  1. Genuine question. How far back are you going with that list?

You can add Gordon Smith to the list of Rangers fans on there! Also, Craig Patterson regularly spoke well of us. Is he definitely a Hibee, as he also played for us!

The list is current, all named with the exception of Traynor contribute to BBC Scotland's football output.

Craig Patterson comes from a Hibs supporting family, he attended Easter Road with both his father and grandfather. We signed Craig from Hibs, he went on to play with Motherwell. Throughout, he remained, as he is today, a Hibs supporter.

Gordon Smith left BBC Scotland to be employed by Rangers at the beginning of Craig Whyte's reign. He has said on numerous occasions that there is a distinct bias against Rangers at BBC Scotland.

  2. D'Art,

I know you know that Spiers is a graduate of Divinity and Theology from St Andrews.

Walking in anothers shoes is something Spiers appears to have been doing throughout his 'support' for Rangers. Once, he got quite specific. He claimed he attended a New Years old firm fixture at Ibrox in 1975. Further, he claimed he and his father stood in their usual spot below the pie stall in the Broomloan Road(ra Sellik end) whilst replete in his Rangers scarf. Those shoes must have radiated love and friendship to those in the immediate proximity, because he remembers being encouraged by the Yahoos surrounding to continue to wear the red, white, and blue, "support yer yeam young man".

I also attended the same match wearing my own shoes and remember Rangers thumping ra Sellik 3-zip. I stood in the west Enclosure(ra Yahoos had a section of the Main Stand above and of course the Broomloan across the track) and watched the usual reaction of ra Yahoos to going 3-0 down ie bottles raining from the top of the terrace. Spiers memory is a false memory, no doubt influenced by his shoes. It's a convenient memory designed/crafted to reinforce a desired position.

His current position is that of, 'next best useful idiot'. Traynor has departed 'Your Call' and Chris McLaughlin is currently hors de combat. His fantasy will be indulged and he can be relied upon to faithfully relate the given briefings. He's a shoe-in.

  3. Could you post the list again please?

Rheinhart Gordon, Jonathan Sutherland, Liam McLeod, Michael Grant, and Charlie Mann - Aberdeen.

John Barnes, Chris McLaughlin, Tony Higgins, Murdo McLeod, Des McKeown, Annie McGuire - Sellik.

Pat Nevin, David Begg, Brian McLaughlin, Craig Patterson - Hibs.

Paul Mitchell, Alan Preston, John Robertson - Hearts.

    Stuart Cosgrove -St Johnstone.

    Jum Spence - Dundee United.

Chico Young, Chris Brookmyre, Steven Thomson, Dougie Vipond - St Mirren.

    Scott Davie - Raith Rovers.

Tam Cowan, Jane Lewis - Motherwell.

    Rob McLean - Ross County.

Derek Ferguson, Billy Dodds - as explained. The other was Jim Traynor- Airdrie.

  4. Charlie Mann is a long term contributor to BBC Radio Scotland's output, probably 25 years worth. He originates from Huntly and is an avid supporter of the Aberdeen. He is not a lonely Don at Pacific Quay, big Rheinhart Gordon, Liam McLeod, Jonathon Sutherland, Michael Grant, ......... etc are chorusing the Nothern Lights too. Charlie used to be a lot more senior but he took a 3 year sabatical as Hearts owner, Vladimir Romanov's Public Relations Officer. Jim Traynor was NOT the first BBC Scotland employee to take the poacher turned gamekeeper journey. Before his sabatical, Charlie regularly flashed his Dandy Don credentials by regularly sticking it on anything Rangers.

He returned to BBC Scotland a couple of years past and I have not heard any snide remarks or sniggering references to his time as Romanov's dolly. In fact, he was welcomed back into the fold with open arms despite not spilling the beans on Romanov(I suspect he signed an agreement to ensure no comment). Remember, Romanov has specifically refused to speak to BBC Scotland for a number of years, Charlie would have denied former colleagues access to information. Compare and contrast with the treatment being regularly reserved for Traynor, it would appear that Cosgrove, Spence, and English are determined to keep the hate warm with their constant sniping. We can only conclude that BBC Scotland's attitude to JT is personal and not principled. I am sure the Rangers factor in this equation would have helped swing it to the former.

Yesterday, post match; Charlie Mann had a wee rant about the size of the 45,000 attendance and their lack of engagement with game, particularly the subdued atmosphere in the second half. He arrived at the comfortable conclusion that 'defiance' was alone in motivating the Ibrox legions. Derek Ferguson interupted him and suggested the style of play might not be motivating the crowd, he enquired whether Barrie McKay had started? Charlie let the cat out the bag by initially answering, "who"? He recovered to begin shuffling his notes for his team sheet as Ferguson explained McKay and his contribution to Rangers. Charlie confidently interupted Derek with a firm, "no".

