  1. Are you Martin Bain? :craphead:

THANK GOD FOR DAVID MURRAY and WALTER SMITH GETTING US 9 IN A ROW!!!! AND SPENDING ALL THAT CASH AND EVEN GETTING US OUT OF DEBT WHEN HE REALISED HE OVERSPENT!!!

THANK GOD FOR DAVID MURRAY AGREEING TO THE RELEASE CLAUSE WITH CARLOS CUELLER OR WE WOULD NEVER HAVE SEEN CARLOS IN A RANGERS JERSEY AND NEVER MADE A GREAT PROFIT!

get off his back. He has supported Smith big time!

SMITH HAS SPENT around 20 MILLION in 2 years... thats enough cash to make a good team... instead Smith has brought the age profile up to nearly 30. He has got 7 strikers and plays 1 up front. He has about 7 defensive midfielders and no clear LB or RB. or RW.... 20 million is a lot of money

Le Guen brought the age profile down to 26 and only spent 4 million. and we played much better football than we did last season!

If we dont improve this season its not Murray's fault its Walters.

  2. I was at ibrox last night and pretty suprised at the amount of BILLY BOYS and FTP during follow follow, i knew it would happen but it was being sang every few minutes, especially in the queue around the back of the copland going into the mainstand!

I didn't feel unsafe where i was in the queue or the stands, even when my dad started telling people he was actually a killie fan, but came along with me to support gers and scottish football, from where i was, it was a decent night, some good laughs, and just a shame the bonus of the uefa cup didnt come home.

Turned out we weren't the only ones there after all!

  3. I was in Ibrox last night and i was ashamed to call myself a Gers fan as most were singing Billy boys and were FTP during Follow Follow and various other songs, we had quite a few pitch invasions and 2 birds decided to flash their boobs at 30000 fans, an utter disgrace and the amount of people who got into the ground with beer bottles and others who were absolutely blootered were a disgrace, on the scoreboard flashed up a boys name aged 12 saying Missing now if i had took a 12 year old with me theres no fecking way i would have lost him.

We are Scotlands Shame in more ways than one and its all of us who get tarred by this one big brush. Utter embarrassment to football.

We had parents with young kids pissed out their minds and yes they were allowed into the ground, outside the ground we had virtually no police pressence and no stewards and it was very scarey for adults nevermind kids witnessing this. If any of you were there and seen this then surely you cant condone this.

Had a few laughs too mind you when i went into the loo and police pushed me out the way to nick a girl who was pissing in the gents, was very classy i might add, had a girl standing at end of the row shouting into a mobile to her friend "whats your seat number" about 100 times down this phone then saying to her "are you sure your in the main stand?" and she was sitting in the Copeland Road stand.

All in all i was very embarrassed to be a Ger last night and it had nowt to do with football.

If you think we are Scotland's shame then you know where the door is

Right now we are Scotlands shame and if you think not then you are condoning everything that happend last night. This will have long lasting repercussions for the club; I can't imagine what decent folk in Manchester must have thought of all the vulgarity FTP signing and sheer hooliganism and yobism.

    Agree

What sort of p1sh is this. Thermopylae, were you at Ibrox? I was with CottonRunt and it was like nothing I have ever seen before. The atmosphere was hostile...yes, due to the lack of sufficient stewarding, but never the less completely unwarranted. The club were taken by surprise no doubt, but it was blatantly obvious that a large part of the crowd were under the influence of something and were not of the usual social standing. In fact, there were a great number that we saw who I would suggest were not worthy of the colours they wore.

When our turnstile opened (Main Stand next to Copland Road), there was a sway of people in the Copland queue headed toward the Main Stand turnstiles. The police held them back by creating a human chain yet many still got through. In some ways similar to what I hear about the Broomloan, I did fear there could be something about to occur.

As for all the arseholes who spoiled what could have been a great experience for the kids! The kids were having there moment in front of the crowds, proudly planting their flags on the pitch. Then of course one or two neds decided they wanted into on the act, shortly followed by dozens more including the birds that for some reason felt it appropriate to flash their tits. So the kids were stopped from going on the pitch and some had their flags confiscated. There was again a point at this time that it could have developed into something more serious as more and more felt being on the pitch was acceptable.

