I think Black has a very good range of passing but we are not utilising it at the moment because the ball is bypassing the midfield so often when we go long.

Now that Shiels is injured, I think we will see more of Templeton playing in the hole behind the striker.

A few months back I suggested going with 3 at the back and just let them concentrate on defending and give Wallace and our midfielder more scope to push forward (press higher)....
There is no chance ally will play that team or system and guaranteed we stick with the 4-1-4-1 stuff however if it were me I would go with that team....maybe swapping faure for hegarty.
Totally agree mate. Just let the 3 at the back defend and then we get our width from McKay and Wallace. Templeton can play in the hole and get on the ball and you have your 2 strikers up front.

We don't have the right defenders for 3 at the back, IMO.
If we sign a couple of good defenders in the summer I'd like to see us try it because we can still keep a player in the hole off the front but also have 2 strikers. Although a 4 could be fine if we sign a good right back or Darren Cole shows some form.

Maybe you're right but I think it all depends on who we play there. I definitely think McCulloch should play at the back. If not this season, depending on who we sign in the summer, I'd like to see us try that formation next season.

As for the correct formation, I'd like to see us try a 3-4-1-2.

He might keep McCulloch in defence after the clean sheet on Saturday and put Faure holding in midfield beside Hutton.
