No. I will probably cancel ESPN though IF we are thrown out the SPL. I actually watch other sport though and not just football so cancelling Sky makes absoulutely no sense.

On the subject of Rangers not being permitted to take the SFA to civil court under FIFA rules, I was under the impression that the legal action was taken by Duff and Phelps and not the Football Club. If someone could confirm this?
-
STV are sayimg we are still under an SPL embargo and can't sign over 18 players.
First I've heard of it.
They are referring to the ban on transfers from being in admin. Once out of admin, the ban is lifted. Oh and the SFA can do one of the following.
a maximum fine of £100,000 to be imposed
in addition to this they can eject us from the Scottish Cup, suspend us (no clue), expulsion from participation in the game and/or termination of SFA membership.
All of them are essentially commercial suicide for the SFA so there is practically no chance of any of that happening as their sponsorship would vanish overnight.

The figures look like signing fees or image rights rather than salaries and these are based on a suggestion offered to the court, not actual hard facts. As someone else said earlier, EBTs are completely legal and are used by a multitude of companies.
They are primarily used by Directors of the company as a tax free loan source which in a lot of cases repayment is deferred indefinitely. I would assume that they would have to prove that the money was salary in order for Rangers to be in breach.
-
"BBC Scotland has also seen evidence, which was submitted to a court, suggesting that 53 Rangers players and staff had side-letters giving undertakings to fund their sub-trusts with cash."
The key word in that statement is "suggesting".
This indicates that the evidence they seen simply suggests that it may have been used and does not specifically indicate that it has. If it did they wouldn't use that word. In other words they are presenting a theory as a fact and it could be argued it is with the intent to mislead.
Someone should complain from the club, through the courts. If they don't, it is as good as an admission of guilt.
-
Hasn't he done his job though? Finding us a real buyer when no one would touch us ,and helped sort out the tax case...
And I don't think it would be unreasonable for him to walk away with some form of profit given the abuse he has endured.
Abuse that is completely deserved. The man is a shister of the highest order who is down 1p and potentially up millions at the expense of the club he allegedly loves. He has given us an additional £30 million of debt to fund his takeover which he categorically denied for months.
Frankly he should be called to account for the millions he pledged to the club when he commenced his takeover. Millions that he never invested and if he had, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Anyone still supporting him need their head looking at.

Just bought it in the Steam midweek madness sale (it's 8 quid for the next day or so then back up to 20). Downloaded the new update and started a new game. Chose Rangers, went to the transfer market and my team is in administration. I just cannot escape it, FFS!
-
It just gets worse and worse. Essentially one shister sold us to an even bigger shister and now one of the people who was shistered out of 20 million wants it back so he can essentially buy the club from the second shister.
Everyone else at the club during the time the first shister was in charge are in no way culpable as they didn't realise the first shister was infact a shister until the second shister who transpired to be a bigger shister, but not terribly good at hiding his shistering got caught by the taxman.
The subsequent investigation into the the second shister now points the finger at the first shister who may well, ironically and indirectly, save the club from the second shister by having to be back his previous shisterings to those he shistered.
Clear as fucking mud.

If we get a financial/points penalty for 3 seasons, we would be aswell just dropping down the divisions and getting ourselves promoted back to the SPL over subsequent seasons.
Why? and don't say to teach 'them' a lesson.
By the time we got back there, all the current SPL teams are likely to be in liquidation or suffering from 10 point administration penalties due to the lack of a TV deal and European money.
Maybe. But if there is one team in the SPL that would not go into liquidation because of lack of T.V money, who would you say it was?
That would put Celtic so far in front for about a decade
Your bit about European money is just void. Ten clubs budget for no European money and that other one club will make European money.
I don't give a shit about Celtic. Oh, and you give them too much credit. Without the UEFA coefficient or the TV Money they would have to drastically downsize no matter what shite Lawwell is feeding the Celtic support.
Who is to say that we would even survive with financial and point penalties, season after season. Nope I say fuck them. They think they will be better without us then let them have their wish. We get peace to rebuild while they get three years to downsize.
-
SPL for sure. Not into cutting my nose off to spite my face thanks. Sometimes I wonder if our fans actually want what's best for us. Too many folk interested in proving points and we'll show them. 'Them' gets far too much consideration from sections of our fans.
Everything should be done in the best interest of the club. Not for a fan base with alternative agenda's that include more politics than football.