A few other misdemeanours......smoking, hash smoking, bigoted bile, glass bottles, kids being abused for kicking a ball around outside the stadium, puke, parents pished out their skulls in charge of kids, etc, etc, the list goes on.

Thank god the night passed without any serious injuries / fatalities.

Shame of Scotland.....I find it hard to disagree. It's people like you who think it is OK to behave in this manner that should be shown the door. And if you condone what went on last night in Manchester and at Ibrox then you should go find it.

Oh, and CottonRunt really was pissed he couldn't get a pie!

  5. I heard the players would be flown back to ibrox with the trophy minutes after the match in a helicopter if they win the uefa cup, so maybe it could make going to ibrox worthwhile

We're so lucky McBoyd! BTW...how will I recognise you? <cr>

He'll probably have his ps3 with him

    :pipe:

Ha! It'll be like having a personal moment with the UEFA Cup winners. :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:

  7. This is good news :) It makes sense to open the doors for the fans who cant travel.

good news for fans who cant go but its not really directed at them , it to try stop as many of us fans hitting manchester

I strongly suspect the Greater Manchester Police have asked Rangers to open Ibrox Bastian.

Did you get your sig sorted out ?

not as yet , u reckon everyone will still head to manchester ??? dont wanna end up going only to find out only fans with tikets turn up

Dont be a mug. Get down to Manchester & enjoy the day.

I would certainly appreciate the Ibrox beam back. With an 8yr old daughter who loves the Gers this would at least give her the opportunity to sample some atmosphere, rather than listening her old man screaming at the telly! (tu)

  8. It was quite possibly the worst performance I have seen for some time. Adam is a disgrace, Burke looked like a First Division player. Novo has nothing more than a bit of dig. And it was feckin freezing!

I'll also be composing a letter to the SFA re the sectarian chants from that bunch of left-wing toe-rags. On a night when Ibrox threw it's doors open to thousand of kids, the constant F*** the Pope and F*** the Queen was not welcome.

  9. SDM is a businessman first. He saw RFC as an investment opportunity when he took over, and every single significant move subsequently has been to improve the financial position of the club (yes, even "investing" in Flo). This announcement cannot possibly be without negatives. We could end up with the UK's finest stadium and some nice luxury flats around Edminston Drive. But my guess is this would end up with us scraping the bottom of the barrell for a team that can compete domestically, never mind in Europe.

  10. we dont fill out our stadium at the moment becaus the prices are slightly steep (exept compared to chelsea) witha bigger stadium we can reduce the tickets to maby £15 for an adult so the cheaper the tickets the more fans we get

So, let's assume a ticket price of £30. Increase the capacity by 20k and half the admission price - net effect of that would be a reduction of £450k on gate receipts per game. Sorry, doesn't stack up.

  11. Can someone help me to understand how the stadium can be viewed as an asset by anyone other than the plc? It's not like there are a handful of other footie clubs waiting in the background looking for a 70k seater stadium? Sure, it will appear on the balance sheet, but in cashflow terms a £700mil mortgage is going to have a major impact. Also, why do we need a 70k seater stadium. I fear this would mean we would be playing in front of a partially empty stadium except on OF and CL days. We don't fill the stadium we have week in / week out.

  12. Under Uefa ruling, the club is always responsible for the fans .... therefore what we do effects the club directly.

Is anyone gettng this yet .... What WE do effects the club.

I get it. But I think you are missing the point being made. The Human Rights Act of 1998 states freedom of thoughts, conscience and religion. While I am bang against the singing of the bile we hear from all corners of Scottish football (not only Old Firm), the fact is the law states it is a persons right to do so if he / she wishes. Who is the higher authority - UEFA, our government or the European government? I would certainly think that would be either our or the European govt. Therefore, as with Bosman, Euro law is higher than any UEFA legislation.

We must stop the bile, but the way to do it is for us all to get behind the effort and stamp it out whenever and wherever we experience it. Not for UEFA to dish out punishment based upon the minority.
