  1. Radio Snyde has a 25 year legacy of HATE.

The objective hosts of ra show in this last quarter of a century have been :

    1. Paul Cooney - former PRO of ra Sellik and whilst broadcasting, never stopped doing that job.

    2. Peter(Bitter)Martin - Peter McGuire was the self-styled, 'Biggest Tim from Newarthill'. He hosted and sniggered as Mark Guidi was allowed to say, "it's not that I hate Rangers, it's just that I dislike them".

    3. Jim(ra Tim)Delahunt - a purveyor and practitioner of careful hate.

    4. Gerry McCulloch - former host of TicTalk on Sellik TV. Like Cooney, he cannot discern the demarcation line between Sellik TV and Radio Snyde.

  2. Message and messenger?

I suspect most Bears will find Jim Traynor's message to be of far more interest. Obviously, it's preferred prejudice, we want to see distribution of the pain.

The corollary is the messenger supercedes the message. Again, this will be preferred prejudice, let's nip the message in the bud and ridicule the messenger.

I wonder if Traynor has gone off message these last several months?

The word is he is on his way out at both the Record and BBC Scotland. Whatever, in this case and a dozen more instances lately, his message is GERmane.

  3. D'Art,

In light of your piece, the Herald journo, Richard Wilson was on Cosgrove and Cowan several weeks ago and he suggested the First Minister should become involved in the Rangers saga. He pointed out that Rangers employed in excess of 250 folks and were a significant employer in Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon's constituency.

Cosgrove is a life long member of the SNP and participates in a number of their think tanks. Immediately, he rubbished Wilson's suggestion and stated that Salmond had far more important issues to concern him. Further, Cosgrove changed the subject matter being discussed and deliberately ran interference on political involvement. Cowan reinforced with, "this is a fitbaw show, not politics".

It is strange that only one of the elected officials that represent Govan/Ibrox at varying levels, has made statements on the saga/crisis or become involved. Iain Davidsom MP(Labour) has made a few comments. However, the others have remained eerily silent. I suspect they do NOT want involvement as a preferred personal/political prejudice. The others are :

    1. Councilors - James Adam(Labour), Alison Hunter(SNP), Fariha Thomas(Labour), and Stephen Dornan(Glasgow First).

    2. MEP - George Lyon(Labour).

    3. MSP - Nicola Sturgeon(SNP).

As stated, in excess of 250 jobs and NOT a word. It's more than strange that such an informed broadcaster as Cosgrove does NOT want to discuss or highlight this fact.

  4. Smith's a self confessed Rangers hater- I remember years ago getting his book 'Heartfelt' for Christmas. Even at a young age, it was so easy to pick out dig after dig at Rangers.

As for English, he does make a valid point about the fact that very few are asking questions of Green anymore, but the article's dressed up in a 'holier than thou' attitude that is all too prevalent in the Scottish press today.

In fact, the worst piece of reporting I read this weekend was the match report by Jonathan Sutherland on the BBC. Thank God I read the RM one first, because the BBC's 'match report' was anything other than one....

Your point on Jonathon Sutherland is bang on.

I undertook a long drive yesterday and listened to both BBC Radio Scotland and Radio Snyde for updates.

Richard Gordon broadcast Sutherland's half-time report at 6 minutes past four. In ninety seconds, Rangers hater and Abergreen fan, Jonathon spent most of it banging on about an unawarded penalty for Forres. He said, "the Rangers defender clobbered the Forres forward". Further, "the referee ignored the game changing decision". Snyde's report was a few seconds after the half time whistle and made no mention of the game changing unawarded penalty. In fact, no one else has remarked on this incident.

  5. Aidan Smith has been flashing his Rangers hating credentials for over 20 years. The Hootsman and it's Sunday sister, Scotland on Sunday have been providing the platforms for Aidan to spew his bile. Aidan likes to come across as your ordinary fitbaw fan, attending Easter Road and howling abuse at referees and the opposition whilst munching on a pie. He has invested much in establishing his working class credentials, I suspect he only walks on cobbled streets when approaching Easter Road.

    Aidan is a FRAUD.

He attended Fettes College. Yep, that Fettes College, the one that also produced Tony Blair and David Murray. Those that remember him at school and Uni' will tell you he was a Sellik supporter like his bean counting banker of a father(should that be pater)? When all those wonderful Eddie Turnbull Hibs teams of the 70s were in full flow, Aidan's desire for bunnet hustling demanded regular attendance at ra Piggery.

