Even though he's got a new pc, I'd still recommend Counter-Strike (or Counter-Strike 1.6 as often referred to) - yes, it looks ugly BUT the it's still the best multiplayer FPS game out there. It will take a while to get good at mind you.

it was all on one game, 1st 3 seasons i was with gers - last two seasons i had back to back domestic trebles and a sick team(beckham, kris commons - immense in SPL, vermaelen, coloccini etc)
