  1. Why is there so much negativity in this thread all of a sudden <cr> ?

6 hours ago everything was good as new :D

I'm still standing by the fact that Murray said he would only sell to the correct person. People have came and went, but Whyte has stuck.

Murray, despite his performances recently, will know everything these is to know about Whyte. He will have made sure of it.

    100% agree.

  2. Ok, my tuppence worth.

I don't really give a fuck if he cant follow through with the 5 million promised for the next 5 seasons.I'd take one year of it and we'll go from there. We'll be free of Lloyds stranglehold. The money saved from this can be added back to the playing wage bill. Any profit generated can be re-invested in the squad. We will be able to choose whether we sell players rather than forced to accept the derisory offers of late.

We don't know that much about Whyte save for the fact that he's a bluenose. The takeover will fuck off those from the East and our enemies in the fourth estate massively. Their debt will begin to bite, especially when we are Champions again this year. Whatever Whytes endgame is, running us into to the ground will not be part of the strategy. A Glazeresque scenario would only be attractive should he be able to then sell us again and, due to the paucity of those prepared to take a punt on us in the past couple of years, it would be business suicide.

    My guess is either

    1. He's a fan with plenty of cash prepared to have a bit of fun with the club he loves.

    2. He has plans for the ground around Ibrox and sees this as the means of getting a return on his investment.

3, He's a visionary who is banking on the prosepct of a European league or entry into the Premiership as happening sometime soon and dramatically increasing the value and turnover of Rangers in the short to medium term.

Whatever, right now, we should take solace in two things. Nobody speculating online or in the press actually knows anything and a Whyte takeover CANNOT be any worse than the current mire we are in. So my votes firmly for Craig Whyte. Relax, enjoy the ride and pray for a swift and positive conclusion. We are the people!!

    Good post mate.

  3. I expect there to be one more hiccup in this deal.

We never seem to do things the easy way do we?

TBH mate i don’t see anything wrong in the way this has been delt with, on the contrary, to me, it’s been delt with very professionally all be it a long process which actually install confidence in me that when we get an official announcement from CW it will be sign sealed and delivered

  4. But the area around Ibrox could be turned into like its own little village. A question to all the bears on here. If it was developed with shops and a few pubs , resteraunts and bars and clubs who would go for a night out down beside Ibrox like you would in the toon and spend the whole night there without going into town. I know i would if it was done properly

I was brought up in the area mate. it’s rough as fuck, it’s never gonna drop the tag of being a neddy area, but, if Ellis thinks he can do something then why not i guess?

  5. True mate

When we done the beam backs years ago,did we not get a good 20,000 fans at the games though?

My dad use to take me when i was like 8/9 to them so can't mind what the crowds were like.

I went to a few and enjoyed it. Canny remember how many were there though. TBH matey, it aint gonna happen IMO.

  6. Needs a lick of paint all over the stadium

Better catering ie: more choices & cheaper food

Get the big screens fixed & do the beambacks like they done years ago for away games

Like whats been said,no point increasing the stadium so we have even more empty seats for midweek games

I can’t see the beam backs working for normal league games. maybe for big CL games, even then, most have sky, or access through the computer to live games

  7. Aye it was just bogging mate.

Ibrox is a place to be proud of, bring it back upto scratch (tu)

Yeah, the external side of things need a lick of paint. If you are in the Govan you can see the white frame that holds up the roof on the main. it’s boggin and frankly embarrassing. It would take a good company 2-3 weeks to clean that down and repaint it.

  8. I know renovate was the wrong word meant build over.

Yeah fair dooz. I am dam sure this is why Ellis is involved, he will have ideas, and tbh i am open to his ideas. CW is a self made millionaire. To me that means he’s a very smart guy and wont suffer fools. He will have done some sort of due diligence on Ellis himself making sure both Rangers and CW himself will benefit from what ever skills Ellis can bring to the table.

  9. Id rather see it cleaned and painted before anything else tbh.

Some decent grub would be nice. They even have wedges and Pizza at the Brendanbowl. Why can't we have stuff like that.

Yeah. When i was up meeting you the other day, mind when we looked at the side of the Copland road there was rust etc etc.

  10. Clyde LOL. I see why you lot hate it so much. The Rangers are the biggest sporting institution in Scotland and one of the biggest in the UK. Now, i know media outlets have to have a balanced outlook on everything. You would think that they would dedicate tonights phone in to The Rangers, we are going through one of the biggest, if not THE biggest moment in our clubs history yet we have shit about Motherwell etc.

Or have i got the blue tinted glasses on?
