  1. thought he was well out of it just prior to his goal, but would like to see him start the next game.
  2. one CB and one CF - both with a strong physical presence. Affordable options off the top of my head maybe Nosworthy of Sunderland and Mido at Wigan. People saying midfielder with craft/guile, I don't think we can accomaodate another alongside Mendes without getting over run - unless you are suggesting replacing Mendes? Same as pace at CB - Boogies as quick as anyone out there!?! I always believe the best central defences are based on one guy taking the majority of aerial stuff with his partner picking up the runners in behind. Boogies got the runners covered .
  3. great goal. proud to have supported boydie always! boyd loyal!
  4. sorry, no. I mean for the here and now. Trying to decide myself if we are not good enough or not trying hard enough. This whole season mate
  5. thanks for having a go............bit harsh on big kirk tho!
  6. The Boyd disscusions have me thinking: are we behind just now becuase of a lack of effort, quality or both? some people get unfairly called Boyd supporters etc for backing his ability. I thought maybe it would be interesting to see how people rate the players out of ten for A quality and B commitment/effort rate as many or as few as you like! My Thoughts.................. McGregor 8 9 Alexander 7 8 Broadfoot 5 9 Whittaker 5 7 Papac 7 7 Weir 6 10 Bougherra 8 7 Ferguson 8 10 Davis 7 6 Mendes 8 8 Fleck 7 7 McCulloch 5 8 Dailly 5 8 Thomson 7 7 Edu 5 6 Aaron 7 7 Beasley 5 7 Lafferty 7 7 Miller 5 8 Naismith 6 6 Boyd 8 2 Novo 7 10
  7. I've seen Boyd do all these things this season, and score goals too. The fact that he is not doing it consistently is something that can be sorted out by coaching. It appears that this is either too difficult for our coaching staff to achieve, or that they don't think it represents good time investment as their minds are made up to sell him. Boyd is no lost cause, his attitude problems stem from having the natural ability to score lots of goals - lets face it, the most important thing in football - something he has probably done since a child and therfore has probably had praise heaped on him for years for that. Now he is at a point where Burley and Smith have rejected him yet he still tops the goalscoring charts. If I was top scorer in the SPL and was felt rated below perrenial underachiever Miller, unproven Lafferty, Incapable Velicka and open goal misser Iwelumo etc I would certainly be scratching my head about it! Exactly what I have been arguing all this time, yet some people would think I thought he was amazing yesterday just because it suits them to say so he neither does it enough or well enough. You look back at the first few months of the season up until the turn of the year, he had been involved in a lot of goals and scoring goals, for whatever reason since the birmingham offer he just hasnt hit it off, we have no better strikers to play or walter doesnt make the changes, but that must be boyds fault too aye, but fans are rightly angry about the current state of affairs, and I think Boyd is the new scapegoat.!

Point taken by why should the coaching staff have to prompt a professional football player to basically put a bit of effort into his game? If you can't pass a ball 10 yards to your team mate and can't win headers over a man 3 inches shorter than you, then you shouldn't be playing in my opinion. I appreaciate the goals that he has scored for us but his attitude fucking stinks. It was acceptable to stand about when he was at Kilmarnock, but he is a Rangers player and has to show a bit of grit and determination to merit getting a game every week. I agree, it's a sad state of affairs that lots of players will coast along quite happily and maybe lifes just not fair in that respect, but the point I'm trying to make is Boyd is not an incompetent player, just not in the conditions he needs to play his best. Think about the abuse Robbie Keane got at Liverpool, or even Chris Sutton at Chelsea.....once those guys find their comfort zone they're like different players effort wise!

  10. I believe that kris boyd is a natural goalscorer, far from a complete striker but still a player that will always get goals. I also believe that if he has attitude and fitness problems then there will come a point in his career when a coach shows him the light and he will benefit. I'm not sure that is going to be walter smith though! As to the manager leaving him out of the big games, I see that as the team being too weak to carry a player that fills only one role - goalscorer - unlike miller, lafferty and novo runners who can get about, tackle back, cross in might score now and again. When we lost 1-0 to sellik with boyd playing he got himself in a goalscoring position and hit the target, unfortunatley not scoring on that occasion. Not many rangers players can say that since parkhead at the start of the season.
