  1. First topic I’ve started. Always on the forum reading everyone’s opinions/views etc without actually contributing. Thought I’d give it a go.

Having read through everyone’s comments  I’d agree that Wallace’s defensive attributes fall short of CB’s of the past. After all, he’s a wing back. We only need to look at our star man James Tavernier & his critics. There’s been a lot made of Tav’s defensive awareness. Fact is you simply can’t be in 2 places at once. As a full back your always going to be criticised if the teams shipping goals from a counter attack - goes with the territory.

Our club captain is nearing fitness and I really hope he makes his way back into the first team. At the expense of Declan John?I’m not so sure ..

Our squad finally has some serious strength in depth & after results against Aberdeen & Ross County it’s filled me with optimism for the second half of the season.

  2. Firstly I think it’s fair to say this transfer window has been more productive than most would have expected; That being said, it’s been reported that or business on player recruitment may not be finished just yet ..

With Danny Wilson now reported to have concluded a deal that will see him play his football in the MLS for Colarado, there has been some paper talk of Allen & Murty targeting a left sided centre back..

Was watching the game this afternoon & it got me thinking about players that are almost back to fitness, particularly our captain Lee Wallace. Declan John has done a fine job since being drafted in & there was talk of pushing him on one to accommodate Wallace. With Jamie Murphy arriving this seems highly unlikely.

Murty will have a headache others could only dream of..

Question; How do we deploy our best 11?

  3. Agree with everyones thoughts on the big man, Best game in the famous jersey.

For me a couple of small things made his performance stand out today..

Aside from being very commanding in the air & vocal when not on the ball

    - When receiving the ball from Wes, He would burst forward & make the pass to midfield - Speeding things up.

    - While in possession, He'd pick out Wallace with a longer pass - Cutting out an unnecessary pass to Wilson.

Growing in stature each passing game.

  4. Deserves all the credit coming his way at the moment & the banner display was very fitting too.

He's showing great leadership quality's as you mention & has also upped his game from last season.

His goal today from our well worked set piece was top drawer! - What a left peg :praise:

  5. Would like to see Waghorn score from open play on one of our attacks today.

He's been involved in most of our goals & had a few assists as well as converting from the spot,
But I feel he's a bit frustrated at missing chance after chance.

Of course, The fact the team continue to create chances is the most important thing.

A finish from an assist today could see him hit a goal trail .. He deserves it!

I'm going 5-0, With Waggy & Oduwa amongst the scorers.