We should drop to Division 3 as after the TV deal disappears Division 1 will quickly become the SPL. I'm pretty sure the likes of Dundee Utd and Kilmarnock will be able to apply to join Division 3 after they also go bankrupt.

From STV
Former board members at Rangers could be questioned as part of Peter Lawwell's investigation into the "alleged non-disclosure of payments to players".
More to follow...
Fixed that for you
-
What really upsets me, isn't the investigation itself, it's the so called Rangers supporting business men who have either got us in this situation or seem insistent on making matters even worse. The whole sorry bunch of them can fuck off. I await the headline 'Former Rangers Director Shits Through Supporters Letterbox'. They are all cunts of the highest...lowest order.
-
I'd be getting prepared to be astounded if I was you...
I'll go get into my 'prepared to be astounded' position.

If there are interested parties waiting in the wings, and they have already had discussions with the administrators and these interested parties have placed conditions on their purchase, such as their being a first team still in place. I would assume it to be in both the administrators, creditors, clubs and investors interest to do everything possible to maintain the first team strength.
I will, however, be astounded if we emerge from today with no redundancies at all.
-
If, as being reported, Whyte is liable to the club for £9 million and a further £4 million is being held at his solicitors then it is only right that they either hold off redundancies or come to some other arrangement while that gets sorted out. We need an additional £4.5 million by all accounts and there is potentially around £13 million owed to the club.
-
Just said on the radio it could be as much as 11
it will consist of mainly fringe players and 2 or 3 high earners. Any others will be youth or backroom staff.
I expect the higher earners to be McCulloch, Papac and Lafferty however all bets are essentially off atm.
-
Looking at our current squad, I fail to see where we a are overspending £10 million a year. Where the fuck is the money going?
As for players, if they need to find 200k a week it will be goodbye to all our highest earners and some of the fringe players, unless of course the £10 million figure banded around by Whyte is a crock of shite, just like everything else to be ejected from his gub.
By the end of the day I would expect, Healy, McCulloch, Alexander, Papac, Ortiz, Bedoya and McKay to be gone. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Whittaker, Lafferty and one other highish earner to be gone. Trying to think where we have players that can come in and can only think of the midfield where we have Ness, Hutton and Fleck in the youth ranks. So my hunch would be someone else from the midfield joining them.
It sucks ass but at the end of the day, the Admin has to save us money in order to get out of Admin in time for European Registration. If we do not make that date then we are in for even more pain.

Is this not on the telly
It's on pay per view channel Primetime on Sky. Yes you read that correctly. The meaningless friendly in Slovenia is on pay per view.
-
The SFA sold the TV rights to Primetime? What a bunch of knob-ends. I would swear it was run by idiots....oh wait.
-
Yes I think we need that. Its not £15 million, well that could mean its £14.9 million.
or £149 million. All would fit with his statement. Couldn't the other shareholders get him sectioned?
-
So in a nutshell, Whyte bought Rangers for £1, paid off the debt to Lloyds by borrowing....sorry selling 25% of the Season Ticket income for 3 years, before he had actually bought the club for £1. put the £20 million in his own company first and not paid any VAT on it, effectively doubling the clubs debt to the taxman and moving the clubs £20 million debt from Lloyds to him.
He's down a £1 but potentially up £20 million and the club is in the shit. He does realise if this turns out to be as bad as it looks, there is every likelihood that his statement that 'he doesn't do walking away' may turn out to be the only true thing he's uttered in years.
-
No wonder he said no. He wasn't very good with Everton so what makes you think he would want to go to a wee team where he will get very little money to spend.
The only highlight for a wolves supporter is staying in the EPL.
Considering the situation he was in at Everton, he did exceptionally well saving them from relegation every season.
-
I suspect he was given written permission by Lloyds Bank. They couldn't give a shit about the football club.
Send ‘em down.

They all were talking themselves up prior to the announcement as they didn't think it was a decision they would actually have to make. Now the do have to and they have all effectively backed themselves into a corner. So fuck the sorry lot of them. Yes they will all likely survive, but at what cost. Without the sponsors and the TV the standard of player they will be able to afford will fall to a level closer the English 4th tier. As for TV and sponsors, who the fuck is going to have any interest whatsoever in sponsoring a League that has only a single team capable of winning? And as for Champions League, with the level of the other teams, we will be lucky if we maintain 1 spot nevermind both.
