  1. SFA CHIEF EXECUTIVE STEWART REGAN

"In light of today's decision by the members of the Scottish Football League, the Scottish FA is committed to leading the challenge to reinvigorate the national game.

"This challenge requires the collective effort not just of the Scottish FA but the respective league organisations and all member clubs.

"Today is a watershed for Scottish football. There will, undoubtedly, be financial consequences on the horizon. None the less, with togetherness, an open mind, and innovative thinking, there can also be opportunity: opportunity to restructure the game and promote competitiveness, to place greater emphasis on development of young Scottish talent and to support the financial sustainability of clubs through the Financial Fair Play model..

"The Scottish FA has offered guidance and support to the respective league bodies during this process. The SPL and SFL enter a crucial phase ahead of the new season and they must reach agreement on the practical issues that require to be addressed within their jurisdictions..

"Ultimately, there must be an outcome that enables Scottish football to move on with consensus, clarity and confidence into a new era for the national game."

That suggests today's outcome is not what he desires, nor is it the final outcome.

If we play anywhere in Scotland next season other than 3rd Division it is going to be bonkers. Utter bedlam if its the SPL we start the season......

  2. Just heard on Sky that the SPL have their AGM on Monday, and a potential proposal could be to have another vote on accepting Rangers into the SPL!!!

Guy in my work [a tim] has a lot of involvement with junior league football - still reporting to Hampden. He has been saying SPL for weeks now.

There is no way Regan wants us in 3rd Division.

Pretty convenient they never filled the 12th SPL place with Dundee or Dunfermline sooner. Pretty confident the Dundee/Dunfermline vote on Monday will be 'delayed'.

  3. Now we know where we are playing.

The question is will all stands be open or is there a possibility of closing a stand for a few years. I will defo be getting my season ticket back but others won't I think

Just a question and not a doom n gloom

IF we are in Div 3 then I think Ibrox will be a sell out for the first [minimum] 5 home games thereafter could range between 25k-40k.

The novelty will wear off though and it could be reduced to 20k-30k so it would make sense to mothball parts of the stadium - save money on catering staff and stewarding.

  4. Slight rumour has it that Mols told McCoist he'd come back to Rangers if McCoist needed him.

Even if it's a lot of rubbish I'd be all for this, he's 41! And has kept himself very fit after retiring few years ago

Would you bring someone like Mols back in for D1/3 football? (after all Albertz and Laudrop played for Clyde few years back and done fine)

When a thread starts off with these 2 words it means "Me and my mate were pisht last night and were talking aboout...." or "I overheard 2 alchies talking to each other up the back of the bus"

It pains me when I see God's name misspelled.

  6. He probably thought he had made it in life the day he bought his blue Audi.

A Scottish reserve League would have aided his development. The difference between U19 and SPL first team is staggering, even if it is against fodder like Dunfermline and St Mirren. These teams have 'experienced' cart-horses who would just volley a young boy up and down the park.

He will never live up to the hype he got though.

  7. My dad told me he read that too

Andy Goram spoke about this at an after dinner event. Says he doesnt doubt Hateley at all and why would he lie about it anyway. Hateley and McCoist probably scared the shit out them. Goram also said something I thought was mental - Dale Gordon played 55 (I think) times for Rangers and was never in the losing side.

  8. We would have done Milan that year, they were there for the taking as the French proved.

As Boli proved. Marseilles were decent though; Barthez, Angloma, Boli, Desailly, Deschamps, Pele, Boksic, Voeller.

As much as I hate them I still laugh at the commentary: "Its a goal for Marseilles....Its Frank Sauzeeeee"

  9. Marseilles tried to bribe Hateley not to play against them but he politely told them to fuck off. Unfortunately they managed to get to Brugges as well, remember Hateley's shocking red card? And there is no way CSKA were bad enough to lose 6-0. Corruption at its worst. Maybe big Boli spilt the beans when he was steamin one night.

  10. First div, or the 3rd? What would u rather?

I would take the 3rd however the financial implacations would be hard.

Compared to first div and whatever sanctions we get

I wouldn't usually want us in 3rd Division just to shaft the other SPL clubs but now I do.

SPL clubs want us punished and would happily punt us to 3rd Division but it would seriously threaten their club so it is in their best interests we play in 1st Division.

We are to be relegated from a League we are not in to a League where nobody wants us - And only because Scottish Football need us.

This sporting integrity thing is ludicrous. Fans of other SPL sides are threatening to boycott this and that if we get entered into First Division without realising its probably what their chairmen drew up - They needed to shaft us up the arse yet had to tickle our baws at the same time.

SPL with no sanctions or we will start where we should for the sake of 'sporting integrity' in the 3rd Division and work our way up on our own merits. We are banned from Europe anyway. Would also be nice seeing the sheep, utd, hearts, etc going to the wall in the process.

  11. John Brown telling us not to renew season tickets yet he's going round to the over 80's to take their money personally? Is anyone planning a deal not inclusive of raping us through season ticket money?

Joking aside, Brown still has a lot more to answer imo. Andy Goram saying insisting Bomber has heavy financial backers is not enough for me amidst all this turmoil.
