ah fuck doesnt sound like the best thing to do...am not looking to go for a week only a few days if i was to get back for the football .
With the time difference (7 hours mountain time to Glasgow) and jet lag it really isn't worth going for anything less than a week.

I go back a couple of times a year from the States but you have to pick your times so you can see as many games as possible in the shortest period of time. i.e. If there is a european game mid week I leave on the Thursday overnight to the UK get the game on the Saturday, mid week in Europe and usually the next league game on a Sunday. Travel back on the Monday. Not only is it expensive but you use up a lot of hols in a hurry.

Was I the only person that thought we weren't too bad in the final?
After a poor first half for both teams, in the second half, Zenit allowed us more possession so they could attack us on the counter (their successful natural system that season). We looked like scoring a couple of times but eventually they did take their chance on the counter.
In addition we put a decent bit of pressure on late in the game and Novo missed a sitter. They then scored again as we pushed men forward.
Hardly embarrassing IMO.
We didnt play too bad but in the end the better team won
If we had 2 or 3 quality players we would have won it no bother, the blame lies at Murrays doorstep for lack of planning and investment

Reasonable money has been made available to Walter by Murray to strengthen the team. Walter seems to think that another 3 strikers were more important than the midfield. As a confirmed Murray hater it pains me to say that it is not really his fault if the money he makes available is not spent wisely.

It would be very close between Greig and Gough for me. Probably Gough would just shave it maybe because the success is fresher in my mind.

The situation is bad.
1. Murray won't spend or can't spend because of fear of sending us into another crippling debt spiral. I am no Murray fan but don't see him selling the club as an automatic 10-20mil injection to the transfer kitty.
2. Walter has steadied the ship by packing the defence (midfielders playing deep) making us hard to beat but very unattractive to watch with the long ball to 1 man upfront. These tactics worked to steady the ship the unfortunate thing is we can see no way forward from what we watched last season with the signings he has so far made this season. If he has limited transfer funds surely he should have waited until he unloaded a couple of forwards before adding 3 more. The limited funds could have been better used elsewhere in our team. He has to be given until at least September to see what else he is adding and how the team are performing but we can't keep spending our limited resources on players that quite simply are not helping the team.

Was watching the Hibs Barca game last night and during the break I flicked in ra Sellick Tele ........ they were showing some kind of documentary of their roots and how they were formed etc. The voiceover goes on to say that Sellick are a proud institution and have great catholic roots but do not link to secretarianism, and the next bit is what pi55ed me right off, "THE LEAST SAID ABOUT RANGERS AND SECRETARIANISM THE BETTER"!
I would NEVER EVER see anything like this on RTV. This is again another incident where they show themselves for what they are.

For me it has to be Thompson. Weir won't play inall the games as his age is catching up with him. The kings comand of our language is lacking. I think it has to be an outfield player.

I think the fact that we won nothing of any importance playing extremely boring football last season and we see nothing much in our signings so far to show a great change for the better is why there is an air of negativity around the boards. An exciting new signing would go a long way to change this but no new signing of quality has so far been forthcoming.

For people like me who spend 95% of their life overseas the internet is a godsend. It enables us to keep up to date with what's going on at our club and we can even have little ciber arguments concerning players, tactics etc just like I used to have with my Rangers mates in the pub. The 3 F's family, friends and football are the things I miss most about living abroad the internet helps bring all 3 closer.

The sad thing is that it was not so much an injury but a medical condition that could return at any time. He was out for 6 months when he was very young with the same thing.
