Im not a fan of the striker holding the ball up anyway. More of the europian teams use the wide players to hold up the ball, which i prefer.
Plus, i dont think Hemdani should be allowed near a rangers shirt for a while.
Pleople have been complaining about Burke, Naismith even Barry, but Hemdani, for a while now, has been utter pish
-
He could actually be used as an attacking option, kinda
If we need to change the midfield, bring him on and whittaker moves up. I think thats the best way to ease him back in. Its not the same as with strikers, cause its too risky to change your defence, but if whittakers playing above him its not so much of a risk

Davis isnt very good on the wing, he drifts inside leaving Broadfoot exposed.

I heard a Rumour that Cousin will be Available for the OLDFIRM game!
Wonder if he'll wear a Mask
Huge boost if thats true. McManus needs another good knock :harhar:
-
Disgracful tackle!
If Huttons leg is planted then its broken, more than likely.
No one argues with the ref that much before they're booked, the Clelsea players thought he was getting a red, which is what it deserved
-
Good. Barry always makes his presence known and is that driving force from midfield (exactly what was missing last night!)
Darche's fitness is unbelievabley poor.
I hope Thomson plays, him and cuellar were standouts for me against Partick
-
Naismith wasnt bought to come straight into the team and play week in week out. He is one for the near future, and based on some performances this season, in the next couple of years he'll be a big player for us.
He's young, he's inexperienced, he's more often than not, at this stage, gonna have poor touches and distribution etc, but that will come with time.
He looked fantastic at Kilmarnock, but now he's in a totally different place.
Time is all the boy needs

Christ sake!
Burke was one of the few with any sort of invention tonight, and he did put in a few decent crosses.
These guys pull on the jersey and put in a shift. Gow and Buffel would not change the match, there is a reason they're not playinng.

"ha ha haaaaaa ha ha haaaaaaa ha ha haaaa ha haa"
Guess the tune :harhar:
Never Walk Alone?...(that'd work anyway..)
well done lol
-
He's no better than whats already there
No one deserves to be dropped at this stage in the season on a hunch

He's barley good enough for the reserves it seems. :harhar:
I've never thought he was that good.
He's not the match winner everyone seems to be making him out to be

This year in Europe we have had one distasteful result (home to Lyon) the rest of the campaign in CL UC has been a success.
We have beaten the German,French,Greek champions and drawn with Barcelona at home
We have knocked out the joint favoruites to win the UEFA cup, we are not conceding and have had breaks of recent times
So why are so many people quick to dismiss our chances, Monaco and Porto the CL final who gave them a chance, the fact is we have a good draw as well Sporting then Fiorentina or PSV all teams who we can beat .
then comes the final a one off game where anything can happen, i just feel im the only one with a bit of faith and optimism theres a long way to go before we can talk finals but i just cant figure why some people are quick to dismiss us.
I am one of these people who dont think we will win the Uefa cup this year, although I would f.cking love it if we did. Thing is though i'm not one of these fans that are blinkered by the results after 90 minutes and think that just because we have won games we were the better side, far from it.
You mention the wins over Lyon, Stuttgart, Bremen, Panathaniakos and the draw with Barca, yes these were all superb results but NOT because we have been great but because we have been LUCKY. Lets be realistic about our games in Europe this season, look at the stats for everyone of those games you've just mentioned and others and you will see that we have been dominated in ALL of them.
In pretty much all of our European gaimes this campaign we have given teams an average of 65% of the possesion (at least), endless amounts of chances and had it not been for the rub of the green in some of these games we could quite easily be out already.
If Walter continues this anti-football tactics much longer we are going to end up on the wrong end of a very severe defeat sooner rather than later. Had it not been for Cueller and the superman heroics of McGregor against Bremen we would have already suffered, said defeat.
Dont agree
Or well, dont totally agree
The point of a 4-5-1 formation, the way Walter plays it, is to soak up pressure and hit on the break, which a fair few goals have been scored using that tactic.
I dont see it as luck if a defender makes a fantastic tackle, or the keeper makes a world class save, thats the job of defenders and keepers. Its like saying "aye, but if they never scored 4 goals we'd have won one nil"
Its only really luck if the wind blows the ball away
:bouncy: :bouncy:

Did he not play a 4-2-3-1 against Bremen?
Team looks decent, but i prefer Gow over Buffel and the backlines a bit iffy - I know its only Partick, but we cant go too easy on them
-
Ivan Klasnic still hasnt signed a new contract with Bremen...
He would be a fantatstic signing
But another i dont see happening.
I dont see us signing anyone from any of the Lyons, Bremens or others around that level
I believe we'll be looking at lower level teams, like the Lens, Osasuna's etc we looked at this year
-
No to Davis - simply cause he's a good player means nothing in terms of captaincy, and he doesnt appear to urge players on etc.
Daily or Boyd for me. You can always see Daily bossing about the midfield, even Fergie at times lol
-
Big Sam will be sick if nothing happens to Keegan lol
His record was far better and he got the sack!
-
He wasnt the worst, but still poor. They are all poor. It really is shocking
On the sfa website they have a test thing and they show clips and you've to pick red card, yellow card or free kick, or offside and even i got they all right!
:harhar:

Its too much of a risk at this stage in the season
Against partik, by all means
but we cant afford to be carrying passangers at this stage, so iif he plays and ends up some way off the pace (which i fully expect) then it could be a disaster
Buffel is no superstar, and he never was. He was a decent player when fit, but nothing better than whats there.
and whenever i see him in reserves, and even in the one or two games he's player for the senior team, its the same old thing where he gets shoved off the ball. Very much like beasley
-
This summer we will find out exactly what our club is
If we sell them it does just show we're not looking for consistincy, we're happy with mediocrity
If we keep them, and i mean offer contract extensions, they we show that, as a club, we want to win things

I know about Thistle as one of my best pals is a diehard and I've been to Firhill myself when they outplayed Aberdeen in the 1st half.
They have pace in the lad Gray - on loan from Hibs - so I'd be sure to give Davie a rest.
Also need to watch out for Chaplain and his runs, Roberts up-front who's very experienced (won the Scottish Cup with Killie?) and Stevie Murray could give our full-backs problems i we're not careful.
The Jags defence is not one to sniff at either, young and old. Archibald can be pretty solid and Twaddle and Kinniburgh were highly rated at Well and Falkirk recently.
I went to school with his wee brother, who actually now plays for Rangers
-
-----------------Alexander-------------
Whittaker----Webster---Dailly---Smith
Novo--------Thomson----Adam----Gow
--------------Boyd------Naismith
Good chance to see if Naismith and Boyd can play together in a Rangers team.
Smith, Thomson and Webster need the games.
Team i'd pick
Maybe with Cuellar in defence instead of Daily
But this allows Whittaker a run in his natural position, webster a chance, smith a chance and gow a chance.
+ see how Boyd and Naismith do as a partnership
-
I thought today, for the most part, Burke was the only one on the park looking to create something.
I actually thought he had a pretty good game, compared to his team mates.
There is a lack of pace at rangers at the moment, Burke and Naismith really do make the difference at times

Who do people feel is the greatest stports person out there?
Ronaldo is argubly the greatst footballer, Ferderer best tennis player, but overall who's the best?
For me its simply got to be Tiger Woods. No one is even close in my books.
Going into the final day of a tournament, if he's leading, he has NEVER lost. Incredible.
