Jimmy Speirs scored once for Scotland at the international level and racked up a total of 92 career goals at club level with teams like Rangers, Clyde and Leeds City. He enlisted in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders at the start of World War I, despite being officially exempted for having two young children. He  won a Military Medal for bravery in May 1917, which earned him leave in Scotland during the summer of that year. He died in action the following year.

Someone should tell Barry that we don't dislike him for what happened with Murty, we don't even dislike him for being overated and not that good, we dislike him for telling his mates in the press everything that happened behind the scenes which he knew.

During the course of our research we recently located the final resting place in Craigton Cemetery Glasgow of Archie Steel.
Archie Steel joined Rangers in 1876 and was a member of the first Rangers team to win a Trophy, the Glasgow Merchants Charity Cup in 1879.
That Trophy is today on display within the Football Museum at Hampden.
Archie Steel played for the Club for 6 seasons.
While we were at Kinning Park Archie was one of ‘’ The Moonlighters’’ . This was a name given to the Rangers players by the locals as our lads often trained late into the night honing their skills.
Using the pen name Old International he wrote a wonderful book 25 Years of Football which was published in 1891.
He died on 17th April 1928, three days after the Rangers ended a 25 year wait for the Scottish Cup after beating celtic 4-0.
The stone has been re-erected and a Memorial Plaque funded by The Restoration of Rangers Graves Project has been placed at the grave of Archie Steel.
The stone will be cleaned in due course.
