  1. Was it not 37-40m he said we needed if we didn't go up?

Who knows, we need so much addressed at Rangers and immediately.

Will he step up? Personally i'm not expecting too much from him, i'm prepared to be disappointed at the level of actual investment.

Did he really say we needed 40m if we didn't go up? Fuck me.

I personally think it could be done with a decent manager and 5m. Sign experienced pros and good youngsters, the way we should have done in the lower divisions.

  2. Regardless of what happens in the final game, and I think we will go through, McCall has show enough to be given the manager's job on a permanent basis, at least for the first season or two back in the top flight.

That was a superb display of defensive organisation and hard work unimaginable under the previous idiots, and follows what has been a marked improvement in attitude and application since he took over. He is still constrained by having previous idiotic signings on the books and will only get better for us. I honestly think we would have strongly challenged and possibly beaten Hearts had he been in from the start.

I would hope this would be echoed by most bears now, aside from the usual head in the sky dafties who want Eddie Howe, Jurgen Klopp or whoever.

  3. Cathro is a daft, head in the clouds suggestion from folk in denial about where we currently stand. Even if he wanted the job there's no guarantee he'd be able to turn things around having no local knowledge. A foreign coach can wait a few years, we have a rebuilding job to do and need an experienced head to hit the ground running.

  4. Stuart McCall for me. We desperately need a period of solidity and stability with a wise head to get us back to competing in the SPFL and he is the perfect candidate.

Some folk need to lay off the crack pipe throwing these relatively well known English and foreign coaches' names around. Why on earth would they even want to come here just now?

  5. Jocky Wilson was better than Sandy Lyle or Hendry. At least he had charisma and all three don't count as proper sports.

Chris Hoy competes in a minority sport with multiple medals benefitting from huge lottery funding and cutting edge sports science. It's not even proper cycling like the Tour de France, just some meatheads chasing an old guy riding with a basket who looks like he's going to the shops in Hyndland or something. I'd put Robert Millar above Hoy,

Murray is easily the best Scottish sportsman in my lifetime. He's have at least six or seven slams had he been around in say the Lleyton Hewitt era rather than three of the best players ever. Just wish he'd sort his head out.

I'd have Jackie Stewart and Ken Buchanan up there too.

  6. McCall would do a very good job for us. Anyone who's paid attention to what he achieved at Motherwell on buttons would recognise this, including beating the dhims.

The problem is he won't get it while Ashley is there due to his tacit support for the three bears group, so he would seem out of the picture in the immediate future.

  7. There's teams up the top of the SPFL that have cost comparative buttons to assemble. I don't see why we couldn't do the same very quickly and take it from there.

It might be a shock to some fans given that we spent so long paying big transfers and/or wages, but given what we've endured in the last three years it would be an improvement.

Main problem obviously is off field uncertainty. If we could get McCall in he'd get us moving but he clearly only wants in with the King mob.

  8. Who's most?

    I thought we'd at least give it a go...we didn't.

That's the worst Rangers performance I've ever seen, not a single shot in the second half.

It was a old firm game and we bottled it from the kick off and showed zero fight.

    I was disgusted tbh

It's probably the worst old firm performance I've seen that I can remember, but fuck me there's been plenty worse performances than that this season

  9. Frustrating knowing what we could have done with a bit of tenacity and organisation. I hope the off field crap starts to settle down and we can get a strong manager in to sort the squad out asap, although I was relatively pleased with the determination shown in the second half.

  10. I know this maybe isn't a good time to be speculating given the huge game at the weekend, but given yesterday's events and the fact that Kenny has handed in his notice already it's a topic that can be freely discussed nonetheless. Given that Ashley seems to have strengthened control of the club, is it now a foregone conclusion that the next manager is going to be his appointment? I see Felix Magath is now favourite with the bookies and McCall has drifted to 10/1 (presumably sort of supporting the 3 bears would scupper his chances).
