  1. so you think it's ok too meekly accept a ban on TBB and not sing it whilst singing another song that expresses the same sentiments? Why not sing both?
  2. Or how ridiculous and hypocritical our support are/were to accept the ban when they continue to sing lyrics which are on a par with those that they dare not sing.
  3. Our fans have stopped singing TBB, which has been banned as it contains the line - we're up to our knees in fenian blood. However, our fans continue to sing We are Rangers, which contains the line we hate celtc, fenian b*stards and we'll chase them everywhere. 2 questions for the fans who sing this at games. Why do you sing this but don't sing TBB? Will you stop singing WAR if publically told it is banned as with TBB? I just don't get why the same fans who sang TBB for years stopped singing it without challenge but don't see the hypocrisy with continuing to sing WAR. Surely the inference is the same because if we chase them it's sure to end up with some claret splashed around. For the record I fully support the return of TBB and I'm still angry that it was ever banned in the first place.
  4. Monday's radio is the perfect platform to highlight to the UK the disgusting and disprespectful antics at celtc park on Saturday. Get the texts, emails and calls in to Brazil in the morning and Durham in the afternoon on Talksport and BBC Radio 5 as well. Let them defend holding a minute's applause, the walkout and republican demonstration. I'd love to hear Reid's comments on this one. The only time in history when war dead have been remembered with applause. I presume that every club in the land observed a minute's silence apart from celtc and Motherwell at the weekend. I would also like to know whether Motherwell objected to having a minute's applause.
  5. There's the problem - there's no instructions on what to do with the poppies. Stick them on your lapels like normal, respectful people.
  6. The Billy Boys. Thanks. Does that mean in UEFA\s eyes that we are still allowed to sing FTP etc without threat of sanction? In other words our supporters have voluntarily omitted the add-ons? I was under the impression that the fine and threat of future senctions also related to the FTPing etc.
  7. They were singing 'FTP and The IRA' acccrding our office dhim. Don't know what tune though. BTW how/ when were we punished for 'FTP'? I think we were just warned after Inverness on the first day of last season. What was the fine v Villareal for?
  8. As the title states wearing a poppy commemorates and thanks all those who have served in our armed forces, including the brave soldiers of the UVF who fought at the Somme. A nice little fact to enlighten our friends from the east. As a club, celtc are beyond reproach for wearing poppies on their shirts. Their support is a totally different matter and I'm sure many will be shown up for what thay are tomorrow.
  9. Is it double standards from UEFA and/or the mhedia in this country? I have no problem with it but why should Man Utd fans be allowed to sing such words without threat of sanction?
  10. Lets look at the facts: 1) celtc are beating the CL holders and arguably the best team in the world 1-0 in the CL 2) A celtc fan runs on the park (knowing that doing so will result in at least a fine for his 'beloved' club) and then gives the finger to the captain of his heroes 3) He sings celtc songs when he is served court papers You really couldn't make this up. I see he is a mechanical engineering student. One must wonder how he managed to qualify for such a course and where he is/was a student? The hawk ate the pheasant and the ned f*cked the peasants at celtc park on the same night
  11. If this happens then it will be the biggest own goal by a set of supporters ever in this country. If this happens it is our duty to ensure that the whole world is made aware of it. In this day and age the internet allows 'ordinary folk' opportunities to publicise things on a massive scale. There is no comparison with a song that has no offensive lyrics and the desecration of the memory of people who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Just let the mhedia try and cover this one up. Despite several crowd shots the other night it was interesting to see the only man who appeared to wear a poppy at parkhead was Fergie. An alien would have thought it was a personal tribute that only applied to him.
  12. That's the mhedia for you! Then again lets just ignore THEM and concentrate on Rangers. Once upon a time I would have agreed that was the right stance to take. Not now. The disparity in the reporting between us and them is alarming and if we continue to ignore it then we can only expect much of the same. We have to put pressure on the mhedia, politicians etc to ensure that we are fairly represented.
  13. I presume the match was held up and thus the incident will be included in the match report. Has there been any comment from UEFA regarding this? They were extremely lucky to get away with a small fine last season and if it hadn't been for Dida being such a fraud the punishment would have been far worse. A fair punishment would be for them to play their next game with that section closed. Yet another incident where I can't help but think that if it had involved us we would be getting it from everywhere.
  14. Quite possibly the most absurd suggestion I have ever heard. If you are not at the wind up then you need some help.
  15. Its a superb idea but given that there is huge apathy towards the RST amongst our support, i would suggest not involving them at all on this. This is something which could be promoted to everyone at Ibrox if done in a controlled manner and puting the RST name to it would turn people off That's a fair point although I'm sure some of those high up in the RST/RSA will be best placed to kick it off independently of any supporter body. I'm sure they wil have the best contacts. If one of the 'elephant memory' Rangers fans can write a piece on the reasons for doing this the rest should follow. Copies of various newspaper articles provide all the proof and evidence required to demonstrate why this matter needs to be addressed.
