  1. you answered it youself me thinks
  2. Eh, but we dont fill the stadium now tho.... That's because we're pish. We still get a good 47/48,000 through most weeks. If we improved then we would easily sell out a 60,000 seater. Lets do that first then eh? imo, as i have stated already we need investmennt and long term plans none of this lets get the team sorted now, am not sure if noone has noticed but rangers have been on the go for over a hundred and twenty five years, and we will be around for another 125 years a larger stadia means spending money in the short term, and if a rangers fan is truly a fan winning every year isnt necessary as you know your team will be back and its the club you support not the trophys, yeah am taking a dig at every glory hunter on here who'd moan and complain all year round and then drop the club if they got relegated!!!! you know who you are.... anyway bigger stadium means more revenue i ddit he sums before and we can fill it evey week just too expensive more seats is cheaper so more fans will come... if you build it.... they will come, i knwo bad kevin costner film but to be fair am right Ok, assuming we wouldn't be left with a 3/4 full stadium for a moment. Where are we gettin the £10-20m to bring you dream to reality. you think it costs that much to build extensions onto a stadium now your dreaming, its an investment you pay it up, and make capitol gains on it, why is evreyone opposed to expanding the stadium, its a natural progression, sure you say we cant fill just now, but who wants to pay the money that we're charging??? as i said before more seats means cheaper prices meand more fans every week = money back If you think a stadium restructure wouldn't cost over £10m then you're dreaming. What, rip out the screens and fill the corners? Or put another tier on the Govan? We almost sold Krissy Boyd to pay the 'leccy a couple of months ago. With the quite public financial problems we've had recently what bank in its right mind would lend us £m's? Or which builder would give us a line of credit to that level? If we're going to spend money we dont have lets spend it on the squad, not on more empty seats. me and you would be better discussing this in an 8 hour pubs conversation which this is turning into, but i believe spending money to make money makes more sense than gambling on a player who is shit!!! or as we always claim them to be shit unless they score 8 against celtic in a season. and am talking bout lower admission for people look at barca they have cheap seats in the gods that are always filled out because they are cheap and empty ones closer to the pitch. i only know this from visiting them during a game and seeing it... they played a lower team that wasnt the likes of real of atlectico, am just making a point you dont like it fine, builders would give credit if we use the polish

  4. yeah and your can play better than any of them, and captain kirk he's the meaning of i paid the devil to play for rangers... still better than amdy faye and are we forgetting other young players in the team.. namely fleck... and naissmith when he's fit, even steven smith got a run out... i loved steven smith he might get caught napping sometimes but the boy in his day was one of the best tacklers i've ever seen. so am i assuming if we dont like smith for not playing young players we should get back big eck so you can complain about him playing young players and not experienced players???

  6. Unfortunately we dont play in the UEFA cup final every other Saturday. More capacity would surely bring most of these fans to buy a season ticket though ? ???? There are season tickets unsold with the current capacity. Majority of them are restricted view i think Even if only one was unrestricted, why would we need a bigger stadium? more seats, cheaper gates, cheaper season tickets higher attendances make the money back in a season for building them if you work out 38 games a season 19 at home say an average of 7 extra games at home in domestic cups and an extra 9 from europe, is capacity was 70000 with an avergae season tickect sale of what 35000 and an average punter sale of 30000 per year i dunno season ticket price at the moment dont shoot me just cant afford it(yeah how do you know without knowing jibes coming am a student) so lets do the maths... say 500 for a seaon ticket at 35000 = 17'500'000 and an average of what 25.00 for a normal ticket thats taking into account concessions and kids so its not top dollare but somewhere inbetween at 30000 then again by 35 for games = 26'250'000 so in one season playin at averages we would make a net income of 43'750'000 which isnt to bad thats not including maintence costs etc but as you can imagine more seats means more cash so its not a worry to do this as its an investment. if am not making sense sorry but i beleive more seats means more money for gers in the long run for a short term loss It's cool. I should be in charges of finances at the brox

  8. Not that i really care too much about this thread, but being my virgin topic and poll on rangers media i am quietly pleased it has hung around like a bad smell for over a week, has had 1151 views and 188 votes no matter what any of the bears den posters think, this is a hot topic which just wont die until umbro die, which i hope is soon personally, thanks to all who have voted and for those that are going to vote, i thank you in advance, and the whole point of this is for opinion! so yeah am done with my happy quote ill go back to being sarcastic and mildly funny
  9. going for the controversial...harold brattbakk
  10. yeh but he scored an o.g in a euro tie that we did evenentually win but not the point i remember it lol
  11. Did Van Vossen score in that game? I thought it was 1-1 at Ibrox and Erik Bo came on and scored a couple to make it 3-1, including at least one from an Albertz assist? That was the first game I ever bet on as well - and I had a tenner on 3-1 # your more than likely right i only know we scored 3 goals!!!
  12. well i would have to agree ticket prices are a main detterrant, keeps fans away, we should follow the German ideal and lower price attendances are what we need lower prices will bring that all needed support, and to thjose who said teams like thistle and falkirk were awful, not always the case they were big in their time and had a great amount of names who played for them in the 50s, 60s, 70s and maybe not the 80s but yeah they would be glory hunters and yeah the old firm spectacal is what got everyones attention towards them, plus its all about media and who gets the attention, if one team got lucky 2 or 3 years in a row then the spotlght might change doubt it tho
  13. erik bo andersen and peter van vossen, i'll always remember as a child watching them come off the bench against celtic when we were 2-1 down and bagging 2 goals talk about super subs, bet you guys never saw this one coming
  14. well, i've got to be honest i have always like barry, whether he is good or not, but my dad, the older rangers fan, lol, he is of the opinion that once you leave Glasgow Rangers you should never....ever come back... not because he doesnt want them back but because they are never the same player again, and its been true through time and time, i think barry has fallen into that curse, so i blame superstition not barry, and the fact he was willing to play injured(albeit in vain) to help the team i think we should still cheer him on. he wouldnt be captain of both scotland and rangers if he wasnt a class player nuf said Playing through the injuries was daft, he's hardly offered anything for two years now. I think that having seen Edu's growth in stature after playing regular football, it's not outwith the realms of possibility to suggest that we could have wrapped the league up earlier than we did had Edu replaced Thomson alongside Mendes, instead of Ferguson. i in no way disagree with you.... just i was making the superstitous point
