Never known a manager to split the fan base like this.
Let's be honest, if he wasn't an ex player/legend, he'd have been given the sack a long, long time ago.
-
No but I expected them to give there all - which they did - they still had to be beaten and last season we managed to score about 2.5 goals per game more than the opposition - do you want to ignore that?
Is that your justification for Ally? We managed to score on average 2.5 goals more than a bunch of part time players for whom, the majority of, football is nothing more than a hobby, second to their day jobs...
-
Ally: "gonny no dae that"
Moshni: "Naw"
Ally: "Ok"
End of convo.
-
Ah yes, I can see it now.
-
Chelsea look like the strongest squad this season. (Totally neutral on the subject)
Amazing business by Mourinho to get just short of £80 million for two just above average players.
-
2-1 to Hibs.
-
Did you honestly expect any side in the 3rd and 2nd division to run us close to the titles?
Aye, Stirling Albion had a shit hot part time plumber up front that could've caused some issues.
-
Can only laugh at some of the comments in this thread.
Ally is a piss poor manager but he is not going to get the sack over a pre-season friendly.
It's blatantly obvious the administration etc saved his job.
"Aye but he won us division 3 then 2".
My blind dug could have done the same. Doesn't make him a football manager though.
This season is going to be painful to watch. He'll win the league (using shitey tactics), and we'll get pumped out every cup (again) but this will be a more than adequate achievement for his supporters who are blinded with faith.
The sad thing is, when we do get back to the premier league. He's got the perfect excuse of "our squad isn't strong enough to compete for the title", while this may be true for the first few seasons, ally will use this excuse to cover up the continuous failings for years beyond this.

How can Jig be in front of Moshni for a game?
I think Jig does get too much stick (sometimes) but his manager doesn't do him any favours by inadvertently putting him in the starting line up in front of players who could do an all round better job.

Hopefully his work permit gets rejected then Ally accidentally deletes the email that says "Appeal this decision".
Then he clicks on options, followed by "Resign from club".

Don't want to tempt fait, ah fuck it.
The biggest crowd at Porkhead this season will have been there to see the Queen

Strange question to ask, I know.. But an interesting one I'd say.
I think this current team is better than 05/06 overall. I'd say it would have potential to beat PLG's Team also.
That said it also makes me think just how much it'd take to be consistent and challenge.
Strange question to ask i know but I found it interesting.
Put down the crack my friend.
Le Guen tried (and ultimately failed) to change our footballing philosophy and our players attitude to drinking and eating. It back fired as he lost the dressing room as he wouldn't tolerate a "lads" atmosphere.
On the contrary though, the passing and new tactics where very pleasing to watch, albeit the results where not always the best. Still, better than the "hump the baw up the park".
Fast forward 10 years and now here we are, "progressing" with long ball after long ball. Embarrassing "tactics" and semi professional teams confident of getting a result against us as we are that predictable.
This is by far the worst team and tactically inept manager in our history.

5-4-1 against Hearts I predict.
Yikes

To be honest if I was Ally I'd tell you to go back to school if you sent questions like that
1. Before start of season , I'd wager as he seems to have stubble / beard a lot during close season
2. He ALWAYS wears suits for competitive games
3. Would you quit your dream job? On back of winning two titles and where you can see a decent spine forming to challenge next year?
4. He wasn't good enough
Done
I was merely quoting what has been the hottest topics of lately, then threw in a classic McKay question to seal the deal.
Although yes, I did make it sound like I went to St. Something or other didn't I?
-
Got to give jig, boydy and miller the night off so they can go out on the piss.
Good ol' Ally, always looking out for the boys
-
1. Are yi gonnae get rid ae the beard?
2. Are yi gonnae start wearing a suit?
3. Are yi gonnae quit?
4. How come yi didnae play Matt McKay?
In that order.

I fear the worst against Derby. Russell will score against us like he always does.
Russell, Bryson, Forsyth.
Promising young Scottish talents. How I envy them.
Bryson is a cracking midfielder. Free scoring last season.
-
Richard Foster NOT here to stay hopefully.
Don't hold your breath.
Star right back he is.
-
Ally has obviously been watching the Netherlands and Chile play 5-4-1 over the last month with fast counter attacking players with quick accurate passing and thought we could pull it off.
-
... I am sure Alky would love to have the same budget and opportunities as MCleish but it will be another season at least till he gets the footballing challenges - and I don't think the club will have anything like the same budget . It's a new reality but one many are sruggling with.
Alky is about right, judging by this mornings tactics
-
5-4-1
Why do this to ourselves.
Embarrassing.
