  1. We have nothing to fear from Hearts. Suso? Geez peace. If Rooney can't score against us etc. etc. The Turkish Champs held scoreless.

A fresh Jela, a fresh Weiss...

There is nothing that Hearts can do on Saturday that even causes me the slightest concern. I simply look forward to Jefferies moaning about the result and trying to blame officials etc. I'm already laughing.

3-0 to The Rangers. Miller, Jela, Big Lee.

  2. alright thanks for your help, ill hopefully be able to get it sorted for the motherwell match.

oh, and its even worse cuz im a goddamn smoker. standing out there in -40 plus fucking windchill having a ciggy. not fun.

usually layers will do the trick though. long underwear and sweats under the jeans, hoodie and leather jacket underneath the boarding coat, and coffee in hand and yer set.

You can buy it anytime. so you can still do it for the Hearts match.

And give up smoking mate. Don't give Harper any more of your dosh. (tu)

Anyway, I've heard it's not good for the health?

    Cheers!

    WATP

    Take care.

  3. Just been reading thru some of the comments. Check out this one from a Yank (Arsenal supporter btw)

I was impressed that Rangers could visit Old Trafford, one of the most difficult venues to play at and against one of the best football clubs on Earth and hold Man Utd to a draw. WOW! On that night Rangers FC were equal to Man Utd, every manager in the world should strive for that lofty goal.

Some folks on this planet actually DO have some common sense after all? We, of course, know this instinctively.

  4. alright cheers!

is sometime a pain in the balls having to get up at 5:45 in the morning to surf around looking for streams and missing the first 15 mins of the game in the process.

how much does it cost>??? or is it per match as well for rangers live? will it work on a macbook pro?

Yes it will work on a MAC -- it's Flash. It costs approx $10 per match. You can buy a season's pass which reduces the price. Up to you.

And don't forget, your hard earned (some of it anyway) goes to the club.

    From the site:

Do I need special software ?

You will require Adobe flash player. This is available at adobe.com.

You will also need to enable Javascript.

RangersTV will work on a Mac or a PC (Windows or Linux).

Winnipeg? f*cking cold there in the winter mate!

    I live in the GTA

  5. That, is a tremendous article. Well done to Alex Anderson.:praise:

    100% spot on.

btw: Man U set up against Valencia for a draw the other night. Played as anti football as you will see apparently. (I did not see the match. I just heard about it via Canadian commentators at half time). And? Snuck a 1-0 victory. Anti-Footbal by Sir Alex?: No.. Brilliant managing no doubt. Just like Jose.

Ah well. I'll take our Anti Football all the way to Wembley. I'd take Dublin as well. But, this is our year. Once we get into the last 16 and we unleash Jela on the CL? Look out.

    Great article.

  6. No can do mate. Only RSC's get the feed via satellite.

Best thing is to use Rangers Live. (www.rangerstv.tv)

Hook your laptop up to your TV and you'll barely be able to tell the difference. Streams on the whole are excellent with pre match, half time, and post match coverage.

I've been using it since day 1 and it has improved every year.

For CL matches, use UEFA.COM and buy the stream from there. $5 or so. Well worth it and great streams. No sense using the free streams.

  7. i would have replaced Miller with Weiss instead of Lafferty and played him right up top. If you remember his run right through the middle v Hibs where he gave the defender a 5 or 6 yard start and just failed to get by, then i think he could open teams up in the last dying minutes.

Good point mate. I think Big Kyle's 'specialty' now is coming on for Miller and running the ball to the corner flag :-)

He did ever so well doing that against the sheep on his (first?) touch.

I suspect we'll see Weiss vs Valencia. Don't ask me why.... But IF we do, you can bet that Walter has drilled into him to track back. Although to be honest, I have seen him plenty of times in our penalty box or thereabouts getting stuck in. So I don't think that would be an issue.

I also expect Valencia to be much, much quicker on the ball than Bursaspor. His quickness might not be a luxury, but a necessity?

