I'll be using Rangers in the English Premier League, the route we should take in real life.

From my American perspective, I find it hard to completely understand/relate the "club before country" mentality (found in many Scottish and English fans). That doesn't mean that I view that as a lackluster choice, as it's a product of one's environment. I guess American culture, especially with living in the south, really espouses a "pride in country and state" nationalism. Additionally, this region of the U.S. favors college athletics over the professional leagues partly due to a lack of "connection" with these corporate ventures (greedy mercenaries; lack of atmosphere) as well as the aforementioned state pride/local representation. As a fan of the University of Alabama, I not only have a bond due to many family members and myself attending this institution but also the cultural history this school and my state share with each other and it's citizens. My secondary support lies with the U.S. National Team, who like it's Scottish equivalent, struggles with maintaining consistent success but still captivates my attention. After these two teams, I support the national teams of my ancestry Scotland (mother's side) and to a lesser degree England (father's) as well as a professional club in each nation (Rangers and Arsenal). Anyway, I thought a view from my area of the globe (this loyalty tier is shared by many of my peers) might be good for some variation. I am proud of my Scottish heritage and provide support to both the national team and Rangers FC with my time and money. 1. University of Alabama 2. US National Team 3. Scotland National Team 4.
