  1. As I think others have suggested isn't this just a case of a club having to go along with its fans' emotions, while relying on the authorities to over rule the decision?

If there is no sanity left in Scottish football and no decision for Rangers to enter a second tier division, then I personally would be sorry to see St Mirren go - I thought they played an attractive brand of football against Rangers, rare in the SPL.Have to admit I've only seen the one game.

  2. Ffs how many punishments do they want? Really pisses me off. I know we did wrong and I don't expect is to get off scot free but at the end of the day we have had a 10 point deduction which all but ended our title run. We won nothing for the first time in years which was directly as a result of admin. We have been forced to form a new company to run the club, we have been demoted at least one division and we have lost all our best players easily worth £20m for nothing and we can't play in Europe for 3 years. Aye we have got off scot free all right

Surely Rangers was second in the league before administration and had been kicked out of Europe and the cups well before?

Not everything can be blamed on Administration.

  3. I want RFC to remain in the SPL but the only reason we are in this situation is due to the criminal behaviour of one man, Craig Whyte. The fans, players, employees of RFC have done nothing wrong. Even the old board didn't want Whyte. What do we have to apologise for? Whyte deliberately brought the Club to its knees, we had points deducted and we have lost nearly all our main players (for no return). We have a skeleton team with a possible transfer embargo. You want to accept further punishment which will reduce our chances of any success even further, where is the fairness in that? The SPL clubs don't just want us punished once but on a continuing basis, however we are to remain in the SPL to ensure these clubs get money from our presence.

And you are happy to accept that?????

The fans are innocent but the management, even pre Whyte , seems to have strayed into questionable practices, practices that the other clubs believe gave them an unfair advantage.
  4. Yep, Ally has stuck by our team when it would be easier to leave.

Did this generation fail to learn what loyalty is?

I'm a bit puzzled by this implicit comparison between the loyalties of manager and players. It seems unfair.

The players who leave have credible c.v.s and seek to preserve their careers by moving to clubs that will offer better standards of play than Rangers can. What would it do to an International to play in Division 3? Of course there will be players who are at the end of their careers who lose little by being loyal.

Ally is different. He hardly has a managerial cv that would enable him to move to another club and has nothing to lose by sticking with the club: his loyalty, which I do not question, has no cost.

  5. Has anyone calculated how easy it would be to get back into the SPL from the Third?

I asssume that the best players will depart - certainly the foreign ones, as their careers would be damaged by playing at the levels they would endure. And don't forget they have secured walking rights.

Once promoted to the SPL how quickly could we get back to a top two position given that new recruits could not be attracted by European games?

  6. I'm not sure I've got the guts to put forward such an uhpopular view, especially as I am far removed from Ibrox, but....

Ally has obviously been a source of great inspiration in the darkest days, but does that make him a great manager?

Remember the criticisms of his performance before the disaster - his Europe failure, the early exit from the cups, Rangers losing its lead in the SPL, his eccentric team selection ( and of course his signing of Matt McKay and then failure to give him a fair chance).

The financiers may be looking for someone with more imposing managerial credentials, especially if his presence does not guarantee the retention of the players.

In such a case one would hope that he could occupy a post that would better exploit his qualities and status.

  7. Your right to be concerned mate.

What is the long number on the front of your card and the last three numbers on the back and I will check it out for you. I might need more details so I will get back to you shortly if I need expiry date etc.

Is it wise to hand over such details?

  8. We've known this for ages. Not really anything new.

    Were the figures given?

Surely the BBC is doing what would be expected of a news organisation. Would we expect them to protect Celtic if that club were in a similar situation? I'm sure there would be screams on the forum.

  9. I think we do as well but the stories about him and Ally have been doing the rounds for a while so it looks like he will go

Up front was where we were short at the start of last season and now we have no Jelly possibly no Laff and Healy will also be away.

    So that leaves

    Little Looks decent enough

Big Lee has he got another year in him?

Hemmings needs to stay fit and get a run

McKay just a kid but could make it

Add in Naisy but I prefer him attacking from mid field.

And thats about it,,,, please tell me ive missed out someone :P

You've missed "in" Matty, who left months ago for a Korean club.

Incidentally he is I think 29.

As I've observed elsewhere all this demonsterates the need for the resurrection of that hallowed Rangers tradition the weekly McKay thread. And it would take people's minds off all the stress and turmoil of the club's future.

To aid in this note that there are two internationals coming up in the next month in which no doubt he will star for Australia.

  10. I like the guys effort but we must have better

Fringe players like Salim Hutton McKay Mitchel Fleck will need trimmed (pun wtf)

one or 2 of them will need to go

Matty is playing for a Korean club, and has been gone for months.

This is what happens when the weekly McKay thread disappears. Come on , someone start a new one.

  11. A wee bit of good news.

Fergies team Perth glory are in the "grand final" of the ASL

Not a bad effort considering the season got off to a slow star. They finished third in the comp then the top 5 teams play off in a sort of knock out comp with the winners being crowned Australian champs.

some footage of the semi-final below.

    Fergie in video at end.

Spot the two Tim's in the video behind the goals (4:17). Probably wore the tops because fergie is manager of the opposition.

Glory were rather lucky - their opposition missed a penalty and a plethora of certain goals, and lost in the penalty shoot out

  12. McKay comes off as a tosser in that article "wish i had done my research" "i think Korea will suit my style more"

    Jeeeeeeeez. Have a sook.

The point is that koreans, and Japanese do play a style more like his than Rangers - and this is presumably one of the reasons Ally didn't play him. Craig Moore who played a more Rangers style while at the Roar could have given him better advice.

  13. tbh hes a 29 year old who is wanted by clubs from the big leauges of Saudi Arabia and Korea. Indeed his last spell in Saudi Arabia saw him play 0 games.

Imo there is something not right about him. We move on, ffs we lost Laudrup and Cooper before him and still done no to bad.

Anyone else heard of this spell in Saudi Arabia? I haven't.

  14. He wasn't prepared to be patient by the sounds of things in that interview. Sounds like he fancies himself.

He's an international and was a key member of the Australian team ( not playing this week because of suspension ). He's had hardly any first class games for Rangers in months - and every sign ,except for the recent interview with Ally, that his exile to the stands would continue. The Australian coach is considerably less than happy, and one would imagine that hangingon in the desperate hope that Ally would finally relent would have meant the end of Matt's international career.

Given his role in the Australian team, his having captained the Roar to the double of premiership and grand final, and his being universally admired in Australia, I would hope he does fancy himself. Pity Ally did not appreciate him, or could not fit him into the Rangers more traditional British style of football. (As I've argued before, he would have been better suited to St Mirren's style)

  15. tin hat on but I'd release goian and play Perry every game. I'd release whittaker or sell him and use Cole and broadfoot. I'd release or sell bedoya and mckay and use Davis and edu. I'd release papac as his deal is almost up anyway

then I'd release healy and use hemmings. These youngsters are our lifeblood now.

Ally has mucked up any chance of wads for Matt. He obviously has hopes

as he refused any chance of a free release back to the Roar, but how many games has McKay had in the last year?

(By the way what has happened to the weekly provision of a McKay thread?)
