In fact, in the long run Harewood might be the better option, as he's younger and would probably demand lower wages. definately, since leaving west ham he has been poor but again i think that has alot to do with the fact he didnt get a run in the team due to other players. Gabbidon would be good too i think, he seems to be finished at west ham really, going by wikipedia he signed a 2 year deal in july 2007, doesnt mention a renewal since, so he could be out of contract.

After reading some daft threads about van nistelrooy, shevchenko, jo and owen! lets try and be serious. Martin O'Neill said last month he would sell Harewood for £1.5m, now if he can play like he did in last couple of seasons at west ham i think he is worth the gamble. if we can get £2m for barry then it would cover Harewood transfer fee and barrys wage will cover harewoods. He is the type of strong target man we need for cl games. my opinion anyway, any one else agree?

i hope weir continues like the last 2 or 3 seasons. i just dunno if he is going to be able to play 50-60 games next season, i think we need someone as backup. i think we need to keep webster to play part in spl so that weir can have a rest now and again so is ready for likes of man utd, barca, real madrid and co.

Brek Shea, american youth who can play left back, left mid and striker. would be a handy addition.

He said himself in a recent interview that he wants to play in premiership in the next few years. so as much as i'd like to see him here to retiring i dont think so.

I definitely agree that Beasley, and his pace, will be vital for us in these games. McGregor is a big game player too, capable of spectacular saves (such as THAT save against Werder Bremen). sounds good, i think we need dmb, possibly 5 man midfield with above mentioned 4, davis right, edu, thommo, mendes in middle and beasley left. strong midfield for us i think. because we all know its going to be a 4-5-1 in europe so this midfield is ideal. miller alone up front, i'm not sure about, hopefully boyd can improve playing alone and we might do ok!!

your right, we would be so strong with hutton, altho nothing away from whittaker but hutton was immense the last season with us