Honestly, Charlie Mann did not have clue on two counts during his 3-4 hours at Ibrox yesterday. Firstly, the subdued atmosphere was largely down to the tragic death of a fellow Bear during the match and it was blatently obvious he had never heard of Barrie McKay. Simply, Charlie did not want to be at the stadium and he did not engage with proceedings. This lack of awareness of all things Rangers at BBC Scotland will continue, recently on another forum(Gersnet) I listed over 30 names of those who regularly contributed to BBC Scotland's football output. There were several Yahoos, several Dandy Dons, a couple of Jambos, Hibees, Arabs, and another several Saintees, Raith Rovers, Motherwell, and Dumbarton supporters. Only two of the 30-odd could be considered Rangers men, one Billy Dodds is on record as, "no longer considering himself a Rangers supporter" and Derek Ferguson answers the question by continually hyping his beloved Accies.

BBC Scotland do not engage the Rangers support and have no intention of doing so anytime soon, Charlie Mann's woeful contribution yesterday proves the point.

  5. think he's been chopped for the interview withWhyte getting to filthy?

Oh, Chris McLaughlin remains working for the BBC, in Salford.

Now, why is BBC Scotland's Chief Football Reporter currently based in Salford?

All these breaking stories in Scottish football are being fronted by Jane Lewis. If she is doing the gig, why not give her the designation?

Perhaps when Chris McLaughlin's exile ends, he will be back to attend Peter's briefings and continue to tongue Peter's precious ring.

  6. Listening to BBC Radio Scotland yesterday, Tom English was fulminating on all things Rangers. Obviously, he had been briefed; "it is my understanding......" pre-fixed every saliant point. According to the conduit Tom, the league reconstruction proposals saw every club give a little bit for the betterment of Scottish football, however Rangers were being selfish. Further, both Charles Green and McCoist were being disingenious because it is Tom's understanding that Rangers have been continually briefed throughout the process.

Both Jum Spence and Stuart Cosgrove chorused their agreement, it was their 'understanding' too.

I wonder if Tom, Jum, and Stuart have been briefed as to the whereabouts of BBC Scotland's Chief Football Reporter, Chris McLaughlin? Surely by now, it is several weeks afterall; Peter must be looking for him. He was the guy he used to brief.

  7. Peter Lawwell expanded his club's opposition to the SPL season being extended in 2008. Apparently ra Sellik's micro-planned tour of the land of Lawwell's ancestors was time sensitive. Tokyo, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, ........................ beckoned and Peter had his grandfather's Imperial Navy uniform freshly laundered for landing on the seven islands.

Remember ra Sellik's pressing big, BIG tour of Japan?

    Dived faster than a Kamikaze.

  8. Different keys for different locks.

Try asking BBC Scotland as to the whereabouts of their Chief Football Reporter, Chris McLaughlin?

You know the Gollomesque individual that spent a year on the wasteground in front of the main stand. Dearest Chris has NOT been seen, NOR heard since he interviewed Craig Whyte 5-6 weeks past. Twenty-four hours before the broadcast of said interview, the entire contents were released on Phil McFournamesandcounting's blog. BBC Scotland announced there would be an internal enquiry into how such an event could transpire a couple of days later.

Surely, Chris was not supplying a fantasist tarred with the sectarian brush?

We should be told, where's Chris?

  9. The song continues to be sung by Kilmarnock fans, 'we are the Killie boys - up to their knees in Ayr United blood' and Hearts fans, 'we are the Gorgie boys - up to their knees in Hibee blood'. Both tems' supporters have sung their versions at Ibrox and ra Stydome in the last few seasons and the Glasgow PF has NOT asked the Polis to compile reports.

The offending line is, 'up to our knees in F..... blood'. If we change this to, 'up to our eyes in BBC Scotland lies'; will the Glasgow PF retain the same line?

It's a winable battle but the level of collective discipline required is the highest.

  10. David Begg's illness is depression.

He is another BBC Scotland employee that allowed himself to be heavily influenced by his various Producers. Any sectarian or oiffensive chanting emanating from the Rangers away support was highlighted during commentary and assurances of the SPL observer being approached to ensure his report contained the appropriate references. Similar behaviour from other groups of supporters(particularly ra Sellik), then it was ignored.

Begg was party to creating the BBC Scotland mantra that only Rangers supporters were offensive.

  11. I suspect the Record Editor, Allan Rennie and Sports Editor, Austin Barrett will be considering two in-house candidates for the vacancy available after Jim Traynor's departure. The Chief Sports Writer of the Daily Rebel/Sunday Liam will be between Mark(the Slug)Guidi and Gordon Waddell.

Now, the Slug likes his Dundee cake and likes to roast it and he has a clear advantage in his servile on-message contributions to Radio Snyde over the years. Who can forget Guidi uttering, "It's not that I hate Rangers, it's just that I dislike them"? Objective Host of ra Show, Bitter Martin sniggered in the background as the Slug stated his preferred prejudice.

Gordon Waddell is a Falkirk fan and his brother, Bruce was the last but one Editor of the Daily Record. He has a healthy dislike for both halves of the old firm but I am told particularly upsets Peter Lawwell.

