  1. I run probably the least secure system ever - no virus scanner and even the default windows firewall turned off. So there's not too much to interfere with it.

Never heard anything about this linklayer topology, but I have been using the network without any problems for about a year. It's only just gone tits up in the last week.

  2. Workgroup is all the same (tu)

It must have something to do with DCHP/WINS/DNS (all possibly unrelated things that I know nothing about) as I can access them by ip, but not by name as the Windows file sharing requires.

  3. Having a bit of a 'mare here. For over a year I've had a home network set up consisting of an XP desktop wired to the router and an XP laptop and a Vista laptop connecting wirelessly. File sharing and all that jazz was on and I used the network printer regularly.

Now on my Vista laptop the other network locations refuse to show up, so I can't access the printer. And the other computers can't see it either. The other 2 machines work with each other though.

What's strange is that I can ping all the computers and I can also still access files if I type the ip address into Explorer. It doesn't recognise it if I type the computer name though.

    Any ideas?

  4. aka FAO: McBoyd!

I've got a graph imported from excel in a powerpoint (2007) show and I've drawn a rectangle autoshape on top of it.

In the animation settings I can set the chart to appear 'by series' so each graph appears after a mouse click.

I want this box to appear at the end of the show, but it seems to be attached to the background so I can't set an animation for it to appear at the end!

    Any ideas?

  5. Well, that's what I see as the difference between me and a tim. I don't give a crap if someone in Spain thinks me a rotter. I didn't start supporting Rangers in a desperate attempt to find the affection denied me by a drunken father or a religious fanatic mother, I don't use Rangers as an emotional crutch to prop up my otherwise empty, unemployed, unemployable, drug addled existance. I don't feed into a ridiculous sense of heritage to spout uninformed garbage about rebellion, socialism, or pseudo-patriotism. I am able to resist the urge to call every (that's every) radio station, TV show or paper hotline to furiously protest any and every decision which may have gone against the Rangers, nor to decry celtic at every turn in hopes of making people like Rangers better.

    Get a life, you losers!

Andy Andy Andy, chill man. I must admit i normally don't give a shit either, but i am getting fed up with being tarred with a brush because i am a Rangers fan, so any positive press for us and negative press for the green and grey lot is increasing in significance for me.

I agree soot, but I think the problem mostly comes from the fact that Celtic fans get so much praise and admiration abroad. If they were tarred as troublemakers too I don't think many of us would be that bothered.

When I was on a night out in Catalonia a few weeks ago my friends advised me not to admit I was a Rangers fan. :(

  6. Just think what happened after we threw our money around when Dick was here.

I don't see these billionaire owners of clubs as a good thing. These people are business men and football simply cannot be profitable when you've got squads of players on 125 grand a week and paying millions for signatures. At the moment it's nothing but a hobby, something to burn a little cash. When they get bored don't think they'll think twice about dropping the club on it's arse, nobody gets that rich without crossing a few people.

And maybe it's racist but I certainly don't have a lot of trust for the Arabs. Some of the morals and practices in the Middle East are appalling, and I definitely wouldn't want them in charge of my club. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few Middle Eastern players at Man City in a few years, Romanov style.
