  1. Dear graeme or graham or whatever,

I read your story of when you were a young Rangers fan, when you stood, alone, amidst a sea of irishness, on the terracing at Ibrox. And that you celebrated a Rangers victory, in the sellik end no less, and emerged totally unharmed.

    Maybe it was the Halitosis.

Ps gray ham, i have just heard from a sellik supporter who tells me of a similar situation he had, except his experience took place in The Rangers end at porkheid, unfortunately, unlike you, the young kelt didnt live to tell the tale.He was kicked and punched and tortured, raped pillaged, abused in ways that would horrify any right thinking individual.

    Spearsy I salute your indefatiqueability

  2. Spartak Moscow fans have dubbed Aiden McGeady as McGreedski and threatened revolt over the vast sums being offered to the winger.

Sportsmail understands the unsettled Celtic star has been offered £2.5million a

year after tax with the Russians in excess of £50,000 a week substantially more than the sums currently provoking unrest among Spartak fans.

Although initially reluctant to move to Russia, Spartak sources were confident last

night they had secured their man. However, his welcome could be less warm from

team-mates and supporters over the willingness of his new suitors to smash their

    salary structure for him.

The final throw of the dice for under-fire coach Valery Karpin, McGeadys arrival would not be unanimously popular, with Spartak fans leader Ivan Katanaev declaring: Who is McGeady? He didnt play anywhere, except for Celtic, so why are we praying he joins our Spartak?

Kostya Hlebnikov, a 24-year-old Spartak fan, was equally unhappy, saying: He should be called McGreedski not McGeady for asking for more money.

Just look at him he is interested only in money. If Spartak pays more, he will join the club.

But for £10m, we could get something we really need, like a new arena. He is being offered over £40,000 per week more than anyone in Spartak is paid.

He wants a personal contract. I dont think a player with his abilities deserves such big money.

    Aiden McGeady

In Moscow: McGeady is being showed around

Moscow newspaper Sport Express also expressed concerns over Spartaks willingness to pay McGeady more than other players.

An editorial read: In Spartak, they always kept to a very reasonable rule of limit on footballers wages. They believe that a big difference in players incomes is bad for the

    teams morale and spirit.

Two million pounds a year, which the press talk about now, clearly exceeds this. Evidently, it was the only way to lure him to Spartak.

The paper also predicted McGeady would be homesick and feel low, as if in exile.

More favourably, however, Sport Express added: In Scotland, they called him The King of the Wing and he was highly valued for his great versatility.

McGeady was yesterday shown around Spartaks Soviet-era training base as the Russian club rolled out the red carpet to the player, his girlfriend and agent.

McGeady is in Moscow, we are showing him everything, said a source. We are very close to getting his signature.

The club imposed a media blackout as the 24-year-old was shown the spartan training camp with three pitches, one heated, an hour and a half outside Moscow.

McGeady has also been offered an interpreter, bodyguard, driver and chef to ensure he can cope with language problems and settle in a city that yesterday remained shrouded in smog caused by peat and forest fires.

There was also a visit to the rented Luzhniki Stadium, where Celtic earned a 1-1 draw under Gordon Strachan. Currently without their own arena, Spartak plan to build a new stadium as part of Russias 2018 World Cup bid. Spartak sit eighth in the Russian league, 19 points behind Zenit St Petersburg.

  3. sometimes it takes 1 person to push a snowball down a hill to create something, you 4boysandabaw are the pusher of snowballs . i sir salute you

    Thank you mate,

that is, if you pardon the poofy expression, lovely, I hadnt thought of it that way.

well you should because one day your work will be recognised by all

you are an inspiration to most of us, even ive started reading books without pictures :D

It was the picture (of Williams unmarked grave) wot done it.

  4. 4 boys that what a wonderful gesture and undertaking - my cap is doffed to all of you.

I believe there was some local media interest ?

There was, a reporter, girl, and a photographer, bloke. The photographer walked away with a VB sticker on his bag, with full awareness that it was there.

  5. I attended William McBeaths headstone dedication in Lincoln today, I am humbled and privilged, just under a year ago I posted on RM about me going down to Lincoln to put a small plaque there as a temporary marker, believing that the club would immediately be doing something about it, how naive am I. It was Rangers supporters all over that done it. I applaud you all.

If all Bears were VanguardBears, no one could touch us.

  6. I thought that was a good article, and highlights the obvious lack of equality when it comes to dealing with sectarianism on both halves on the divide. Another example I'd throw in would be when Falkirk hosted Celtic on Rememberance Sunday, and the minute's silence was tarnished with some idiots chanting pro-IRA songs, and the next day, Britney had the gall to praise Celtic for their 'impeccable' observation of the silence.

However, we don't do ourselves any favours by shouting 'F*ck the Pope'. Don't tell me that has anything to do with defending our clubs honour, as it is offensive to every single RC who has served our great club in the past- if anything, it tarnishes the club.

What if I was protesting against The Rangers car park being used for the pope visit, would FTP be acceptable then.

  7. They really are beneath comtempt, using cover of 'dignity' to pepetuate their lies about us.

I really wish we were playing somebody else that day.

Manti i would refuse to play them that day, or refuse them tickets for the game and tell the whole world why.

I would like a campaign going, we dont want to play them on the 40th anniversary, we want to remember in peace.

  8. I can offer a reply to Moonlighters query regarding the "invite". In a related thread on this forum several weeks ago I asked if The Fouders Committee would have a representative at William McBeaths dedication service. That admittedly isnt an invite, nor am I in a position to offer an invite. As far as I see there was no reply to that question.

Ideally I think each Fans Forum or Group should have at least one representative there.

  9. What I find astonishing about this is that Rangers Supporters are paying money to other Rangers Supporters to tell them about Rangers history.

I retract that statement, stupid thing to say. People are free to do what they want in supporting Rangers, I mean no offence to those who have done and enjoyed the tour. I still recommend the DIY tour though.

Assuming the DIY means an alternative? or??

Do it Yourself, though i accept that others dont want to do it themselves and wish to do it in an organised group of likeminded folk.

Serious question, how many fans are in a position to give themselves a DIY tour?

That is a seriously silly statement.

    No disrespect intended.

It would depend on the depth of feeling you have for Rangers, going around Glasgow is not hard to do for someone living in Glasgow. My depth of feeling is such that i went beyond Glasgow, I was in a position that I could do that on my own. Without disrepect I dont see what your problem is with a DIY tour.

  11. I first heard about The Book bfore it went on sale when the daily retard done a story on it. It struck me right away especially the founder who died in the poorhouse, there was a time when I might have died in the poorhouse, by the grace of God I didnt.

Anyway, I done a wee bit of searching online and found a thread on one of those geneolgy or ancestry forums, it was by Gary Ralston asking for help with William McBeath as he had got stuck or had hit a dead end. One of the posters came up with something and said I think this is your man, It was a different spelling of McBeath and different age, but the same wife and children. Ralston was very grateful. So a shout out to that man or woman, maybe without that William would still be missing.
