  1. I tried PES 2009 last night and it's so far behind FIFA that I doubt they can make the ground up.

    I wish they would though.

I said the same thing about fifa three or four years ago.....

Things come and go. Fifa 09 was pretty good but for me it's still is miles behind pro evo four and six tho.

I haven't played the last few pro evos so i couldn't comment. But i do think they can bounce back if they pull their fingers out...

  2. Worst Striker in Scotland?

    You're kidding right?

Boyd is easily one of the best in scotland.

What alot of you don't realize is that that's all he is. He will never make the step up to anything better than that. He will score against the poor and do nothing against the rich....

That is why some people dislike him. Others overlook this and think he is the next best thing since sliced bread...

  3. TBH i don't think many people here actually watch French football and are up to date with his form. Myself included. We all know he was quality during his Monaco days, many people here linking videos and so on, but most haven't asked the big questions. What is he like as a player now?

To be dropped from PSG must mean he's clearly not at his best.

I hope he does well and actually gets a game. For now though I'm not going to get too excited until he preforms on the pitch.

Two Champions League finalists in our team can't be anything but good though, surley?

Isn't he a free kick taker too? Many of us, myself included, having been crying out for a decent set-piece taker for as long as I can remember.

    People lose form.

Would you play pedro/jerome in a CL game if they were playing really gash? Best players must start, having CL experience is great, but if you're a shite footballer it means nothing..

  5. I think it's ridiculous that we've not signed a CB.

What are we playing at? We are well and truly fucked if weir/magic pick up an injury.....

At least we have cover for LMF (laff/naismith/miller/novo/davis/smith) They may not be the best options but all can do a good shift out there.

We have nothing at the back and it really is worrying me now..

  6. It really does baffle me if this signing does happen.

We all know that midfield is the last place we need to strengthen/backup.

So why the fuck are we attempting to sign a 31 year old midfielder that will be one VERY decent wages.

Bain, Smith and so on all coming out saying there's no money yet they want to bring in Rothen?

If true it's a bit fishy. Why the fuck are we wasting time on midfield when it's obvious that we have severe defensive flaws.

It's not really. We do not have a gifted left sided player for LM that's ready for the top team. Beasley wil never be strong enough, Fleck is not yet setting the heather alight (although, he's never a LM in a 100 years). Who else would you put in there right now?

The guys very talented and worth whatever wages we give him. Also, remember Advocaat's old adage...defending starts from the front! (tu)

    Defense > Midfield.

It's that simple. I'm sure if we asked every bear on this board, which area needs strengthening the most, they would say CH.

We can live without a LMF at this moment in time. I don't think Weir can handle three games a week and I'm pretty dam sure Smith knows that too.

We can rotate novo/Laff/millier/fleck/naismith and so on out there. Who the fuck can we rotate big davie or magic with?

Our defensive situation is in a critical state. It's going to be our worst nightmare if one, or even both, pick up an injury/suspension.

  8. Someone post the mandatory 3 minute YouTube video of him looking the tits, someone else load Football Manager and check his potential ability and what price they sold him for in season 2011/12.

In all seriousness what are we going to pay him in, snails? We're skint, we've just held on to Davie Weir supposedly, where has this cash come from?

this gets on ma tits.....how the fuck DO YOU know we are TOTALLY skint? NO ONE knows this bar Rangers FC, dont listen to the fucking press because they know just as much as us, its 1% knowledge and 99% PURE speculation.

and thats goes for anyone who says "AW WE'RE SKINT, FUCK SAKE HOW CAN WE PAY THEM?" until the interm report comes out to look at finances SHUT UP.

We all know rangers are skint. It's common knowledge......

Where have you been all summer?

yes our finances are not good, but people look at it they we cant even afford some mediocre player from the SPL......I DO NOT believe it is that bad and we can sign a player.

Sponsors moving on, Setanta fucking us over, Poor TV deal, Murry basically shouting from the rooftop that he wants to sell by stepping down. I think it's pretty bad. Could be worse i suppose, but until further investment from someone other than Murray i don't think the club can risk shelling out millions on players at this moment in time.

  10. ARSENAL are preparing a shock £1.5Million bid for Rangers hitman Kris Boyd.

Arsène Wenger was keen to land Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh before the transfer deadline but the French-born Moroccan ace is set for talks with London rivals West Ham.

The move represents a large gamble for the French manager who has already lost stars Kolo Touré and Emmanuel Adebayor to high spending City but Wenger, who has since received an apology from the Premier League referees chief Keith Hackett after being sent to the stands in the closing minutes of Arsenal's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United at the weekend, believes last season's SPL top goal scorer is capable of competing in the English Premier league.

Jack Wilshere, who scored 2 goals in the Emirates Cup against Rangers, had earlier been linked with a move to Ibrox and it is thought that Arsenal are willing to let the English youngster make the trip north of the border to sign for the Scottish Champions on a season long loan as part of the deal.

Think that tops it for this summer....

  11. This is not a 'Boyd haters' thread, nor is it a 'Pro-Boydies' thread either.

What is clear is that Kris Boyd started against Falkirk, had a poor game, and did not score any, but the team got 4 whether despite his presence or because of. That team, regardless of the slightly sub-par display, won the match convincingly in the end with 4 good goals.

Against Hearts Boyd found himself on the bench, having failed to ever score at Tynecastle for Rangers - but he came on and all credit to him he won us the match with a clinical finish from the spot.

Is it Walter's policy from now on that Boyd is anything but a guaranteed starter and will be deployed when Walter sees fit?

Like I say, I am not slagging or praising Boyd overall in this thread, just asking what folk think Walter sees the guy as? He doesn't seem to be a first choice, but without doubt has a contribution to make if he IS used.

Seems Walter has laid down 'the law' - Boyd will rarely start the big away games, and sometimes won't start the home ones either, but will be used in a way which gets the best out of him.

That seem about right to you?

I don't think we can really tell two games into the season mate, especially after he was just coming back from an illness.

And the bolded bit is your opinion, i wouldn't have said he had a poor game against Falkirk.

PS another Boyd thread today that could be in the Generic one?:P

What illness, i have been trying to find out what illness he had, was he really ill

    fannypox.

Duno. Boyd, good old Boyd. Plays fucking atrocious one week, everyone hates him. Plays great the next and everyone loves him.

I think he's ok. Best finisher we have by a mile, the goals say it all. He's also a lazy bastards, you can easily notice when he doesn't give a shit during a game.

Been saying this for years. Still needs to improve off the ball! His link up play has got better but i just think there is alot more he could be doing. ;)

  12. I don't think anything will beat vice city. Just a fucking amazing game. It really had it all.

Missions were great and actually fun to play, plenty witty characters and a very decent storyline. Also you could fly for the first time!

Soundtrack was perfect and the maps we're a decent size. Not too big not too small.

Was a perfect game. GTA 3, SA and 4 had flaws, i still love them too bits tho. Vice was flawless IMO.

  13. yeah killie was no bother when i needed tickets outside the ground.

I've only ever bought tickets outside killie. All my well tickets have been via bus. Is it much bother buying well tickets for rangers end outside fir park?
