Willie McKay did say that his players didn't favour a move to Ibrox when PLG was there, so it seems that the signing of Thomson is a rather nice windfall from changing the manager
.I don't believe a word McKay says, but I'm pretty sure this would not have happened if PLG was here.

STV have apparently just said in their headline that Thompson has signed.

I don't think so. This is probably why he has been talking up all his young midfielders recently. He must have been told by Petrie that there would be an offer level they would not refuse. I'm just astonished that it seems to be us that have made the offer. :o
