  1. Riquelme took my breath away that night, an astonishing performance infront of an amazing crowd on a fucking epic night.... If he wasn't such a complex character he would be spoke about as one of the finest players ever, easily as good as Zidane if not better on his day but for some reason he never let himself fulfil his true potential... Ah we'll, least we were fortunate enough to see him in his pomp

  2. I liked him tbh

    Did a job

Kinda like a more talented Kirk Broadfoot

Always remember his goal for us at Parkhead what a heeder

i don't remember that, tried the youtube with the words 'Alec Cleland rangers celtic' but couldn't find it, what game/season was it? If I search the game itself I'm sure ill find it but at the moment no luck!
  3. I was between 8-12 when he played for us but from what I remember he was excellent... However that is quite a young age to accurately judge someone's footballing ability and it might just be a case of me remembering how good laudrup was and the fact Cleland more often then not looked to him to pass to but the reason I ask is despite his success no one ever speaks of him and he never played for Scotland so does that mean he was shite?

  4. I know what your saying and it's a fair enough post but there's no Rangers family anymore.

I'm maybe going a bit off topic, but it's still kinda relative....

In regards to Rangers family - We have always been divided through the decades but since they banned The Billy Boys it started all sorts of infighting amongst us that will never be repaired while there's boardroom battles, pro and anti camps, handwringers, agenda pushers, bloggers, liars, people reacting to media smears ...

There's no real sense of unity or family amongst us for anything. Seeing Bears bicker amongst themselfs online, in pubs and at games speaks volumes. We have been blown wide apart I don't think it will ever be repaired ....

your right , we even have die hard fans amongst us that admit they'd turn out for ra celtic if the money was right ...( you'll never live that down, even if u were fishing) but I disagree.... When I go to games, and I admit its only 6-7 times a season, I am reassured by the singing and the banter in the pubs before and after the game that the traditional rangers way will carry on forever. I know it seems desperate at times with some of the comments on here and the noises made by the bloke infront or or a few rows behind u at Ibrox but sheffield Wednesday away and various other grounds I visited in the arse end of nowhere in Scotland last season reassured me that rangers are rangers and its fans, and I mean its real fans will always be the same, we are class, we are loyal, and we are often quite humorous... Either way, we are always the people!

  6. I always remember we were interested in John Collins before he left for hivs to the tar layers.. I liked him as a player, think he would have done well for us.

Was a bit annoyed when the Lego eater joined them.. He was coming to us for months too..

Probably would have done more in his career to date than he has.

i gained more respect for him for doing what he did... At the end of the day he's a celtic fan and he couldn't bring himself to play for us... Fair play, that's the way it should be , the guys got principles, a very good footballer and an all round good bloke, if only the likes of Jon daly, Danny McGain, dalglish, Paul lambert, Davie moyes and countless others had the same attitude as him!
  7. Fuck sake, we should be looking at bringing in better human beings then the Tyne wear ripper :( he's not even good at football, ah well suppose its nice to be linked to player who's not from Erin's f#***n valley