  16. :!winkie3: This is the 'only' issue that I believe truly unites the whole support so I would be surprised if either didn't support it. I'm not vain, so if either (or even yourself) wish to take credit for the idea it's fine by me ::
  17. The starting point would be for someone to write an article highlighting the reasons behind the idea, including examples of press that has been bias, inaccurate etc etc. I would volunteer but there are better candidates than me amongst our support who could quote you chapter and verse about the writings of Speirs, Keevins, McNee etc etc.
  18. Mate That has taken my old hat idea and gave it a brilliant spin What a story that would be e.g Gers fans gift 10k to terminally ill kids Money raised in boycott of sectarian journalists Now that is just brilliant I've been thinking some more about this and the most effective way to do it would be if it was done as a combination of a sponsor form and a petition. E.g, John Smith - (list papers boycotted) - donation to charity Petition/sponsor forms could be distributed amongst RST members, supporters clubs, work places etc etc. Just think if the average weekly spend on papers is 2 pounds. For every 1000 fans that is obviously 2000. If this was done over a month then it gets approximately 8000 quid per 1000 fans. This would be a great way of highlighting the issue and can only be viewed as positive no matter what way you look at it. The internet is also your friend when it comes to generating you own publicity. 1 Rangers fan sends the email to 5 fellow fans who each send it to another 5 and so on and so on. It soon gathers momentum and it would be a MASSIVE story if we got thousands involved. Most importantly of all some deserving cause would also benefit.
  19. I read the other post about a paper boycott with interest and have a suggestion to make. If you are not happy with the bias in our mhedia, don't buy the papers and instead put the money you would normaly spend aside for charity. This could be organised/led by the RST or this website etc and the boycott could be specified to last for a defined period (week, month, season, year). At the end of the defined period then all monies collected could be consolidated and given to a Rangers related charity with some PR and a statement outlining the reason behind the boycott and collection sent to all media outlets. The stetement could include examples of bias and/or inaccurate reporting of us and them. Monies could even be collected/deposited at the WRC before a home game It would take a bit of organising but makes sense to me.
  20. They will only win that battle if we let them. There is nothing wrong with the song and we should not stop singing it. If we stop singing it they have won and every bear should be ashamed the next time he sings the cry is no surrender because that is exactly what will have happened.
  21. I would love to see someone make some cheap t shirts for the next old firm game with a picture of a potato on them. No writing, just a plain white t shirt with a huge picture of a spud on the front. Imagine thousands of bears wearing them before and at the start of the match This would wind them up no end and show them up for the MOPEs (Most Offended) that they truly are. I'm sure that we would be slaughtered for it but it would be hilarious to see. Can you imagine someone going to court and being charged with wearing a potato t shirt? The t-shirts could simply be taken off after they sing the Liverpool song.
  22. I respect what you have posted and your point of view. However, what I find strange and would like you to explain is. What have you done in nearly 40 years of supporting Rangers to eradicate what you see as the 'cancer' that has been supported in song and sentiment by the vast majority of our support during that period? When tens of thousands of our support sang TBB or the Sash, No Pope of Rome etc erc did you join in, did you make your objections known or are you a 21st century PC handwringer?
  23. ive been a very loyal supporter since 1983. I probably know as much or more about Rangers then you do... go ahead...ask me anything.. I guess Im just sick and tired of everyone being so quick to throw in the towel on our club... if thats how you feel mate go ahead. I won;t miss you.. Im Rangers till I die People like you are the biggest problem for me and unrepresentative of what I recognise as a Rangers supporter. Did you support Rangers in the 70s, 80s or even early 90s? If you did, did you simply sit there and tut,tut to yourself at the songs being sung and the sentiments being expressed or did you join in - all down to peer pressure, I'm sure? What did Ally McCoist have for his breakfast the morning he scored a hat-trick against Celtic in the Glasgow Cup Final of 1986? People that make such stupid statements can't usually back them up. Oh, by the way I've probably forgotten more about Rangers than you'll ever know. really.. and you call what I said a stupid statement?? you have no idea who I am or how much I know about Rangers That's exactly why I posted that line - I thought you would have at least got that. As for your comment again you justify my point as you have no idea who I am or how much I know about Rangers. Just so you know it was 2 soft boiled eggs with 10 toast soldiers, a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea (milk & 2 sugars)

You didn't answer the question. If you have been a fan since 83 then I would be extrenmely surprised if you are not disgusted at the club of 2008 and the people who are running it. You deserve the shambles of a club that is Murray Rangers today. I obviously have higher standards, expectations and ambitions for Rangers than you will ever have if you are satisfied with everything that is going on. higher standards than reaching the UEFA Cup final????I didn;t hear too many criticizing the club last May...same guys are in charge Thanks, you actually made my point for me. I want Rangers to win the UEFA Cup (if not the CL), not be runners up with a toothless display in the final. I want Rangers to win the SPL, not throw it away and finish 2nd to a shit celtc side. I want Rangers to have a go and try and win every match they play, especially at home and regardless of the opposition whether it is Barcelone, Real Madrid, Man Utd or whoever. As I say, you have the side and club you deserve.
