  1. No but I expected them to give there all - which they did - they still had to be beaten and last season we managed to score about 2.5 goals per game more than the opposition - do you want to ignore that?

Is that your justification for Ally? We managed to score on average 2.5 goals more than a bunch of part time players for whom, the majority of, football is nothing more than a hobby, second to their day jobs...

  2. Can only laugh at some of the comments in this thread.

Ally is a piss poor manager but he is not going to get the sack over a pre-season friendly.

It's blatantly obvious the administration etc saved his job.

"Aye but he won us division 3 then 2".

My blind dug could have done the same. Doesn't make him a football manager though.

This season is going to be painful to watch. He'll win the league (using shitey tactics), and we'll get pumped out every cup (again) but this will be a more than adequate achievement for his supporters who are blinded with faith.

The sad thing is, when we do get back to the premier league. He's got the perfect excuse of "our squad isn't strong enough to compete for the title", while this may be true for the first few seasons, ally will use this excuse to cover up the continuous failings for years beyond this.

  3. Won't be getting my hopes up after last year.

PES 14 is just dog shite.

And if I'm honest. PES has been pish poor for nearly a decade now.

They (Konami) still can't PES online right. Terrible.

  4. Strange question to ask, I know.. But an interesting one I'd say.

I think this current team is better than 05/06 overall. I'd say it would have potential to beat PLG's Team also.

That said it also makes me think just how much it'd take to be consistent and challenge.

Strange question to ask i know but I found it interesting.

Put down the crack my friend.

Le Guen tried (and ultimately failed) to change our footballing philosophy and our players attitude to drinking and eating. It back fired as he lost the dressing room as he wouldn't tolerate a "lads" atmosphere.

On the contrary though, the passing and new tactics where very pleasing to watch, albeit the results where not always the best. Still, better than the "hump the baw up the park".

Fast forward 10 years and now here we are, "progressing" with long ball after long ball. Embarrassing "tactics" and semi professional teams confident of getting a result against us as we are that predictable.

This is by far the worst team and tactically inept manager in our history.

  5. To be honest if I was Ally I'd tell you to go back to school if you sent questions like that

    1. Before start of season , I'd wager as he seems to have stubble / beard a lot during close season

    2. He ALWAYS wears suits for competitive games

    3. Would you quit your dream job? On back of winning two titles and where you can see a decent spine forming to challenge next year?

    4. He wasn't good enough

    Done ;)

I was merely quoting what has been the hottest topics of lately, then threw in a classic McKay question to seal the deal.

Although yes, I did make it sound like I went to St. Something or other didn't I?
