  1. That is not quite true. These fine gentleman did play their part, as well as others, but the night was at the request of the Rangers players and was organised by Billy Montgomery, Ian Durrant & John Giligan. The shirts auctioned on the night were organised by big David Weir.
  2. I was in the Supper Club within 29 last night for a tribute night for Rangers kit man Jimmy Bell. Most of the first team squad and management team where in attendance to pay tribute to the hard work that Jimmy has done for the players over the years. I would imagine most folks would have forgiven Barry Ferguson for not attending the event but all credit to him for turning up. He stayed for the opening speeches and then he left after paying his best wishes to Jimmy. To be honest he looked totally distraught and a guy who had the weight of the world on his shoulders. What was clear to the couple of folks that spoke to him was that he loves the Rangers and he is totally gutted at the last couple of week’s events. Now let me tell you that this is not a defence of Barry. I did defend him during the PLG fiasco but since then I believe that Barry has ‘reaped what he sowed’ and he has had far too much influence in our club. Who knows what will happen next – maybe last night was an indication that Barry has finally realised the error of his ways. The question must be is it too late?
  3. 45,000 tickets sold yesterday. Amazing result from those involved.
  4. There are still spaces available for match day hospitality this Saturday for the Motherwell game. The price is £35pp for a 5 course meal, glass of champagne and further nibbles after the game. Easter Sunday lunch is available for £15pp with kids being half price and infants free. All just a 2 min walk from the stadium. If you are interested in booking please PM me or call 0845 601 1873
  5. and lets hope we can make it to £1,000. Regardless of that I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved and helped us support this wonderful project. With the Rangers Supporters Association, the Rangers Assembly and other fan groups also raising tremendous amounts of money it really does show that Rangers fans are the best there is on all fronts but inparticular when in support of our own. I did not know Garry Lynch very well but I am sure he would be delighted at the response from all Rangers fans. The new target for the Rising Stars appeal is £40,000 and this would give a main prize of £16,000 with the winner receiving their cheque at the next Old Firm game at Ibrox. To get involved please PM me or any of the admin staff or contact Rangers Lottery directly.
  6. ah good old shuggie burns think he was the last orangeman to pull on our famous jersey well done for helping these heroes out contacts No problem mate! It was such a great night for the bears that I am considering organising a larger event in one of the hotels.
  7. Thanks to everyone who attended and made this night a tremendous success. Everyone had a great night as they enjoyed listening to Hugh Burns, Bomber Brown & Chick Young. There was also plenty of time for folks to get photos / autographs from all the legends in attendance. The raffle and auction were a superb success and a good few quid was raised for the Rangers Benevolent Fund. The highlight of the night was one of the original £5 share certificates from when the club went public in 1899 that down very well at the auction. A quite amazing item!
  8. I've heard pretty decent info that Ferguson has now resigned from the Scotland scene. Is he going before he is pushed?
  9. I really think we might just get a lift from this.
  10. It is only removed if we can actually sell them. Certainly their worth has reduced by a fair amount now given their status. Long term, this may help us. Short-term it doesn't. I disagree as short-term it could work in our favour. We may just get a response from the squad.
  11. Their friends within the squad will shit themselves at this and probably get the finger oot or they know they will be next. As for the £50k per week that is £2.5 million per year removed from the wage bill of a club that is heavily in debt. Plus lets be honest we will not miss either of them.
  12. Hats off to you guys for standing up to these two fools and let that be a lesson to anyone else in the dressing room who thinks they can treat our club and fans with disrespect. Everyone knows that Ferguson has too big an influence in the dressing room and constantly undermines the club and McGregor is on the front pages more than he is on the back pages of the papers. You might get away with that if you are playing well but he has been pish this year. I actually think that we have a better chance of winning the league without them both.
  13. I think they deserve a lot more than criticism. After everything they have been involved in they should be shown the exit door. If you had heard the story about players caught drinking and you had to guess the names would you have named the 7 of them? I bet you would not have been too far away from it. This is all about individuals who want to achieve the best at their sport by being 100% committed (the guys who went to their bed) or guys who get paid too much and act like fannies.
  14. I normally agree with you on most things mate but on this I think you are miles out! What we really have is a captain of one of the best clubs in the world acting like an arsehole. Like all the other players he had the choice to go home to his wife and kids (Kenny Miller went home) and get over the disappointment of a defeat and a poor performance. None of that for our Barry! Lets go back to the hotel and get a kip, recover from the game and prepare for a crucial international game. (McManus & Darren Fletcher went straight to their bed) Nope the gaffer said we can have a beer so lets sit to 11am drinking lager and vodka / red bulls (that will not help him sleep), abuse folks in the hotel, act like brats and then go to our kip at 11am. Absolutely diabolical!!! I don't really care that other players were involved or the manager allowed them to have a beer but if this is the attitude of our players to a recent defeat and a preperation for a crucial game then we have no chance of winning the league. At least the pair of fuds apologised to Burley and you would have thought the matter was over. Nope!! They have to act like a couple of cretins and give the fingers to media folks. Sitting on the bench like 2 huffy, spoilt kids. The whole episode is moronic and is a complete embarrassment to our club. Both have enough history for us all to know they are troublemakers and we all know that Ferguson has way too much influence in the dressing room. Please SDM & Bain use the summer to weed out these players from Ibrox.
  15. Although I agree with the sentiments of your comments for me Ferguson & McGregor should be dropped from Rangers first team and shown the door as soon as possible. This is no knee-jerk reaction but more a fan who can't believe these fuds can continue to embarrass our club without being disciplined. To think of all the wonderful captains we have had at Ibrox and we now have a petulent kid.
  16. We have a target of 1000 ticket sales for RM and we are going great guns. Please get involved if you have not so far.
  17. This event is now sold out and to be honest we could have sold another 100+ tickets.
  18. Maybe about 4% but I will cover the cost of any paypal payments.
  19. That was the target or this season mate. They missed the target but sold 42,500 season tickets.
  20. Internally it is believed that Rangers have forecast a reduction in season ticket numbers by 20%. I'll still be buying my season ticket again but i know a lot of folks having second thoughts. What are your thoughts on why this is happening? Credit crunch and a lack of funds or watching poor quality football?
