It will be an honour for us to present the Founders Story at Cambuslang Bowling Club Westcoats Road Cambuslang G72 8AE at on Friday 10th August 7.30pm. Entry is £5 which can be paid on the night and includes pie and peas. The evening will also provide an insight into The Rangers Graves Restoration Project and The Founders Trail. We hope to see a few of you along.

This is our ninth year and the popularity of the Trail continues to soar ! Since we first took to the streets of Glasgow in 2009 we’ve taken over 8,000 people on the Trail of our Founders and through the doors of Ibrox Stadium ,many for the first time. Through the education process of the Founders Trail our objective is to safeguard our unique and wonderful history for future generations . So let us Follow Follow in the Footsteps of our Founders. During the course of our research we recently located the final resting place in Craigton Cemetery Glasgow of Archie Steel. Archie Steel joined Rangers in 1876 and was a member of the first Rangers team to win a Trophy, the Glasgow Merchants Charity Cup in 1879. That Trophy is today on display within the Football Museum at Hampden. Archie Steel played for the Club for 6 seasons. While we were at Kinning Park Archie was one of ‘’ The Moonlighters’’ . This was a name given to the Rangers players by the locals as our lads often trained late into the night honing their skills. Using the pen name Old International he wrote a wonderful book 25 Years of Football which was published in 1891. He died on 17th April 1928, three days after the Rangers ended a 25 year wait for the Scottish Cup after beating celtic 4-0. The stone has been re-erected and a Memorial Plaque funded by The Restoration of Rangers Graves Project has been placed at the grave of Archie Steel. The stone will be cleaned in due course. Gone but never forgotten.

Last Friday night we had the pleasure of presenting the Founders Story at the The Ex-Serviceman’s Club Tradeston. At the end of the presentation our Restoration of Rangers Graves donations bucket was sent around the hall and the wonderful amount of £183.91 was raised, which included a £50 donation from the Club. We'd like to thank the organisers for a cracking event and everyone who attended for their overwhelming generosity as this will help to ensure that our Restoration work continues over the coming months.