  8. all you've done in this thread is slightly change a comment i made in an earlier thread.

you've even had the cheek to use my 'if it's not broken don't try and fix it' line!!

maybe next time just agree with me in other people's threads and save yourself time and effort (tu)

Really? Well, it's a common line that neither your nor I own. My humble apologies anyway. (tu)

I did read another Weiss thread and didn't see this particular point addressed. So, I took time out of my hectic schedule to start this thread. :-)

  9. Personally, I'd drop Davis. For me, he looks lost in the Champions League. He's just not showing much confidence on the ball. Plus, it would give Weiss an opportunity to play on his favoured right hand side.

It would bring us one thing right away.

I think Steve's set piece deliveries this year have been terrible. Not up to his standard. He is floating the ball in all the time. Weiss? Killer deliveries. Whipped balls in.

Those are the balls that create goals. Steve's at the moment, are floated in to the Keeper.

    Not happening though. (tu)

  10. Tell you what, that was one cracking header to Naisey.

What I like about Big Kirk is simple. An honest lad. Gives 100% every shift for The Rangers. And his Cl form is quite sensational, The ManU match. He looked like a 30 million quid defender!

As the OP said. Credit where credit is due.

    Well done Kirk Broadfoot. (tu)

Lastly, his clear state of 'upset' after Valencia broke his leg. This is a guy that is as normal as can be. I thought he spoke articulately about that incident, his clear shock of what he saw. He showed a very human, and vulnerable side to a professional football player.

A good man is our Kirk Broadfoot.

  11. My first thought was always to replace EDU.. but it seemed everytime I thought that, there he (Edu) was muscling someone off the ball. lol

So.. it's a hard one given that we are achieving success.

Edit: If I HAD to make a change late, I'd have taken Miller off, brought on Weiss, and put Naisey up top.

  12. Watching both CL matches, I have tried to think both times who would I take off to make way for Vladimir. To be honest, if I was manager, I would not have made any changes given the way the matches were going.

Perhaps the Valencia match might offer us an opportunity to find Vladimir a place, but to be honest, does anyone think there is room for him? It's the 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' syndrome. If we had lost last night, perhaps we'd change it. But we didn't, and we looked a pretty decent side as well.

I'd love to see what he could do in the CL. Maybe we'll just have to wait until the last 16 to see Vladimir and Jelavic?

How much are the tickets for Wembley again?

    (tu)

  13. I think in this formation he seems to play with a bit more freedom and less pressure. He knows if he gets forward he has Papac who goes across and covers him and he has McCulloch/Edu to drop in front of the back four and make it a 5 again.

He has played well in the two CL games so far. The problem's start when he plays in the SPL.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. And vice-versa, I saw Kirk covering for Sasa on a few occasions as well.

  14. There are 2 great mysteries in this world.

    1) What happened before the Big Bang?

    2) Why does Big Kirk play so well in Europe?

I think #1 will be resolved before #2.

Great shift by the big man though... Fantastic focus for the header to Naismith.

  15. I know Walter is getting all the plaudits for the win last night. And rightly so.

I'd just like to say that it was Durrant that watched them on several occasions. We were never in any danger last night, we started well, got in good positions etc.

I'd like to think that Durranty's scouting reports also contributed to our comfortable victory last night. They never surprised us.

Unsung hero? Good effort from everyone management and players.

  16. He is an awful footballer. Too slow on the ball. Let's the ball go past him (when a defender is near) to get it on his right foot. Juvenile stuff. I know we won tonight and I'm as pleased as anyone. But I agree. EDU is just not very good.

In thinking about it, there was a debate about him and the fact he did not grow up playing Football. It shows. What he should do by instinct, he needs to think about. I think that's his basic issue. He'll never progress to a level his athleticism should allow him to because of this.

I think we were lucky tonight to be fair. We gave the ball away so often it was getting embarrassing. But hey, 4 out of 6 pts. I'll take it even if it's ugly sometimes.
