Crap!
If Rangers don´t score early it will be another struggle to break them down. Without Miller there´s no-one that can stretch their defense.

Rangers 3 Hamilton 0
Boyd, Novo, Davis

I wonder if them paying large wages to the likes of Jiro Jirosick, Gravesen and (not so)Keane over the past few seasons have contributed to them making less profit.
Don´t forget good old Bobo Balde sitting out his contract waiting for his "Loyalty" bonus!
-
Great to have him back in the team!
-
Good to see he´s treated with the same respect as any former manager.
But I must say his Rangers team was the worst I´ve ever seen. His signings were the weirdest lot ever to build a new team around. Clement was a very good player, Sionko decent as well but didn´t fit in, Papac is a solid player but the rest...Sebo a total donkey and N´Diaye, Ponroy and Stanger completely useless.
Those were dark days.

I think he will get his chance to show what he can do, but we may have to wait for the january clear out. There seems to be too many of Walter´s favorites ahead of him at the moment.
Same goes for Aaron.
The sooner these guys get a place on the bench AND some playing time, the better IMO.
-
Good point.
Nacho should be given a run on the left side of midfield for a few games at least. Adam, Beasley and Lafferty have all had their chances and failed to a large extent. The bench is beckoning for them IMO.
Nacho was such a vital player for us last season. He deserves better.

Bring back Dean Furman, pronto!
-
Yes.
But not for £4M though!

Good article!
It´s unbelievable what those deluded fools come up with. Every time Rangers and/or MIH come out with their accounts they predict RFC´s imminent demise.
They begin to remind me of the Jehovah´s Wittnesses with their umpteenth prediction of the end of the world.

With the line-up Walter´s chosen it´s gonna be an interesting game. I would have chosen Novo and Burke or Naismith as the wide players. Perhaps Walter hopes Adam will do something useful from a free-kick, can´t see any other reason why he´s been picked ahead of Burke and Naismith.
I just hope the play doesn´t deteriorate into just punting long balls to McCulloch.
-
I´m looking forward to it. Facing a good team like Panathinaikos should be interesting.

3 - 1
Boyd, Ferguson, Burke

Great news! The midfield has struggled in his absence. I would love to see what a midfield consisting of Ferguson, Thomson and Davis could do.
-
I think it would be better for Rangers if FIFA decides the transfer deal is a no-go. The can´t use the money to bring in a replacement and it would leave the team a bit lightweight up front. A couple of injuries/and or suspensions and we would struggle.
Cousin should be professional enough to play on until the summer, then he can go.

Rangers 3 Celtc 1
McCulloch, Ferguson, Boyd
-
3-1 FGS McCulloch

They won´t survive from that group, that´s for sure.

About time somebody had the guts to say it. From Ibrox there´s only the same old dignified silence.
Well done Gordon!

What worries me is the 4-5-1 formation. If played aggressively it can disrupt Red Stars midfield play and open up chances for counter attacks. If played too cautiously it merely allows them lots of time on the ball. Basically I´m worried this defensive tactic will hand Red Star the initiative and which is something I always hate seeing.
Anyhow, Rangers WILL win this tie!

Darcheville from the start. If he tires, throw on Cousin to finish them off! :footballew:

Logic signing really. The squad lacks depth. Lee will add that and more because he will be a team player who´ll play for the jersey in those crappy midwinter games when those high profile signings most fans are crying out for will be AWOL.
Welcome to Rangers Lee.

Bud is certainly one my favourite players from the past. Is there any truth in a story I read somewhere that he once was sent off for kicking the referee up the backside?
-
The signing of JCD has to be put into context. Rangers need quite a few new players, and decent players cost money. Transfer funds are limited so some signings will have to be Bosmans. This signing adds depth to the squad and still leaves the transfer funds intact.
JCD is solid player so from that point of view should be a very good signing. His style of play is a little bit like Sebo´s, but with the difference that he knows what he´s doing and can score goals.

This would be my line-up

Lafferty is an option at Centre Forward and Aaron on the left wing.
I sure would like to see Aaron get a chance against Hamilton. Rangers should beat them regardless of who´s in the team, but a fairly settled team is also important. Too much chopping and changing just for the sake of it is seldom a good thing.
