This is post only for the positive thinkers so no "we canny fill it the noo" .
With season tickets looking good an increase should be in our thoughts , with all these other clubs expanding Ibrox is getting ever more left behind .granted they are premiership clubs with mega money , the stadium has not looked better but it's getting on for forty years old . the corners where the screens are cant be done as Murray shit it and played the easy game filling in with screens instead of using metal trussing similar to the bill struth stand to span between . So main point how would it be done [btw I would move them to last sections of club deck ,mainstand and enclosure, lets get the Broomie back and keep those scum out of sight as they do for us.

There not many of their team has experienced an old firm game so that's rubbish, Rangers have nothing to fear it's their player's who are not use to big crowds and atmosphere .. DJ keep quiet and stop being a fud

Wonder when Ibrox was reconstructed did they think it would last 40yrs without major work in the future ? well this is the future and if we think our club has the stature we all talk about then what's wrong with wanting the best , yes all the premiership clubs are leaving us behind and tv money has helped them with that but a lick of paint onto old paint just looks cheap and nasty the Rangers of old would never be second best as we all know what it was like when in the early eighties WE had the most modern stadium in Britain that was being no.1 . There's nothing wrong being positive.

You can build a 80,000 capacity - ugly, soulless barn - most modern day built stadiums don't remotely have the character, class nor tradition of Ibrox. The history of Ibrox, not least the beautiful brick frontage, is something that helps makes Rangers so special. I'll take Ibrox - even with work needing done - over most of the rubbish constructed these days. Not many of the aforementioned are 5 Star and with the proposed work carried out them it'll hopefully be restored to it's previous splendor.
Re. the OP point - the thought of ripping down Ibrox and ending up with something resembling that plastic mess in the East? That simply makes me want to heave. Let's see if the the play set manages to last as long as Ibrox has done.
Yes most modern stadiums are cheap and tacky and not the same class as Ibrox , the 5 star rating has done nothing for it no euro finals and most fans hate to see Ibrox playing third fiddle to pa-----d and hampden and that is mostly down to capacity and the SFA. Ibrox was a horrible when first remodelled but has turn into one of the best ,all we need is corners filled and stop the crazy segregation get to 55000 and that will keep it up to date with the new .It was said the corners were done with this in mind but don't know if that was piss talk.

Think the biggest let down with Ibrox was when they didnt deliver with full corner seating as was proposed and from then till now it is always brought up for the increasing capacity option. getting near to 40yr old now and lagging behind nowadays to modern day stadiums but still most fans love the place .Get the corners filled adding maybe 4000 extra seats and a complete tidy up and 90% of fans would be happy.

Think it will be giant vinyl advertising banners between Copeland and bill struth and broomland and bill struth stands taking away the gaps AT LAST.Now change the segregation too much empty seats taken away.Anyone know what he was talking about with regards to "putting banners up at the Copland and Broomloan"? Is he talking about the outside which Man U and the scum have?

Rangers could have won that game just no luck on the day, but why do our creative players in midfield stop and pass back to the defenders hate to see that and passing back to the keeper can they not do anything with the ball themselves? A bit more direct play through the middle is needed , can't fault most of the players though McKay was quiet and negative , Wilson looks like he was running through the shallow end of a pool got to be the slowest uninterested looking player Rangers have.

Think health and safety in this country would affect the amount in each section so don't know if would ever look packed as in Germany .
Would like to see all the Copeland Rd get it, The standing is not allowed in Europe so what would happen then?

Should not be captain , far too quiet on the park btw never rated him as a player run meets a opposition player stops puts foot on ball and passes back or at best square , he seems to have lost a yard in pace . And as a DEFENDER well that's laughable.

Hate seeing training pictures because he's always laughing and joking yet on match days he has a serious face and arms crossed and no touchline verbal tactical help, opposition score a goal and the three stooges just stand there motionless if he showed anger and ruthlessness at the players then they might have more respect for him but he is just a joker . Ally you WERE a legend but now to most fans you are a joke of a manager and that how he will be remembered.

Think Ally has been playing for the play off's since Hearts win at Ibrox , no fight , no tactics no help from those two duds McDowall and Durrant and most of all the players that are not good enough Black stands out a mile as a terrible player and Wallace I just don't see a player in him his good foot is useless .
Ally has to take the blame for team selection.

no excuse to give a keeper the ball and expect him to do better than an outfield player can, nine times out of ten he boots it up the park to the opposition, just cowardice and should be punished with a fine and being dropped.

Compare him with modern day keepers he was too big and gangly , stiff ,slow , just plain crap. Late seventies early eighties when he was STILL playing was the worst time for me. Jim Stewart took over from him and he was just as bad.

All for expansion, ibrox is too small now. standing areas would not increase capacity much because of this countries health and safetry . fill all the corners , hate the open corners always looks unfinished to me.

Peter McCloy was played for too long in the first team and then replaced with Jim Stewart .... a very bad time to be Rangers fan. Thinking back.

He is making a right c... of himself pandering to those council b......s ,to give things for the community ,that's gcc's job not Rangers . Get things done for Rangers fans and Rangers fans ONLY. He has no money and no ambition aye steady the ship but get someone with real money to get us into the future Ibrox will need major work no just a bit of blue panelling and repainting here and there [again] .Capacity increase not feasible ,well that's the easy way out of that .
