  1. I'm backing the board with this. They know more about the whole takeover than any single one of us. Most of the arguments in here slating the board are contradictary.

If the board is full of Murray's stoogies, and Murray wants to sell his shares then they'd have taken Whyte's offer without hesitation, surely?

Maybe there have been developments in the tax case that gives the club fresh optimism.

Maybe there is now a better deal on the cards.

Fuck knows, but since I'm not in a position to speculate, I won't.

  2. It won't happen anyway as they're signing the boy Kelvin Wilson from Nottingham Forest

I just don't buy into this pish that he'd never play for Celtic. If Mo Johnston and Kenny Miller can do it, Danny Wilson certainly can

Aye, never say never I suppose.

He was quoted in February saying:

"My reaction when I heard Celtic had asked about a loan was like everyone else's. It's just stupid, isn't it?

"After being associated with Rangers for so long - I was there from age nine - it was never on the cards.

"I have no interest in going to Celtic. Would I have gone to another club on loan? Maybe.

"But after speaking to the manager he doesn't really want me to go anywhere. That was good to hear."

  3. That pathetic excuse is one often trotted (pun intended) out by the bheasts.

    How co-incidental eh?

If UEFA are going to listen to the words of a failed social worker and a failed journalist then it is up to us to counter their little campaign with facts.

If we don't collate them and give them to Rangers then i'm sure no one else is going to do it.

If there's anyone from VB on could they PM me - too many 'suspects' on here.

Sorry, are you alluding to an accusation that I may not be a Rangers fan?

Edit: And it appears that many more are happy to openly accuse me of being a tim. I'm sure there were meant to be rules against things like this.

Why is it that if someone dares to have a differing opinion, they immediately get shot down as a tim? I can't believe how moronic a large element of our support can be at times.

  4. Thanks for your incisive factual input

    :shifty:

What exactly do you expect? The word is derogatory and no amount of information alluding to Celtic fans or Catholics calling themselves fenians is going to do any good in defending it's use. In the same way that a black person describing himself as a "n***er" doesn't make it alright for white people to do the same.

  5. Fenian:

A more common word for a Catholic, similar to taig. Mainly used in Northern Ireland and Scotland

"Away ta hell, I've no time for fenian gypsies"

Said by Orange Lily, character in Northern Irish comedian James Young's sketches.

  6. Although Lloyds are saying that it's a matter between the shareholders and Whyte, it could still be them that's preventing it going ahead with the £1m settlement payment. If, as is likely, that there is a written clause about the £1m payment, then technically they aren't in the wrong. Until someone meets the demands of the agreed overdraft, then they can say it's out of their hands.

  7. If Martin Bain stands up against this I will streak across Ibrox on Saturday.

I'm as sick as the next Rangers fan at the imbalance of reporting when it comes to this issue, but I certainly don't expect Martin Bain to defend the fans singing No Pope of Rome and The Billy Boys. To do so would only either attempt to validate the singing of these songs, or admit that it's wrong for us to do so but condone it because Celtic fans do it as well.

Whether or not you agree about the banning of these songs, the fans must realise that continuing to sing them is only serving to damage the club. I was a season ticket holder for ten years, and sang along as loud and as proud as the next man at the games, but when there started to be talk of UEFA getting involved, threatening to impose fines and play closed door matches, then I quickly realised that to continue to do so would be to the detriment of the club I loved. My love for Rangers is stronger than my love for singing TBB (despite how fucking fantastic it was to do so.)

  8. According to the Record, Ally said “Why don’t you stay away from our players?”

Something along those lines seems to make sense anyway. Lennon showing his true colours again, the fucking slimeball that he is.

I hope we (and think we will) tear Celtic a new arsehole in the next league game, see how the ugly bastard likes them apples.

  9. At the end of the day, Rangers, with or without a takeover, need to run the club as normally as they can. They can't just put everything on hold until a takeover takes place. If the deal with Whyte does fall through, then I'm sure the majority of us would be slamming the club for not having a contingency. I reckon it's been announced just now for a few reasons, main one being that season ticket renewals aren't far away. If they wait until closer to that time then the club would know that the fans will be blatantly aware of the timing of the announcement.

  10. The way Twitter works is that you see public messages posted by those you follow. If you then click on one particular person you follow, you can also see what they've written to people who have "tweeted" them. If you see a tweet that starts with @randompersonsname, then you know that it's probably in response to what that person has sent them. To see what that person has sent them, you need to click into a separate page that shows what everybody sends to that particular person that you're following. From flicking between that, and the original person's twitter feed, you understand the conversations, of which there are usually many going on at the same time.

From that "spoof" Ronnie Cully page, you can see that he's posted a few messages about how he's fighting for the banning of Penny Arcade, and by doing so, rousing all the Timothys into thinking he's on the road to slating and exposing all of us big bad evil h*** for singing the big bad song.

Personally, I think it's hilarious. Sorry if my explanation above doesn't make much sense. To someone who has never used twitter, it's probably still just a load of waffle.

  11. No but sorting them into 'groupings' that 27 lookes well short of experience and choice (IMHO) and thats an issue.

  12. I couldn't care less what that taigy cunt has to say for himself, he's clueless.

    Good for you.

Stop looking for stuff to get offended by.

    I'm not!

I fucking love how this place is full of people who love to tell you how to be a Rangers fan and what opinion you should have.

The whole point of a forum is to discuss your views, a different angle to someone else. Not be a group of nodding dugs. <cr>
