  1. So who's going to the GERS convention in Niagara Falls in June?

    ME!

I'll be there for sure. We'll have to get a new RM convention pic this year.

Saudi, I owe ya a pint...been told I have to be good now cause am on the exec though lol. This might be a challenge lol

Surely you don't expect me to let alcohol anywhere near my lips

    OK maybe 1

It was for medicinal purposes only of course ;)

Are you guys sorted for getting to Niagara from the airport?

Not yet. I'm flying into Buffalo and making my way over from there. Do you know if there is anything arranged.

The last information I saw is that they were in contact with a shuttle service but not heard the final details as yet. How many are travelling with you?

I'm coming up early to play some golf in Buffalo but will probably end up coming over with the Naples mob on the Wednesday.

Most of my gang are flying into Toronto from Glasgow.

  4. Has anyone considered that it might be purely down to fitness levels? Fergie hasn't trained with the first team for a couple of weeks and is a midfielder, cause of that it can take a little bit longer to get back up to speed and therefore requires his training to be initially with the reserves as the first team will be concentrating on tactics etc for the game on Sunday, whereas McGregor is a goalie and it's a lot easier for him.

he was training himself at home during the last two weeks...I think its much more letting him know who's boss. I read somewhere Greggsy was more penitent than Baz...dunno if thats true or not but it might explain Baz being sent to the reserves...it sure must be humble pie time for him

He was in Dubai the majority of the last 2 weeks.

    his bruv said

"It would have been easy for Barry to feel sorry for himself, to take a week off and go away to maybe Dubai or some hot country, but he didn't. He just knuckled down and has trained at his own home.

Don't let facts get in the way of the anti barry stuff..... ;)

He must have just come back for the day for Jimmy Bells party then right back to Dubai the next day

  5. not going but saudi has told me these nights are great

we are defo doing the vegas 1 if saudi gets me some tickets

No problem even a place in our golf team if you want. Last time in Vegas was right after Helicopter Sunday. The Piano bar was rocking. Next year it's in the Flamingo.

    Ha feckin Ha :wanker: .

thanks is it in a hotel? my cousin stays in toronto might make the trip if i can get time off work

It's in the Sheraton on the Falls. Over a thousand bears will be there. The Govan Prody Boys Flute band supplying the music on the Friday night.

  8. To those criticising communication, you're right, it's been awful. Since last year we've been signed up to the new Supporters Direct system but it's taken a bit longer for it t be developed than we'd hoped. We now have it and are in the process of moving all the info onto it. It allows us to send e-mails and texts so will prove much more cost effective. In the past it has cost around £2K to mail out to members, even then when people have changed address they haven't always told us so they don't get the information. Despite goings on last year, the Trust has not changed in any way in terms of our aims and objectives. We continue to attract new members and there will always be people who don't renew, it's been like that since day one.

Sorry mate but like I said I'm an overseas life member and I've been hearing this for years about how communication is going to improve but it never does.

Also you can think what you like but outside of FF, MD is pretty much disliked by rank and file Rangers supporters and does recruitment of potential new members more harm than good. This is not just a RM phenomenon, when I am back I go to the games on 2 different busses. One RSC to the home games and a different RSC to the away games and the majority on both busses despise him.

  9. Just got space on my calendar to go, however Fri & Sat night sold out, so probably won't head up from DC unless some tickets become available. 5 of our club are heading up though.

I may have a couple of spare tickets, one of our guys is doubtful. Won't know for sure until I get back to Orlando next week.

  10. I took a life membership which was probably a mistake. The lack of communication is terrible. The answer is always go to the AGM if you want to change things. That however is not always possible especially for overseas based supporters. I paid my money TRUSTing the people on the board to look after our best interests, They however can't be bothered to tell us what is going on.

The thing is when they do come out and occasionally defend the club and fans I am left thinking why this can't happen more often.

  11. I’m caught in 2 minds with this, the childish petulance shown while on the bench with the “V” signs was IMHO a disgrace for a Rangers captain and he fully deserved being stripped of the captaincy.

I have however had the pleasure of playing golf with Barry and the arrogant facade that he seems to show is just simply not true. He was a perfect gentleman not only with me and the other 2 players in our foursome but with everyone who came along looking for autographs etc. Perhaps this is why I’m so disappointed at his stupidity but it certainly does not surprise me that he showed up for Jimmy’s tribute.

  12. Been in Durranty's company a couple of times. Total arse is how i would describe him. Also know that he isnt "well thought of" amongst the players, especially the younger ones at Ibrox.

    He does fuck all (tu)

im surprised you thought ian was an arse as ive always found him ok and good company

    Ditto,

He's always been OK with me. I also know he puts in a lot of work behind the scenes that not many people know about.

  13. I think overalll that football has been used as a vehicle by politicians to try and score some easy political points and the banning of TBB and the subsequent convictions have been the casualties.

D'Art - if the lyrics were changed to remove 'fenian' on what grounds could the song then be deemed to be unnacceptable? Unless I'm wrong - isn't the song itself banned with or without the lyric in question?

For me, the biggest casualty of the banning has been a troubling and very real sense of injustice amongst those very Rangers supporters who you rightly identify as able to make heroes of players from all religious or cultural backgrounds. You could easily add the focal point our iconic, anthemic song provides at key points in any given match as being stolen from us.

I'm not suggesting that you personally take this on for us, but isn't this exactly the sort of task the Trust should be charged with? Of course it should fundamentally be a duty of the club. The day Murray publicly hung Findlay was also the day I understood beyond doubt that The Rangers is nothing more than a business interest to him. So there can be no surprise that the club under his control does not accept that we, the support, should instinctively be defended as vigorously as any other part of the whole.

But, despite Murray's dereliction of duty, Article 10 enshrines our right to freedom of expression, and if Murray doesn't understand the need to challenge the injustice on our behalf, we should do it ourselves. EUFA, to my mind, have no right to stamp on it and should be taken to task. The reality is that supporters of other clubs in Scotland enjoy the rights freely and without penalty. This imbalance was never acceptable - but will continue to be the case until (as you demand) we decide to act to challenge the situation.

I could be wrong Moses but I thought I read somewhere that the UEFA ruling actually makes mention of the tune ( Marching Through Georgia ) and not just the words.

If that's the case it just demonstrates how flawed the ruling was. Can you imagine getting arrested for humming the tune !?!?

"What's the accused charged with constable ?"

Humming in a sectarian manner m'lud"

Have the words 'You couldn't make this up' ever been so fitting ?

D'art I thought that UEFA banned TBB but Murray banned the tune from Ibrox. If UEFA banned the tune surely no support would be allowed to sing their version.

  14. Not every Rangers supporter threw bottles at a team bus in Spain but the Rangers support were demonized for it as we have been on many occasions. Not every Rangers fan in Manchester went on the rampage but the Rangers support were demonized. Yet when this scum throw coins at a referee or carry out the disgusting pizza box parade on Sunday even some of our own support turn and say but it's only 1 or 2 or Jaun Guy. No wonder there is no parity in the press.

  15. It's a shame I'll be in Kissimmee in the summer, after the football season. Is Kissimmee a large town? Is the Fox and the Hound near Windsor Hills (I think that's where I'm staying)?

Windsor Hills is a very nice place near to the entry to Disney but about 8 miles from the Fox and Hounds. There are a few bars and resturants at the top of the road on 192.
