  1. 20/01/2007 - 22:48 Lyons recruitment should know a blow of accelerator in the very next hours. After the qualification of its team for 8th of finale of the Cut of France vis-a-vis Laon (3-1), Jean-Michel Aulas gave a progress report on the next arrivals. ?There will be an imminent arrival in the next hours concerning the station of attacker. Baros is a player who strongly interests us, of the contacts were established, and John Carew could be integrated perfectly in the English championship " it declared, accrediting a little more the thesis of the exchange between Baros and Carew. There but Lyon will not stop believing its president of it. ?J?r?my Cl?ment is a completely credible possibility. He strongly interests us. A proposal will be made as of this evening in Rangers?.

I posted that in another thread. That's the president of Lyon talking about signng him yesterday.

Sky has a translation now and a bit more.....

The French club will also look to secure the signature of Rangers midfielder Jeremy Clement, who only moved to Scotland from Lyon in the summer.

"Jeremy Clement is a perfectly credible eventuality," Aulas confirmed.

However, former Gers boss Paul Le Guen is also keen to recruit his former player at his new club, Paris Saint Germain.

"It is true that we are interested," said Le Guen. "I had him at Lyon, I had him at Glasgow. He is a young player with experience both abroad and at a big club like Lyon.

"He is a left-sided player who can bring us new possibilities. It isn't the only option because we know it won't be easy, but he is one. Clearly."

  2. John "Polaris" MacDonald.

Was scoring 20 goals a season before McCoist arrived whilst playing in a team so utterly gash they made today's team look like football gods.

Earned the nickname through a series of dives which put Klinsmann's best to shame, usually when up against Doug Rougvie of the Sheep, who used to turn purple with rage just looking at Polaris before kick off.

  3. Im being serious.

At Ibrox i have never saw Rangers shoot towards the Copland Rd in the first half, ever, and i have been to well over 100 games at Ibrox.

is it not because we always warm up and then line-up for the coin toss with the copland rd. behind us so the winner of the toss 99 times out of a hundred just sais we stay the way we are??

Think you may have a good point there.

I started going to games in the early 80's and the Gers always warmed up in the Copeland Road half and generally stayed there. I reckon by the time the coin toss comes, the players just want to get on with it and don't want the delay of changing ends, so even if we lost the toss we got to play the way we wanted.

Didn't help Greig or Wallace's teams much in those days, though. :(

  4. The papers this morning are all full of "He said, She said" nonsense designed, understandably, to sell copies and attract readers.

For every pro-Le Guen article there will be a pro-Ferguson / SPL article. As none of us has been in the room when events have unfolded, can we please agree that what is done is done and we don't need to keep raking over old coals to start new fires.

Let's just agree to disagree and hope for a brighter future under the new management team.

My dream scenario: Wattie and Super Ally revive our season, restore some pride and, within 12 months, Coisty proves such an astute leader of men that Wattie can go back to the Scotland job and lead us to EURO 2008 whilst leaving Rangers where we belong: Back On Top. (tu)

  5. Rangers = only side in the world to have won a league title with a 100% league record :)

    that ones wrong for starters.

    try Arsenal.

    Que?

No other club has ever had a 100% record over a season, not even in the old Eastern European mickey mouse leagues where the army owned half the teams.

Arsenal went through a league season undefeated, Rangers went through a league season WINNING every game they played.

  6. I'm on my 3rd winter in Denmark and although the last 2 lasted about 5 months and got down to -15, this one has yet to drop below 0 on a single day.

This has been the warmest year here since 1874. You've got to love global warming, I hate the effing cold. :D

Mind you, I hear it's snowing in Australia. <cr>

Oz ? its spring/summer there at the moment, Im sure.

Yeah, but apparently they had a load of bush fires in Victoria put out by snow, leaving about 4000 fire fighters with f*** all to do.

It's also snowing on Tasmania. :o

  7. Both sound very promising, but cant find anything about them on google..

Also, why are we being linked with so many Romanians..

I think everyone is at the moment. The wee mono-brow that Hearts and Celtic are after is Romanian, isn't he?

There's been a bit of talk that Eastern Europe is the last place left where bargains can be found.

At least they don't play in Austria.

  9. "RANGERS are chasing top-rated Romanian kids Marauis Alexi and Lucian Filip.

But the Ibrox club face competition from south of the border, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs all tracking the talented teenagers.

Seventeen-year-old striker Alexi, a product of the Dynamo Bucharest youth system, already has first-team experience and is regarded as one of Romania's most promising kids.

He was joined at Murray Park for a seven-day trial before Christmas by midfielder Filip.

The Ibrox outfit are scouring Europe for emerging talent and plan to follow up their initial interest early in the new year.

And if they can secure work permits for the Romanian pair, Rangers will be in poll position to get in ahead of their Premiership rivals and strike deals."

Know absolutely nothing about the pair but happy to see we are still looking to pick up promising kids, so long as the price is right.

  10. "TV Nation" poll results:

16% of Voters who voted for Ross Perot believed " If dolphins were really smart, they could get out of those nets."

39% of Americans believe that guns are not "as dangerous as they say."

81% of Americans who have seen two or more Police Academy movies believe O J Simpson is innocent.

29% of those surveyed thought that the guy who put "Great" in front of "Britain" probably meant it as a joke.
