  1. Monday night, on the TV, just after Christmas and New Year, £18-20 an adult ticket (nice one Kilmarnock)... work committments, not everyone can make it.

I'm giving my ticket away, and I will watch it in the comfort on my home.

Rangers for their part had tried to put a deal to entice bodies in but Killie rejected it, so fuck Killie and I hope the crowd verges on the 10k mark and they get peanuts from it for their greed.

PS IMO the crowd will be around 23K

  2. Spent £5m+ in the summer, that got us two strikers and two loan deals.

Walter Smith, over the years has brought in too many of the same players at the one time. At one point we had about 8 central midfielders and 6 strikers, whilst being left short at the back and out wide. He can moan to an extent, but he should have spent the money more wisely. We've got two poor fullbacks, no holding midfielder, a winger who is not even ours, lack of creativity...

Yes he deservesa praise, but he also deserves criticism. Although, to some, it's a crime as soon as Walter Smith is slated - he can do no wrong. Ok to blame some of the players though.

Beattie has been a complete failure till now and as much as Jelavic looks a smashing player it can't be said that he has been a success ( though I've no doubt he will come back and be ) and the jury is still out on Weiss and Foster.

On other sites predictions of 10-15 goals were predicted for Beattie, I reckoned at the time slightly in jest he'd be lucky to make 10-15 games

Smith's transfer record last time out has to be a thumbs down so far!

  3. That defeat could really derail the team, could anyone honestly say we've played well this season, it's got paralles to the 10IAR year.

That said Sunday could be the kick up the arse Smith and Rangers need, IMO Smith's tactics were woeful and have to change and the players did not follow whatever orders he gave.

Get it put to bed and start again, I only wish we had a midweek game to get straight back in it

  4. I very much doubt that! dont get me wrong mate, frankie could be right but if that is the case then we would have been sold by now! that is a guarentee?

Thats what I can't work out, if Frankie is on the right path surely a investor would jump at the chance?

  5. I may be missing the whole point here Frankie, but has this been confirmed?

If so why did Murray let this go for so long effectively leaving himself with nothing for his shares?

No, it hasn't been confirmed but the media, the fan groups and other in-the-know bears have indicated it is true.

The financial well-being of MIH (or otherwise) being the crucial factor in his negotiating position (or lack of)... :)

Right cheers for clarifying that to me.

If what is said is true (and I've no reason to doubt you ) Murray has made a very strange decision in refusing offers, I just can't work that out!

  6. So who will recieve the money for the shares which Murray holds?

Essentially the bank now 'owns' Murray's shares. So the removing the debt and buying the shares are the same thing.

  7. What does Murray look for once the 32 million is paid and will the bank be willing to continue the overdraft?

    Apparently SDM will receive nothing....

The whole point about the fans buying the club is so the bank's influence (fiscally or otherwise) is removed. The same goes for a new individual owner; I doubt the bank would want to stay involved.

Where does MIH/SDM's shares end up?

  8. So it would be a larger initial investment and then a membership fee every season to fund the running fo the club ?

That's my understanding of how one model could work...

Obviously the difficulty would be getting the required finance in place up front if the bank are looking for £32million for the club. And that's not taking into consideration the operational monies required to make the club a viable concern without the bank's £15million over-draft facility.

What does Murray look for once the 32 million is paid and will the bank be willing to continue the overdraft?

  9. There are many questions, like the posts above, that could be asked at the agm. Thing is how much time will be given to the Q&A session and will the people asking the questions be hand picked by the board.

I really hope the new chairman will give the fans at the meeting the time to ask relevant questions. The people who question the price of pies etc really need to hold their tongue at this particular meeting.

Haven't been for a few years but will be doing all I can to attend this one.

Exactly - the duration of the meeting is important. Instead of 30-45mins, 2-3 hours is required for real debate.

Now, the unified fan organisations should be calling for that publicly to ensure it happens. That is something that everyone would agree with and thus some common ground would be found.

If the unified fan organisations have any clout at all Frankie they should be on the blower as we speak demanding more floor time for questions and the request should be accepted.

A sign of showing strength to those on the outside

  10. Jesus H. Christ.

Can we please stop the one-upmanship about forums? Not sure how attacking each other delivers unity.

I'd suggest better communication between the Trust, FF and RM may be a preferred method of doing this.

Would the other Gers' forums be involved in this also Frankie?

Isn't that the whole concept of unity?

It is! So why is causing so many divisions?

  12. I know its RM we're on but why has no one from the trust been on VB? It has one of the most active memberships despite the low volume of users, has their been instructions not to approach the site? A lot of VB bears members have RM as their "other" site and its only here we can discuss the RST with any of its members.

Has it ever crossed your mind that they just might be a teeny bit pissed off with being trashed on a continual basis? And threatened?

Are you so naive to believe that they'd actually be welcomed?

The first thing I was told 40 years ago about how to debate was never to resort to ad hominem attacks. They ultimately demean those who indulge in them far more than the target.

I think this is a lesson that has obviously escaped posters on certain forums.

The one thing about VB is your opinion will always be posted, you wont be banned for it!

Onto the subject of ad hominem attacks, could you give an example of it because its maybe something I've missed.

Not true was threatened and called a T*** and threatened some more by the owner no less

    and then banned <cr>

not that im bothered on anything (tu) cracking articles on VB etc but feel more at home on RM

For what reason? Fell free to PM if you'd prefer mate.
