  1. there's other incentives to be looking at aswell, not just 750k when the guy is probably already a multi millionaire.

things like champions league, playing in front of massive crowds, the chance to win medals, first team football,

(which he definitely won't get if he goes to c***ic) it's not all about the money all the time.

i know what i would choose if i was loaded in the first place anyway.

I understand what you are saying, and you may have a point about first team football at Celtic, although whoever he signs for he will believe he will be able to get in the first team. In in all honesty, from his point of view if it comes down to a straight choice between Rangers and Celtic, i cant blame him for opting for the highest bidder, as most of the other incentives you listed can be applied to them aswell. There is no doubt he will be a wealthy man, but if the reports of a 5k weekly difference are true, he will have to justify to himself why to turn down such an offer. Really, as he has no links with the club, it will make no sense to him to accept 5k less a week.

  2. If he can get 5k a week extra elsewhere then i dont blame him one bit for rejecting us. Lets remember he has no emotional ties with the club whatsoever, and over say a 3 year contract thats over 750k difference! if it was just two clubs that didnt mean anything to me I would be doing the same, as would everyone else!

  3. Well why not? I wouldnt ask whats he done to deserve this, thats ridiculous. He has to play in order to answer such a question. The very few times he has played for us he hasnt put a foot wrong, was exceptional last season, and its clear the defense is underperforming and needs a change. Walter even talked of a lack of edge in our defending after the Hearts match. Get him in beside the bougie man i say.

  4. Its a good idea in principle, but not a realistic one. It depends how it would work, if that cash was seperate from any available budget, and therfore it was known what player(s) this cash was used for, it would not only put tremendous pressure on the manager to make sure we get a signing that will excel, but also an enormous strain on the player himself. If he turns out to be a flop, or cant get in the team, imagine the reactions!

  5. I agree with people suggesting Weiss-Davis-Ness-Naismith as our four in midfield to an extent. My only worry is its a bit lightweight so perhaps with Edu sitting behind it? With Jela uptop, with Naisy and Weiss pushing further up when in possession almost reverting to a 4-3-3. Thoughts?

  6. Rather than signing a mediocre replacement for Kenny Miller, Common's imo should be our number 1 target, if we get him in it would give us the option to put Naismith up front. For me a far better alternative to any of the possible signings that are currently being mentioned. That said, the fee recieved from the Miller transfer may not be enough to secure his services this month, but surely would, at the very least, allow us to offer a tempting pre contract. Infact id accept securing Commons on a pre contact even if it meant us not bringing in any direct replacememt for Miller this month rather than the alternative.

  7. I have read its about 500k, but according to Mccoist before todays match nothing has been agreed although he says a deal is not a million miles away. Part of me would like Miller to stay for the rest of the season, who the hell are we going to get for 500k? No one thats going to be as good as Miller thats for sure. Beattie is utter mince and to be honest if any club offered to take him off our hands id let him go. Lafferty has some ability there but too inconsistant so that only leaves Jelavic now and there is no guarantee he is going to be prolific. Miller for half a season could potentially make us alot more than any feeble transfer fee we may recieve.
