  1. I agree the problems have not been brought about by the credit crunch .The problems seem to be a lack of structure

regarding team building ,player recruitment ect.

A MCleish was employed by rangers during an apparent attemt to downsize the club. In his first full season he won

the treble with dick advocaats team, this team was then disbanded and purchases made to replace at less cost.

This gave us the delights of capucho, emmerson ostenstad to name but three. The team mcleish built faltered and the next

season another raft of players came in prso ,novo, boumsong .the transfer of boumsong in the january allowed us

to make a couple of signings which kept the team competitive enough to win the spl on the last day.

However we were left in the same situation we are in at present with players we need to get rid of

and who do not want to leave,in the past we payed players off to get rid this does not seem an option

at the present due to our financial problems.

As i see it we must get rid of the deadwood, hedami, beasley, daily, mcculloch, adam. All of these players are available

plus a few others these would be a start which would reduce our wage bill.If we were to sell 1or 2 of our stars

the money raised if between 4 and 6 million would reduce wage bill give us some funds to get rid of previous named

deadwood as a short term soloution.

Long term, shorter contracts for players more emphasis on scottish talent and youth, and the realisation that we can only realisically

compete at levels our finances dictate. These or any soloutions will not happen overnight therefore unity is required

and not what seems to be manifesting itself at the present moment between the club and the various fan groups.

  2. :unionflag: :unionflag:

Starvin Marvin is pish. He is lightweight and spends more time on his arse than he does on his feet, probably due to his oversized and disproportianite head.

He has had no more than 3 excellent games for us and has started only 57 League games in the last 5 seasons.

What is it people have seen that would determine him as being the answer to our issues?

  3. Pedestrian is one of the few words i can use to describe the first half, but this has been the norm

for the majority of the games this season.Imo the manager must see that if we play at such a

sedate pace then teams find it easy to play against, well maybe not.

  4. You never work frankie , i agree totally with your thoughts on bargains to be had ,it makes sense if you fancy one or more

of our better players you wait as long as possible to bid for them knowing that a much lower than value bid maybe succsessful

    due to our finances ,

    ps preffered the blue target

  5. Have not read any of the posts but have just voted and looked at the results of the polls.

How anyone can say that naismith and fleck deserved the marks they got imo is nonesense .

problems in the first half came from naismith not playing the position he had been asked to play properly

    ie midfield not left winger.

Fleck in the 11mins of play he was on for i think touched the ball once .But it just continues to show the mindset

    of posters on this forum.

Boogie was my man of the match followed closely by mcgregor and davis for his second half performance

the rest barely made pass marks with papac having a particularly poor first half(see naismith comment).

  6. We have got a problem and the short term fix seems to raise 3 million pounds

what is going to happen at the end of the season if we don"t win the league .Will we then have to move on at least four of our top earners

to reduce the cash flow problems. The situation we have found ourselves in is not going to go away, and imo the problems seem that they will get worse.

However if this means we have to use the youngsters from murray park to bolster the squad as well as reasonably priced scottish talent the so be it.

There will be a knock on effect that we will fall further behind celtic in the short term but in the long term with prudent fiscal policies

(no its no sdm speaking) we hopefully come out stronger .but we are in for some serious pain before that

  7. When planning permisson was given a few months ago murray said in the present economic climate no development of the stadium would take place

investment partners are required for the proposed development of the area surrounding ibrox

  8. Another strange post ,just in case you had not noticed sdm wants out he does not want a club he can no longer afford to run in the same manner as

before so telling him to leave will achieve nothing .apart from giving yourself heartburn

  9. To loyal, maybe not loyal enough players come and go thats the nature of football ,the recent ones for the majority of the fans of this forum.reyna, albertz, gascoinge, van bronckhurst, laudrup, amuruso.Just some of the players we have sold but the majority of us keep going, at times like these we need to be more loyal and support the players who are picked to play.

We should all understand that we cannot continue to run the club with a balance sheet like ours,if the answer is selling players to raise funds

then thats just the way it is and has to be ,we can blame everyone from the chairman down to the wee lassie selling the half time draw tickets

but the bottom line is rangers will still be there and so will the fans so we need more loyalty

    Remember we are the people

  10. Just back from the match, felt we lacked width and made to many bank passes to try and break hibs down.

We passed the ball well but overdid it on numerous occasions one pass needed not three,

Hibs played exactly how i expected ,if anybody watched them against celtic they would have known what

to expect,tf we scored when we did it would have been difficult the longer the game went on.

  11. IF plg had stayed would we be happy that this season we may have been challenging for second,

because imo thats how long it would have taken him to build

his team. I don"t think so ,lyon are struggling thats the reason psg and others are closer this seaon

  12. Watching the game today i came to the conclusion that whittaker cannot defend i have always thought that he was better than broadfoot going forward and not as good a defender this player either plays right midfield or better still sell him in january the thought of him against mickgeady or the other lepreachun fills me with dread .The team we have just now is trying to win the spl not compete in the cl broadfoot does ok at the level were at just now so a right back imo is not a priority ,the problem i see is the managers inability to make "tactical changes" during the game as yet again he seemed oblivious to the fact that untd had put an extra man in the middle of the park in the second half thereforew negating our 2 midfielders ,fergie and pedro.

We need cb cover or we go with lee whos a better cb than a midfielder

And before all you firesale experts jump in if you get rid of all the players some of you posters want to get rid of who the fuck r we going to have as cover

  13. Is it a coincidence that apart from the first half against caley that we have played our best football with the 4-5-1 formation

Miller played wide left in these games and we looked more solid in defense and midfield.

IMO the fullbacks are not the problem but the continuity between midfield and front.

    Next weeks team hopefully

    mcgregor

    broadfoot

    boogie

    weir

    sasa

    burke

    davis

    fergie

    mendes

    miller

    boyd
