Being a Yank and a relatively new Gers supporter (since 2005), it's difficult to understand the bitterness and intense dislike the two teams have for each other. However, that being said, when I was visiting Glasgow in 2005, I went into a pub that was primarily a Rangers supporters pub and was warmly welcomed, and of course the usual Yank baiting was there but for the most part EVERY Rangers supporter and I mean EVERY Rangers supporter was friendly and cordial to me and my party. One even took time to explain the history behind the club and the reasoning for the hatred of Septic. A few days later I visited another pub this one being primarily a Tim club and the exact opposite happened. Not only were we berated for being Yanks but also were treated very poorly by the majority of the Septic supporters. It was at that point that I became a Rangers fan and began to understand that although there are few bad apples in every batch, the majority of the Septic supporters were said bad apples. Two years later, they still hide behind the whole "woe is me, I'm oppressed" excuse while continuing to snipe, and complain. The fact that when they do lose, not a one of them can be honest about the loss.........there's always an excuse: "the ref is a freemason", "our starters were injured", "Jupiter was in the 3rd house of Mars" blah blah blah. I will continue to be a Gers fan, and although I don't "hate" septic perse, you won't find me associating with Tims on game day or the day after....regardless of the outcome on the pitch. That's my two cents worth. C'Mon the GERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris
