  1. Breakfast TV mentioned that he needs a big brother figure etc etc. and. I just thought (maybe risky) but bring him back to rangers in a coaching role, shoehorn him in for when Walter moves on, can you magine that happening? I know somecwill say he'll get drunk, go missing etc. Etc. But what if he just needs a day to day job in football, he's one of our legends and I for one would be willing to give him a chance, get well soon Gazza.

  2. no thanks. If we can afford him we should be in for Andy Carroll of Newcastle, hes got a mention on SS today, Peter Lovenkrands says he should be selected by Craig Levein for the National squad as he has scottish grandparents. He has put away 17 goals in 34 appearances for Newcastle, and reminds me a bit of Mark Hately in height and strength!

  3. I dont mind the England team its just the media that annoys me. That smarmy Gary Linekar, Ian Wright etc, if they didnt say all the time that they are going to win it I think more Scottish people would support them, its just the national hyperbole that rips my knitting :)

    Wot he said!

I live in england and get into the atmosphere of it all then some commentator prat like Motty says 1966 blah blah "...and scotland didn't qualify", then its time for the mute button!

  4. Just saw it as well and echoed similar sentiments in the 'Mark Lawrenson is such a cock' thread. Was good to see and nice to get some credit, wish BBC Scotland would do the same.

I agree Mark Lawreson, face like a soor sweety, and wasn't interested in anything other than the EPL. Knob

  5. Inspiring yesterday, we may never see another rangers man, fan manager like him in our lifetime.

A lasting tribute to Walter should be made at ibrox wether it be a stand naming or statue or a Managers Hall of fame along the marble staircase, along side the other greatest managers - Struth, Symon, Wallace. My personal preference would be a statue, a bit like the statue in the Rocky movie where he holds his hands up, showing that he's not just a manager but a fan!

    Just a thought.

  6. I like the idea, maybe £1000 pa is too much of a commitment for most fans, but if those members had reduced season tickets, and say 25% off buying rangers goods in Rangers stores and other similar benefits, where there is still income generated for the club, that could really work.

The last time we felt the 'call' was manchester 2008, some say 200,000 fans were there, I was there, just felt the need to be there, we all had associated costs in that trip say a couple of hundred quid on average. So if becoming a new member meant a couple of hundred quid to help guide our beloved club albeit maybe only for a few years out of this turmoil then this is one fan that would without question.

This definitely wouldn't work if it was only for a few years. If we went down this road we'd have to stay on it, you can't turn round and say to the fans help us fund this for a say until we get back on our feet and then you're out on your arse again. And the Barcelona model is 155 euros a year for an adult member of the club, with a 10% discount on club merchandise from official club stores, and up to a 20% discount on tickets.

"..only for a few years... to get back on our feet...", then its peoples choice to continue which Im sure they would, the rest of the post was more important than that little few words...

  8. I only watched Saturday's game last night, and we were poor all over the field. One of the areas were we were particularly poor was upfront. No movement at all from Boyd and Lafferty. Not once did I see any of them coming short or trying to make the run beyond. They were piss poor.

However if you looked at the other side of the pitch, a St. Johnstone striker called Colin Samuel was running riot. He was IMO absolutely outstanding on Saturday. He had the movement, the pace, the touch, the composure and the finish - and that was just for the goal. He tore Weir and McCulloch apart, albeit Bougherra being in there he may have had a harder time of it, but it goes to show how bad our strikers were on Saturday that they were being outshone by fucking Colin Samuel!

We need a new striker, simple as that. Yes, there are other areas we need to strength, but how can the likes of Davis, Mendes, Thomson and Rothen get any sort of passing game going when the strikers stand there like bloody lamposts! Miller does running far enough, but can't finish his tea. Novo can run, but I find him hopeless tbh. Naismith is a player I like but he is better playing off a striker, or in a wider role in a front three. What we need is a bullish center forward, with pace. I never thought I'd say something like this, but we need a striker in the mould of Colin Samuel, christ if he plays like that week-in-week-out, I wouldn't mind him.

If only we had money to spend. :(

back on topic, I watched the match and thought the same, this guy looked good, could be an just what we need. He's scored against us and sceptic, 28 years old and an international player. Could be a january buy if theres any funds available.

although looking a his wikipedia profile he's a bit inconsistent.
