  1. OK, this is the way I see it (as a supporter of a diddy club, Ayr).

As it stands you have to play under 19s next year, unless the appeal is successful,

Almost all of your players will head off to others who can pay more, and to get revenue in from truncated transfer fees.

If you can get out of Administration, the team with perhaps a few journeymen will really struggle in the SPL.

There is also what happens on the 30th, you could have points deductions for the next two or three years, you would get 25% of any money from the authorities with the rest redistributed between the other 11 teams.

If you do restart as a newco then the above still applies.

If you go to division 3 your home crowds would suffer for three years, your under 19s would win Div 3 (you are full time remember, no one in div 3 or 2 is)

The SPL would not survive in its present form, Kilmarnock (no loss), Dundee Utd, Aberdeen and Hearts are all in financial trouble and would possibly go the same way as you have had to (minus Whyte), ie administration.

It seems to me that the other teams in the SPL have an agenda to neuter you financially, handicap you with points deductions, but still keep you in the SPL to appease the lord God SKY. There are 11 other winners out of this scenario with Celtic being the main beneficiary, obvoiusly.

If you went to the 3rd division, I feel you would find that the whole of Scottish football would need to re-examine how it is run and who runs it.

I agree that neither these options (stay or go to Div 3) can be particularly appealing to Rangers fans, however from a neutral point of view, this may well be the best and only chance we all have to make real changes to the Scottish set up.

I am also suspicious of the timing of some of these releases, such as the 12 month transfer ban, coming at crucial stages of getting you out of administration. If I can see that then lord alone knows what your fans think.

Just some observations from one who is not directly affected by all this.

  2. They basically were ripping Regans mob a new arse saying they don`t know what they are doing, cutting off their noses to spite their faces .Daryl King reckons Miller will Walk away as he won`t have a team to put on the park if he makes Rangers a Newco.

Daryl King made many good points to show the way Rangers were basically being screwed by the powers that be. If the team is liquidated and returns as a 'newco', then the existing players are free to walk away as Fraser Wishart had made clear. This would mean that Rangers had no players next season and no ability to sign any over the age of 18. If this stands then Rangers must drop down to the third as even an under 19s team would get beaten more often than not by the likes of Kilamrnock, St Mirren, et al. Would Sky sign the tv deal with a procession towards the title going to Celtic? This is suicidal madness from the SFA. Go to division 3 and work your way back up, Rangers be no worse off than being neutered in the SPL. Rangers going to Divison 3 would put a little money back into the lower leagues, your fans would be welcome, and you can hold the moral high ground, as the SPL falls apart as, I reckon, a minimum of four teams would fold or go into administration, (kilmarnock, Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee Utd). It makes me as a neutral (Ayr fan), very angry to see the Rangers fans made to suffer for the sins of two egos.

  3. I am a supporter of one of the so called 'Diddy' clubs from division one (Ayr), and I have read this thread with much interest. Rangers going to Div 3 as a newco or whatever really would rejuvinate the lower leagues and make them of much more interest to the media. I, for one, would love to see Kilmarnock, Aberdeen,Hearts and Dundee Utd get financially f*cked by the loss of SKY. Celtic are trying to cut their noses off to spite their face, how many fans will roll up to Parkhead when their best competition is Motherwell or St. Minging? The SPL have made it clear they do not want you. We in the lower leagues would welcome Rangers with open arms and the loss of several SPL 'greats' would be as funny as hell. I hope your new owners take no sh*te from the SPL and call their bluff.

  4. Whyte owns Ibrox, Albion and Murray park

    Liquidates 'Gers, buys St.Mirren

Moves ST's to Ibrox, sells their new ground

changes name to Rangers 2012 or similar

    debts wiped out

still get the opportunity for European competition, no ban, no points deduction in SPL

    that's a plan !

Just a thought, but is this not the exact plan that Airdrie did to Clydebank a few years ago? Airdrie went bust, their director bought over Clydebank (at that time homeless), renamed them as Airdrie United and took their place in Division 2. In effect the plan would be the same for Rangers to liquidate, take over St Mirren and rename the Rangers 2012 (or whatever) sell St Mirren park then take their place in the league. No rules broken all that goes up in smoke is St Mirren, the debts and any sense of honour Rangers ever had.

  5. Sorry Dennis, I should have said. I am an Ayr United fan from Airdrie (honestly!!)

Been watching this unfold for a long time and been reading the posts from other guys out there. I cannot believe the stupidity of the 'fans' of some other teams who cannot see how serious this is and how crap it is for the innocent folk who will be chucked out of a job.

  6. I'm not a Rangers fan but I am extremely distressed to see the players and backroom staff paying the price for the egos of two muppets. Wylde is a rare breed, a footballer with a heart, as he has walked without any compensation to try to keep someone who has a family. Murray and Whyte should hang their heads in shame today.
