  1. Ok then. How many are first choice players for their country? If they were that good then they would be first choice for a shite Scotland team. Oh wait.... they're not

Well, to be honest I don't really rate Berra but I would say playing in the Premiership week in week out will have certainly improved him.

Fletcher's been kept out of the side by Kenny Miller, but he would certainly be in the squad if he didn't decline selection. He's going to be an important player over the next few years hopefully.

And Charlie Adam, well I think he's a regular now and will continue to be for the next 5+ years probably.

What about McGeady? He looks pretty sharp for Spartak now, much better than when he was at Celtic. Like someone else said Mikel Arteta has improved greatly since leaving the SPL.

Robert Snodgrass has improved out of sight.

James McCarthy certainly looks like an improved player. As does McCarthur.

Danny Wilson will probably improve at Liverpool (be honest, its likely).

  2. Gordon - went from first choice keeper for his country to what? Fletcher - just about to get relegated AGAIN, Berra - getting relegated. Adam - possible relegation. Thanks for correcting me on that one.

    :angsum:

Sounds to me like your rating the teams, not the players. Aside from Gordon of course who, through no fault of his own (McGregor is a god) is now Scotlands number 2.

  3. Seems that way because they have the help from a huge majority of the mhedia upping their players prices and values every time they get mentioned in the rhags, whereas they play ours down.

Jamies right, they wont get anything near what they think they will get.

I hope your both right. Although they managed to get £9.5 million for McGeady, and I didn't even think he was on top form.

  4. People were saying it's a shame Rangers did their fighting off the pitch and not on it .

Dortmund were just an example, there's plenty examples. Don't think Falcao cost Porto much. Necid the Czezh player for CSKA cost peanuts and he's scored a lot of goals in the Europa Cup this season.

    Have a look yourself :craphead:

Sorry to bring up FM again but both of them were legends! Come on Rangers, get your copy :P

  5. they signed a dozen players to fing those 3 the total cost all in will be huge and dont bet on them getting 20 million.

That is also true. I don't know about them getting 20 million but it's bad enough them even being in the team.

  6. Unirea had at least 3 or 4 really tidy players, especially the Argie left back but as has been stated on here before other countries dont have the same limitations as we do when it comes to work permits.

Work permit issues do make it harder no doubt about that. Especially in FM lol

  7. Your right, it is easier said than done but it makes you sick when the tarriers can pick up 3 players for a combined total of under £4m and the estimated sell on is gonna be anything up to £20m. It all comes down to scouting, ours has been lagging behind for to long now, especially in the world-wide market. Theres no doubting theres players there.

Yes. Makes me so annoyed to think they've picked up Izaguirre, Kayal, Hooper and Commons for relative peanuts.

We need to improve a lot behind the scenes, especially scouting and marketing.

  8. There's a load of cheap foreign players around for peanuts that would rip the pish in this league. Look at some of the Dortmund players who were inexpensive.

The only thing is that the club would need to know such markets and we don't.

Sadly, I know...but wouldn't it be silly to overlook someone in your own back yard?

  9. The time it's taken Naismith to perform is far, far more than what is required.

But I think his poor form is due to being unlucky with injuries and management not getting anything out of him.

If Goodwillie was to take years to perform to an adequate level I would not be interested!

Naismith was a far better player than Goodwillie when we signed him, but I still think Goodwillie is a useful addition.

Agree on all counts except I think Goodwillie is just as good as Naismith was.

  10. Goodwillie is 22, hardly that young. A decent 22 year old foreigner could destroy this league more so than Goodwillie.

You mention Naismith which is quite ironic as he signed 4 years ago and has only performed this season.

For two million? It's not impossible, but certainly an ask indeed.

Jelavic was four and that was bloody cheap considering.

  11. The question was answered no dodging here, i think you lost it when you and Gunslinger went into poster love mode.

Why are you doing the daft quotes now.

So you say there's no guarantee, yet you still use this as your argument for us not to sign Goodwillie?

I'm getting bored now think I'm gonna leave this one here.

  12. If you had something sensible to say rather than spout pish about EPL teams who have lots more options than us i would take you seriously too.

If you honestly think Ally can sign players and give them two seasons to come good your retarded.

Never mind any other argument ok. Answer me this, how can you tell whether a player is going to hit the ground running or not?

If you can do this, then you possess a most valuable skill indeed.

  13. Stop quoting me unless you have something sensible to say.

The players Ally signs have to hit the ground running we cant wait two or three seasond for them to find their feet.

You do see the difference of the teams and players quoted.

    Can you understand that.

No, I don't understand it, at all. Sorry for quoting you.
