I'm in the exact same boat mate, my old mans funeral was on Monday, hard enough losing anyone without it being someone so integral to your life.

I had a post typed out and decided not to post it but the amazing thing about it is I had special mentions for @K.A.I and yourself @rab wilson in it as the two posters he ever mentioned to me by name from on here. He was a passionate man about his beloved Rangers and he quickly noticed both of your passion for us as well. It made his heart swell to know we still had a fan base with such deep rooted love for the teddy bears.

Either way Sunday will be an emotional day for us. I'll happily raise a glass to them both

That is an honour mate.i think of you lot as family.sometimes you are the only family ive got.im so sorry for your loss mate.at the moment i feel nothing but guilt cos we never made it up before he passed.but when i tie his scarf to the gates on sunday i know he will be above me.thanks hutchy.your dad must have been so proud of ye.

So, sorry to hear of your Dad’s death, Rab. Heartfelt condolences.

We all know that Bill Shankly’s greatest quote is a tease. “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”

The irony of it though for diehard and traditional fans like yourself and your dad is that quote at  various stages in your life was true. I bet you remember with great happiness the great occasions when you and your dad shared the highs and the lows of supporting our great football team. The agonies and the ecstacies, the shared joy at the successes.

Words can never express that shared feeling adequately, but that comfortable sense of a shared heritage you had with your dad  will live on through your family and friends, and always be remembered fondly by you.

Many posters on here too  will have their own special memories of sharing those emotions on many a match day or night at Ibrox and so many other places with  Dads, relatives and friends no longer with us, and I know that they, like me, will be nodding their head towards you in sympathy to your great loss.

    Tannerall.

Thank you so much for those beautiful words and they are so true.i reckon my old man had seen them all .he had seen the greatest Rangers team in the early 60s and got washec away in a whoosh when kai johannsen battered THAT goal in the replay and we both used to pump fists when sportscene came on in the early 80s when they showed tam forsyth celebrating the winner in 73.my dad said they were the 2 most important goals in Rangers history. Back then i argued it was the Redford chip against the arabs in 81.baxter for him, bobby russell for me.we both agreed on wee durrant.we fell out.never said goodbye.but i know my dad will be watching over me on Sunday. Thank you everyone of you bears who wrote words of condolences.but there is one thing that big Rab insisted on everytime we played these bastards...... fuckin intae them Rangers!

    Thank you all.

didnt mean to accuse you of such mate, just speaking generally :tu:

i dont see a major issue with what you posted, as others have said i think it would be fair to warn a player if he was on his last chance so its fair enough to warn the manager, as long as its done fairly

Good refereeing and common sense.gives the manager an option, as long as its both ways , both teams.maybe thats whats missing from our football.but then you would  get cunts like lennon saying the ref spoke to the other manager more than him and fuckin ruin it.beaton was fuckin dire on saturday btw.

He might have missed his chances but he keeps getting in there to miss them.glad he didnt come off or it could have destroyed his confidence.bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks.we were superb today.all round its been a perfect time for me up the road since thursday.stated for months we can catch these bastards.my wee section in the main stand front was bouncing at times.every cunt was going tonto when we scored.well done Rangers.

  5. ...but did the stadium tour today.the host norman was magic by the way.ive never been inside the doors of the marble halls.i was like a wee boy.we have that massive bit of class that sets us apart from any other club.a wee tear was shed watching the tape all about us at the start.walking down the tunnel my heart was thumping and seeing ibrox in all her magnificence at ground level was quite overwhelming.even as a season ticket holder i never realised how massive ibrox is.

But the blue room really got me.the mural of davie cooper finished me when norman started talking about him.started weeping like a wean for my all time hero. Trophy room absolute majestic.

But norman, the guy who told me not to change the words to the songs whilst there or we would all be in trouble, thanks very much for being a great ambassador for our unique club and portraying it in such a way ., that it left this big cunt feeling 10 ft tall when he left.

3 games in 9 days for them aswell.

It' a pity they are going to go through against a shite zenit team.i just hope to fuck whoever gets them next knocks them out.the faster the better.we will catch celtic this season.but knowing us we will blow it when it' in our own hands .some of their "superstars " have been outed as ordinary as fuck.we are a better team than them, and Brenda knows it.but we have to stop fuckin up.

Is he still hanging out Walter's erse.j Oh right, outlived his usefulness.

Right place, right time as the scum were on their erse. Far superior players around him providing service. A journeyman who out sat every cunt and his tongue still has brown staining on it.

He was never in million world class, nor the most talented striker we have ever had. Far fucking from it.

The biggest gravy train guzzler of them all. He saw a good thing and hung on in there and raised the bar on guzzling.

Ally did everything for Ally. End of.

    Fucking shameless.

Fuckin shite post .the boy was magic for us on the park.could not cut it  as a manager but neither could John Greig.super ally was a fenian  slayer of the highest order.dont care if he did it for him or us.all I know is I loved him.he needed somebody like Jimmy calderwood or John lambie behind him when we were in the lower leagues to guide him.the reason most on here fire shit at him is because we all thought ally would deliver something special as he was always lucky.he couldn't.the cash? Those who stayed away did far worse in my eyes.he made massive mistakes., some so shameful. Challenge cup etc. Wish him and jasper had pulled it off.could not be any worse than it  is now; full of cowards who won't put their foot in.

You know what I mean mate. I think you're a bit younger than me so it might not have been the same for you, but when I was a wean Ally was the greatest thing since sliced bread he was the absolute hero of Rangers and even taigs would admit he was the best striker in Scotland by far, since before I was old enough to remember I had a McCoist flag on my wall and he was the player id always pretend to be when playing in the streer and the player everyone wanted to see and every single Bear loved him and he gave it back time and time again, he epitomized Rangers to me and was every young bears hero, I doubt id be as big a fan as I am now if it wasn't for Super Ally, add that to the fact he's the record OF scorer which is a record that will never be matched imo on top of all his other records

To forget that is to forget one of if not the most important strikers and parts of Rangers history. He was the best striker and goalscorer Rangers and Scotland has ever seen. A total Legend on and off the pitch

His managerial career was a different time in a different era and while I don't appreciate the way he conducted himself and shafted us out of money I can separate that from the past.

He also wasn't the one who shafted us the worst and at the same time he was taking money our own fans boycotted and nearly sent us into admin again. I've judged McCoist already for what he did but I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to the story. At the time he was taking money from the Club all the big mouth boycotters were telling us all to "starve them out" so they are fucking hypocrites to criticise McCoist for starving them out

At the end of the day all im saying is that McCoist as a player cannot ever be forgotten because we wouldn't be success we are now if not for him. If you want to let his later action spoil it for you that's fine but I'll never forget the good times he gave us.

It's better to have loved and lost as they say. Id rather us have been the most successful Club ever and go thru the shite we've been thru than for us to be some no marks who've never won a thing

Without a doubt one of the best posts ive ever seen on here and sums my feelings up perfectly.cant bring myself to hate him....i love him too much.my teenage hero alongside durrant  and Billy boy Ferguson.
