Wishful thinking.:thinking:Come Sunday evening the League table won't lie. The best team will be top. I'm confident that will be Man City. Who have shown a determination and desire that I used to see in Rangers teams managed by Sir Walter. To suggest they have been unconvincing is also not true. Shots against all season have been kept to a minimum. Not one side, even in the games they lost had more possession or shots on target.

It's not wishful thinking. I would rather that both teams could lose if that was possible. Klopp and Guardiola are both chequebook managers who wouldn't cope at a team like Newcastle or Crustal Palace, deprived of the ability to spend at will. But it seems a lot of people on here are unaware of the script that seems to be being played out in front of us. Like I say, we'll see.

  2. Well we'll have to see. But City have not been good recently despite 13 wins. They have been anything but convincing and I think it is in the script that they will end up with only the League Cup (which is worse than winning nothing for them).

Haha, fuck Liverpool and all the media who were frothing at the mouth for them to win the title. Fuck them all!!!

I think Liverpool are going to win the title. Do you really think they will lose or draw to Wolves after tonight? Of course not but I can see City failing to win t Brighton as they have been shit for weeks now.

Were Widnes not the team, not that long ago, who were the "unbeatables" and won everything in sight?

Remember Eddie Waring all right - UP and UNDER was his famous phrase.

You're probably thinking of Wigan, who won League and Cup doubles every year for seven years or something. Widnes had a good team at one time though and had a successful period, with a number of Wembley appearances. Those days aren't coming back for a long while.

Bournemouths turnover was 136 million 4% came from gate receipts.I follow Linfield over here in Northern Ireland was at the game yesterday we took 2000 fans to Crusaders the ground holds about 4000 it was packed for a semi pro game and it was old school football ... fans close to the pitch great banter and no fucking prima donnas on the pitch...I love it...Fuck modern football

Northern Ireland football is real football. I went over with my daughter for the first Linfield home game against Institute. If it wasn't for the cost of flying over we'd come very week. You feel like you're with proper football fans, not the Sky TV Premisership Brigade.

  6. Whatever happens tomorrow night, this result was more important. Not just because of the financial consierations but becuase it has stoped the media love in of "these great European nights at celtic park" which are used to portray them as the biggest club in Glasgow, Scotland, Britain, Europe, the universe etc. The optics are important and for the first time in a while their image is suffering. And that is without the paedo stuff in the news.

    Football has

Football has became very crass, tacky, tabloid, etc.

Players driving about in £100k cars with custom paint jobs, tattoos, £500 hair cuts, etc. It's new money, without much class, the sporting equivelant of a scheme rat getting lucky with a scratch card. Honestly, this Daily Star style image of football is what has turned me off largely.

Rugby still carries a degree of class with it's players, barring the odd exception. You're as likely to hear about Rugby players dating royalty, as you are a footballers spit roasting some orange faced, sell a story, tramp.

Rugby (union not league) has worked very hard to create that image and resembles smeltic in that respect. they get a way with loads and explain it by "just high spirits, old boy". I'm not keen on what modern football has become either but rugby union carries far too much unpleasant baggage for me ever to give them a free pass.

Article from the Daily rebel , always just assumed that espanyol fans were pro Catalan like their neighbours but fair play to the ones who travelled over

The clue is in the name. The population of Catalonia is not just comprised of Catalans. There are many non-Catalans living there, predominantly Andlausians who migrated there during the Franco period. An Osasuan fan told me a few years ago that Espanyol were the team for the Spanish speakers and the immigrants.

Go on bury your head in the sand, make it all go away. Its a forum and will be a taking point for years to come and we are still waiting on the Whyte case.

Whats wrong with being a fundamentalist, thats the kind of people the pope wants rid of, for his one world religion, they stand in his way to the truth and give way to spouting lies just like King.

It's difficult to know exactly where to start with this bollocks. There is a lot wrong with being a fundamentalist. It means that you are unwilling to ever consider the possibility that your views could or should be modified. Which is exactly what you are doing with your childish conspiracy theories.

  10. This is a bit like saying "wouldn't it be great if the world was perfect?". It is not going to happen and there is not point talking as if it might. Also, I think that if, by some miracle, it did happen, then some would very soon get disabused of the notion that it would be the total opposite of what we put up with now from hating fans of other teams.

  11. We had a great day, despite the result. Apart from the first 10 minutes or so, I thought Linfield played poorly and Glenavon deserved to win. Most importantly for me was seeing my 9 year old daughter full of excitement and singing along with the songs. We're hoping to find some cheap flights again next season and come over as often as possible.

  12. I'm going to this on Saturday with my daughter - really looking forward to it. It will be only the second time I've been to Belfast and the first cup final there. We went to watch Linfield v Glentoran when we visited three years ago and loved it. My daughter has got her Linfield training top and will be bringing her Linfield vuvuzela from last time. The weather forecast doesn't look too good but hopefully it will be a great day.

Cheers. Any idea of the name? The Lodge perhaps? So many pubs that the street has it's own website!

Other places would be SAMS (Southern Area Memorial Hall ) in Mill Street, Liverpool 8, Derry Social in Mere Lane Everton, New Campfield in Everton Road, Orange Centre in Everton Road. However, Liverpool are also playing tonight. I don't know if it is being televised but if it is it will get priority, as would most premiership to be honest.