Apparently, Aidan found the Hibees in the early 80s. The advantages were obvious, more edge, more cobbles, less travelling, and he didn't even have to change his scarf. He followed Hearts (SFL3 feeder club) for a year, penned a book on the experience, and became the dinner party darling of Morningside and Stockbridge.

The one constant in Aidan's life has been Rangers hating and his Fettes education ensures he is able to take advantage of the opportunities such a mindset provides. Read Aidan's piece again with the information in this biog' and you realise Aidan is the joke. It's just, he doesn't get it.

  6. RMers complaining might like to consider BBC Scotland this time last year had to apologise to McCoist for the editing of a piece by Hugh McKenzie. Ally was depicted as sniggering during a Q and A on sectarianism. McKenzie had taken footage from later in the interview and spliced it into the part on sectarianism.

Further, mental health charities might have something to say on the montage. Laughing at suicidal dispair is okay as long as it depicts a Rangers official.

  7. Junhnino lived in a house in Bothwell, one of a dozen built on the ground of the former clubhouse of Bothwell Castle Golf Club. This property has been utilised by several players/coaching staff over the years. As well as the Brazilian, Gordon Strachan, Ledley, Hooper, ....... etc have occupied the property. The accepted wisdom being that it is a property owned by ra Sellik.

However, the name on the title deeds and the money(over a million) paid reveal two well known characters who have spent/are enjoying resindency courtesy of Her Majesty. Could ra Sellik be continuing beneficieries of laundered drug monies?

    We should be told.

  8. Why are Kerrydale Street and Aberdeen fans sponsoring Annan players?

I suspect the motivation behind Steve Gilhooley's two season tickets might be more interesting?

Steve Gilhooley is a rc priest and Sellik supporter. He was chased from Scotland by Cardinal O'Brien. His crime was to publish an account of his time attending rc seminary, 'Pyjama Parade'. As the title suggests, the priests lined up the children in their PJs and selected their evening's entertainment. O'Brien was uncomfortable with such candour and banished him to the land of cuckoo clocks and Toblerone.

I wonder what rabid Sellik supporter and constant critic of the rc church's handling of child rape cases thinks of the activities of the convicted Jim Torbet, Frank Cairney, and John Cullen?

  9. Last week on Radio Snyde, Gerry McCulloch was flashing his credentials by fawning confusion with a fellow hooped horror of a caller, "oldco, newco, whatever you want to call them".

    How about Rangers Gerry?

Anyways, Gerry hosted 'TicTalk' on ra Sellik TV for a few years. He continues in the same vein on a different medium. Or does he, can anyone see the line of demarcation between Radio Snyde and Sellik TV?

  10. I guess he was sucking off brittney when he typed this out

It would be the other way round.

Ra Bhoy in Corduroy lionised Gibbons at every turn in his Sports Diaries at both Scotland on Sunday and ra Herald. Twenty years, he has worshipped at the altar of a man he christened, 'the Great Gibbo'.

Further, gibbons is Nuremberg Hugh's longest and dearest friend, both began at the Scotsman.

  11. Eric Blair(George Orwell) penned his seminal tome whilst summering on the Isle of Jura.

I would be delighted if we could exile ra Bhoy in Corduroy, the Slug, Nuremberg Hugh, Rheinhart Gordon, Jim Spence, Stuart Cosgrove ....................... et al to the same island.

    Midges have got to eat.

  12. I remember the game, we were losing 0-2 when Ally bundled the ball into the net. The game finished 1-2.

I think the game was a League Cup sectional game. It was around '73/'74?

Ally Scott was a real rarity. A product of Hutchesons' Grammar School for Boys' and a 1st class honours graduate in Natural Philosophy(that's Physics to mere mortals). Unfortunately for Ally, all his brains were in his head, he was fairly awful on the pitch and looked every inch of a raised rugby player transferring to football.

He left the club to go to Hibs as part of a swap deal that saw Johnny Hamilton arrive at Ibrox. In the next couple of seasons, Ally continued to move on to Thistle, Morton, and back to Queens Park.

  13. Rhat faced Chris McLaughlin, Peter Lawwell's preferred broadcaster and BBC Scotland's Senior Football Reporter interviews Charles Green.

Dandy Don and self admitting, "I was raised to hate Rangers" Rheinhart Gordon relates his astonishment to fellow Dandy Don and fellow Rangers hater, Herald journo Michael Grant.

Next up will be the old BBC Radio Scotland tactic of broadcasting e-mails from the usual suspects, criticising all things Rangers.

BBC Scotland should advertise a guarantee when taking our lincense fee dosh - 'Rangers, we will continue to swing the boot and spitting the venom'.
