I've complained to the club several times before about the conduct of the Record. Sometimes over sly thinly veiled digs, sometimes not so much. I even recall them "tagging" a story about us with the keyword "fascism" in the past. You'd think ill Phil 3 names worked there with that kind of baiting.
Our club released a statement that they will not accept any criticism of our fans in light of the scenes on Saturday. Time to put the board to the test on that one. Indefinite BAN on the Daily Record and all it's journ.... tabloid-level rats.

I also fully agree with a democratic and free press mate but it's not unreasonable to question the motives of a "journalist" who describes herself as a "tim" and gratuitously uses the term "H**" to denigrate a support and Club she clearly has a strong dislike for!
Should her bosses let her take on a story of such a sensitive nature when her views could be easily construed as...let's say...potentially biased to the extent where, perhaps, her personal beliefs could blind her judgement?
Further, she may not have to reveal or justify her source but I think she'll have a job on her hands justifying her dubious morals!!

My personal opinion on Us Rangers fans is that although we all agree that we're being jackbooted from all fucking angles and we know that we desperately need to do something about it, there's a lack of cohesion and leadership! We NEED the Club AND someone who commands genuine respect by ALL sections of all communities in Scotland and/or the UK to fight our corner....or at least, unravel this fucking mess equitably!!! Perhaps, a judge or politician....maybe even someone from outwith the UK....someone genuinely impartial!!
Further, I think we've been made to feel a sense of guilt at who and what we are...further preventing us from acting collectively on issues of mutual concern!! We've been made to feel like second class citizens for so long I wonder if we're starting to believe it ourselves!! We've been made to feel like vile, sectarian bigots by the "new establishment" in this country!!
In their eyes, we've subjugated the poor oirish immigrants for too long now and we're not going to get away with it any longer...hence the lopsided and unfair way in which we continue to be treated!!
Who's doing this to us? The educated oirish diaspora in Scotland, who occupy positions of power in every section of our society, that's who!!
How the fuck are we to combat that mate?!! Mobs of us approaching buildings, marching, protesting? That just gives them more justification to hate us further...no...as I say...we need outside help on this!!!

Don't want to be over dramatic here but this is turning into a national crisis for me!!! If this is not dealt with fairly (and it's clearly not) by the start of next season, I can see unrest and a potential for much worse violence....we can only take this for so long before anger at these perpetual injustices spills into upcoming games!!!

Don't know much about the ex-MP Brian Donohoe other than he's a Rangers fan!
Could he not exert some influence and pressure, or act in an advisory type role in order to help us collate evidence and present it to the right people and authoritative bodies? Just a thought!

Negative PR onslaught on Rangers fans has reached new and despicable heights....even slyly playing up to preconceptions/misconceptions held by far too many people in Scotland that hate us already, by mentioning Northern Ireland in such a way as to link us with (in their twisted minds) Loyalism/Protestantism = sectarianism!!!....so we MUST be at fault!!!
I don't want to disrespect Liverpool fans and, especially, those involved at Hillsborough by making a direct comparison but this DOES have shades of the lies and cover up tactics employed by the South Yorkshire Police force!!! Police Scotland will be putting it about next that Rangers fans robbed and urinated on hibs fans and attacked heroic cops trying to do their jobs!!!!

I, like all Bears, was delighted with the scathing statement from Rangers in defence of Our Players, Club Officials, Fans and the good name and reputationof Our Club in general! The statement, the structure, and wording contained within, along with the targets we chose to deride and identify should leave none of Us in any doubt that the Club mean business in tackling these issues.... FINALLY....and not before time!
I have been critical of the Club in the past for failing to bare its teeth -especially in regards backing Us, the fans, on various issues - when coming under attack from all quarters but it cannot be accused of taking a back seat this time, so to speak! Some of the more cynical among us may suggest, perhaps with some justification, that Our Club wouldn't be so vociferous in its support for the Fans had Players and Officials not been so disgustingly accosted and attacked on the field of play at hampden! However, that Rangers DID back Us at all is a massive step in the right direction and should be applauded!
This debacle will play out for months....perhaps even years, and the Club MUST NOT allow our detractors (which feels like a whole country and football "community") to weaken our resolve and our strong case to get diminished in the passing of time....because, be in no doubt, that's what they'll attempt to do! The motherwell case demonstrates this tactic perfectly!
Our next move should be along the lines of what Cushynumber said earlier in the thread...have the likes of MW talking to media outlets in England, like Sky, for example! It's highly unlikely (nigh on impossible actually) we'll get parity from the Scottish government, our msp's or mp's, the judiciary, police Scotland, the sfa, the msm, the rest of the footballing community or, indeed even, the general public outside of The Rangers Fraternity!!
No...this has to be taken to outside bodies like UEFA, Westminster....hell, even the European Courts if it helps us receive justice (while we're still in Europe)!! We need an independent inquiry set up to investigate why Our Club and Fans are being treated with such disdain, such hatred, such inequity and, dare I say it, such abuse of our civil rights!! No other large group of people are treated in such a way in Scotland....why us?
LET'S HAVE A FULL, IMPARTIAL AND INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION TO CALL THESE PEOPLE OUT ON WHY THEY CONDEMN US SO READILY!!!
THIS CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED BY EMPLOYING THE HELP OF NON SCOTTISH INVESTIGATORS...SADLY!!!
