  1. I grew up watching Rangers when there was little or no PC amongst football fans.

    The Rangers support was predominately working class, male and protestant, although perhaps not orange or a church goer, they were certainly fiercely proud of our culture and traditions.

    We were also united to the extent that it was all for one and one for all. You knew that if it went off at Easter Rd or Aberdeen that your fellow supporters would have your back and would not hesitate to help a bear or bears in need.

    That support was moulded in the traditional 'No Surrender' mould and if noone liked us we certainly didn't care.

    Fast forward to 2008 and that support is no more. Yes, a bastardised version exists but there is no way that anyone can claim it is united, has a No Surrender atittude or has anywhere near the same level of pride in the traditions and culture, without which Rangers could have ended up like Partick Thistle, Queens Park or, heaven forbid, Third Lanark.

    Words fail me to describe our support's meek acceptance of:

    the Rangers board and their 'grass a bear' lines;

    the banning of songs that WE have all sung and were commonplace wherever we played or our fans got together;

    the celtic mhedia bias;

    the SPL/SFA treatment of Rangers through administrative and matchday officials;

    the 'love-ins' with a celtc who despise us and have a dig at us at every opportunity, including their own AGM;

    It shouldn't have come as a surprise but even I was stunned this morning to read Rangers fans backing the referees and officials and blaming the manager and players.

    Don't get me wrong I am not delighted with our current manager and some of the squad but they are doing their best to win games and trophies only to be cheated by officials who are continually bending the rules to give celtc an advantage in the title race. It won them the title last season and it has given them a healthy lead despite losing the first old firm game of the season.

    Incredibly there are now even Rangers fans who think we are paranoid and that Rangers should actually score 2 goals more than the opprosition to ensure that a referee/official doesn't deny us victory.

    I could even accept the mistakes if:

    a) the officials owned up to them in the light of TV evidence

    b) the SPL/SFA actively punished officials for the mistakes they are making by demoting them or suspending them.

    Rangers fans are being cheated through errors being allowed to happen and without any recourse.

    I'm a Rangers fan - I think you are paranoid - and thinking you are paranoid makes me no less a fan.

    As for the rest of the living in the past rubbish in the post you will find a few others on this site that support that view - and many who dont. Some of have have moved with society's changes instead of living in the past.

    Some question who you support BP9.

    I grew up in the era where you would never grass a fellow fan for singing ,shouting or pissing up a lane and it's not about living in the past ,it's about the respect has gone and now football fans are not the working class guys that used to be there.

    Yes times change and we must move on but somethings have got to the laughable stage....

    The Billy boys was not sectarian but we were forced to stop

    The Famine song is not sectarian but we're being threatened by our own club with arrest

    They were trying to get rid of the Ulster flags at Ibrox and the removal of the Dublin loyal banner was nothing short of disgraceful.

    Our club fail to back us.

    They try to get supporters to go running to teacher and tell tales.

    This is not the Rangers i grew up with and while our opponents have their troubles brushed under carpets then i'll continue to sing and shout what i want and for all said and done they may kick me out the stadium but they cannot arrest me.

    If i stand and sing the Billy Boys i cannot be arrested for sectarianism as there is nothing sectarian in the actual words.

    The Sash,The Cry,Fields of Ulster,Their lies a soldier and the famine song are all non sectarian.

    The problem with some supporters is they are such shitebags they are willing to bend over and take whatever comes...

    This could be my last season as alot of friends and family have gave up on a club that is a shadow of it's former self.

    I told you that the Old Guard would wither and die. All this sectarian shite is an old man's gemme. Yer a dying breed.

    It seems that the good will out and good riddance to bad apples, eh...?

  2. There is a feeling among Celtic fans that we are collectively raging at Diego n' Co. training at the Gasworks.

    Funny, because I haven't seen a single discerning post on here.

    They are just trying to get a bit of free publicity worldwide, I'd say. Their fans seem to have more sinister reasoning, however... hmmmm.

    Ah'm just lookin' forward to the game. McGregor getting a start in goal and Fergie starts as El Capitano...

    Nice one.

  3. Hmmmm...

    It's a tricky one... Immediately I was gonnae blurt oot "ten-in-a-row," but then I paused for thought and came to the conclusion that a European trophy holds more prestige.

    Get the kerdz oot n' ah'll explain...

    If we played 'snap' all night and I won 51 rounds in total and you only won 42 but during the course of the night you won 9 of those in a row whereas I did not win as many in a row, who would be the best at 'snap?'

    Aye, exactly...

    I rest mah case.

    Therefore; We welcome the chase.

  4. Amato.... Aaahhh, looked absolutely dynamite in too-few flashes of brilliance.

    I mind he scored in the 1st game in Europe when we were taking a hiding at half-time against Shelbourne(!!!??!!! :blink: ) and came back to win 5-3.

    That was a shaky start to the era of the Wee General.

  5. cant belive he did it. looked like maradona 1990 world cup. bet the tattie muchers will be asking for a drug test.

    i was sitting next to a tim in the pub. she soon left when boruc fumbled. haha get it up

    he only scored twice :craphead:

    HaHhahhahaH...

    And it was the 1994 World Cup when Diego ran to the camera... Yer right though. That is exactly what it reminded me of.

    C'monnnnnn...

  6. Could anyone make it out?

    Anyone got a video of it? Post it up - Lip-readers, do yer worst...!

    It looked a bit like "Get it right fuckin' up ye...!"

    Either that or "We are the fuckin' people...!"

    Any thoughts...?

    Whatever he said was said with total passion and commitment. He isn't the greatest player in the world, he still cannae trap a bag o' cement...

    But I have to hand it to him for sheer doggedness and strength of character. Great finish for the second goal tae... Bit like Novo's fae last season.

    Kenny Miller, I salute ye...!

    :rangers:
