With some of the recent signing links, continued boardroom in fighting, the familiar brand of outdated football, our continued failure to address our pathetic scouting system and our continued poor public relations efforts, I sense that we have wasted the last year. Granted these are exceptional times but still who could honestly say that we have made best use of our clean slate? The unimaginative securing of the third division title against the plumbers and postmen has been scant payback for an exceptional response from the fans. We can only hope for a major transformation over the close season to drag the club out of the dark ages. I don't think the fans could stomach another false dawn.

Out of the players linked with us so far only nicky law and potentially cammy bell could make the step up I fear. Surely the signing policy should be geared to adding 2 or 3 young potential stars to our books a season who could be part of a championship winning team rather than looking at short term fixes in novo, miller, Boyd, smith etc. is this really the limit of our imagination? If we get the team right the rest of it will fall into place!