Allan and Austin will make a decision then ask Lawwell if it's okay. Guidi is the obvious choice but I think Waddell will receive the nod and they'll make a real attempt to work him from the back. Stu Regan will be relieved, Lawwell will have to take his controlling arm out of his jacksie, to provide the necessary fortitude to Waddell.

  12. I believe he has resigned from the Record.

The current Record Editor, Allan Rennie is a Yahoo and a Lawwell Lamb to boot.

Nuremberg Hugh remains banned from ra Stydome due to a match report he did on a pre-season friendly. Rather than rile and rage against one of his journos being denied the right to ply his trade over a critical match report, Allan Rennie has bent himself over the table and allowed Lawwell to exercise the big wooden one on his arse. Further, last week the Record had the story and pictures on Stokes attending the RIRA fundraiser, Traynor believed it should be front page. Rennie intervened and ran the lead story on Rangers' investors as deliberate interference.

The shadow of 'Thugs and Thieves' has NEVER been lifted.

  13. Bauer Media has instructed Radio Snyde to re-establish a dialogue with the Rangers support. They have empirical evidence going back several years that the Bears have been disengaging. Thus, DJ is back and Ralston is added.

Too little far too late. In excess of quarter of a century where the Objective Head of ra Show has been Paul Cooney(former PRO at ra Sellik), Bitter Martin(Peter McGuire-the self styled 'Biggest Tim in Newarthill), Jim(ra Tim)Delahunt, and Gerry McCulloch(hosted 'TicTalk' on ra Sellik TV for five years.

I wonder what Delahunt uses as a crib sheet now that the Rangers Tax Case blog has been disappeared?

  14. Back in 2003, Ewing Grahame was sacked by the Herald for his disgraceful behaviour during Rangers away visit to Stutghart in the CL. Simply, he got pyshed and fell asleep in the press box during the game. He woke up and composed a fictional report and promptly fell asleep again. He missed the official party transport back to the airport and held up the team plane. The aircraft missed it's slot and was 3 hours late in taking off because of Grahame's indiscipline.

Bitter Ewing's report was a wishful work of fiction, he lost his position as the Herlad's, 'Chief Football Writer'.

  15. I suspect the 3-D aspect to both photos suggests these are RAF pictures taken to aid anti-aircraft defence planning. The docks and approaches to are the areas of tactical importance.

The pitch on Broomloan is the Albion(old training ground), now the car park. The other ground is the White City, now Strathclyde Police station.

  16. Well that's it, a choice of travelling to Stenny to take in East Stirlingshire versus Rangers in the Autumnal rain or sitting in the house in the dry and warmth listening to dull Dundonian drones.

I will be pulling on my duffle coat, what number of bus do I take to Stenny?

  17. I suspect BBC Scotland, an organisation groaning with integrity; has purchased a tape recording from Craig Whyte. Apparently, it has David Grier admitting Duff and Phelps knew of the Ticketus deal and expected to get away with denying this fact.

    Now,

    1. Did Grier know he was being recorded by Whyte over lunch?

    2. How much did BBC Scotland pay Craig Whyte for the recording?

    3. How did Mark Daly make it back from Barcelona so quickly to put that report together?

  18. Gerry (12 staples in my heart) McNee has retired to his white-walled cottage on coastal Donegal. He has left the sandstone villa in a mature acre amid Pollokshaws, the voice of a football was feeling deflated. The rural idyll beckoned and Gerry followed the strings of a soft harp.

Gerry's last publication was a 500 page tome on the Hollywood take on the aul sod, 'The Quiet Man'. Gerry claims to have viewed the film on more than 500 occasions. I believe Gerry is researching/penning a screenplay on a fellow Donegal resident, the title of the project, 'the Fantasy Man'. An everyday tale of a Rangers-hating bigot who changes his name every several years.

Gerry remains in regular e-mail contact with his cardiologist and Discount Office Supplies(best for staples).

  19. We know Thomson has received the go ahead from Channel 4's Regional Commissioning Editor, Stuart Cosgrove to do a documentary on 'the Rangers supporting underclass'. It's another manufactured concept by those industrious Rangers haters that populate large areas of both broadcast and print media.

Now, given Thomson's tweeting of the Ibrox Disaster memorial (ie John Greig's statue walking away from it's plynth) as a cheap dig at McCoist, and his subsequent apology. Since, he has also referred to Rangers supporters as, "Daleks". Another term those Rangers haters love to utilise, apparently we cannot negotiate stairs. The language of hatred includes lots of references to Stairway 13. Thomson is immersed in this and his useage has become his common currency. He is a product of the McGillivan, Greenslade, McNally, Cosgrove, ..... etc conditioning.

To this end, I suggest Rangers supporters confronting Thomson should utilise a sonic screwdriver. NEVER let this cnut forget he utilised the deaths of 66 Bears for cheap laughs.
