What gets me as well is the fact that Scotland is pretty much where the reformation started. The English were pretty much slaves of the Romans and were very authoritarian, much like the Catholic Church are these days. Us Scots had to run to the Hills to practice our new found religion as the English would slaughter us. So why then, if Scotland is mostly protestant, over 80% then why do the minority whihc unbelievablly is the catholics get more of a say these days and get so much sympathy. The SNP are mostly protestant and seem to also be on the side of the catholics more as well. The worlds gone crazy!

My dad made a good point. The songs we sing are not sectarian as they are about the defence of our country against rebel fighters who aim to cause terror to achieve political goals. Therefore as much as their songs may well be political they are not legitimate as the IRA lost their legitimacy with the public when they started bombing civillians. And the word fenian does not represent a catholic as such it is merely a rebel fighter from the time meaning what we are singing is legit as we are in support of our sons who fought for this great country!

Hey new user, don't worry i am not a tim i just use FF more. I did use this site however for the Jelavic saga and what a thread that was lads. Hope you welcime me into the forum. Just to make a point regarding this issue does anyone know if Celtic have gone any further with their so called "investigation" into the poppy scandal and why do they not get pulled up for singing the Ibrox Disaster song which has no political meaning whatsoever. It is disgusting the way we are treated!
