which is still in place...
Which was overturned and only forced on us so we could get an SFA licence. Any more history you wanna gloss over or ignore?
-
I get the impression this document was written in order to be leaked.
Even if that's true, we should try and implement it. Unfortunately, we don't have the people to do that imo.
-
dont see this on any mainstream broadcasters as news ?
News is at six. STV and BBC are running with it on twitter already.
-
What loop hole have they found to pull that one off then?
Vague promises of more money coming from a club that aren't involved and will hopefully tell them where to go. It's worked so far.
It's worked so well that the biggest ground in the country has had to close a tier of its ground due to nobody turning up.
-
That is probably one of the best policy documents I've seen for a football club (because Ive seen none before)
Why the hell would we want to ditch that?
Don't pay over the odds for a player, don't break your wage structure, etc etc
Again, why would we ditch that ????
Because we want to sign Jon Daly.
-
the 10 clubs have taken independent legal advice re quitting - longmuir has already lost.
Not necessarily. The legal eagles that handed us an embargo had that overturned by a higher court.
-
McCoist loves them, that much is for sure. Infact they're probably single-handed keeping him in a job with their Super Ally chants.
Any other ultras in Europe would have Murray Park burnt to the ground wanting change.
Out of the six of us that sit together, I can't think one of us that thinks McCoist is doing a good job. Promotion should have been an absolute stroll - and it has been, but forking out hundreds of pounds to sit frustrated with that squad is not good enough.
-
I guess that's what I'm doing slightly. I think I'm just playing evils advocate really. I would have loved to have seen Green implement this, even if that meant doing something tricky like removing Ally from the job. I'm just disappointed that is is another thing out there to splinter the support even more
Likewise. If we give Ally another year, and there's still no progress in tactics, scouting/signings, ability or entertainment, then what?
There'll always be something to splinter us. Before this today, the RST was (and still will) dividing(divide) fans.
-
I don't know of anyone who isn't renewing. I know a couple who have said they will go pay as you go if Ally is sacked though.
I'm not renewing. I can't justify that price for the quality on the pitch. I'll pick and choose this coming season.
-
I never said their view didn't ... infact if you read what I said I said they're entitled to their collective view.
Oh I know, they're entitled to it, but I thought you might have underestimated the pull they'll have on the board, especially now that CG's gone. Ally praises them to the hilt, but they'll still be belting out songs about Green.
-
IF we did move, which a part of me hopes we dont, But IF we did, would the transfer ban be null and void or would it still be in affect because it was imposed by the SFAil?
No, we'd still be under that, unless we managed to negotiate our way out of it.
-
Ah the joys of a united support!
I like the document (even if some hints are a bit airy fairy - 'everyone must give 100%!') and would love to see some of the ideas implemented. I still hope they will be. Certainly gives those who wanted Green gone a bit of food for thought
They're just dismissing it as spin, mostly.
-
They're more of a vocal minority that less and less people are taking seriously these days tbh.
Obviously entitled to their collective view, but they think they own Ibrox nowadays.
They still occupy enough STs that their views can't be discounted.
-
Not sure that I would. I think it would be a mistake if we closed the door on Charles Green indefinitely. If we see no progress then someone with this vision should not be overlooked.
It doesn't even have to be CG, but I don't think Walter and Ally are the men for that job in any way, shape or form.
-
Does anyone know the 10 names who have preliminary resigned?
The eight who aren't promoted/relegated from D1 (yet - playoffs), Dundee and QotS.
-
Maybe I'm just talking for myself but I feel that fans, seeing a plan, a genuine, thought out, intelligent plan, would have backed Green, even if it meant some tough decisions. I've seen more support for Green in this thread than at Nani time over the last few months
Some would, but a lot wouldn't have. TBO/UB wouldn't have, a lot of the older guys wouldn't have.
-
I'd like to see them try.
I think we'd blow the best chance we've ever had to turn this club into a model of Ajax, Dortmund or Porto letting them have a crack at it. Neither of them have ever shown any semblances of continental football thinking.
-
Just glanced at it to be fair. All I'm saying is the aforementioned point. If Green had been really wanting to strengthen his position he would have released this when it was written. The fans would have not taken his dismissal lightly then
The Green Oot mob would have been spitting blood at it. Even those undecided on him but fans of Ally would have revolted.
-
Not so surehe would have been out of a job, but he would probably have had to change or add to his backroom staff, and the signing choices was being taken out of his hands and put in the director of footballs hands.
I really like some of the ideas in that document.
You think Ally would have just laid down and let the club sack ID, KM and others below him without protest? Or players being signed above his head? He'd have walked, or been sacked.
-
I am guessing this was what CG meant, when he said that all would be revealed regarding our long term plans.
I really hope we go ahead and try to implement soe of these ideas, as they would benefit the club massively.
Would you trust Ally and Walter to be the innovative and implementing force behind this? Smith was brilliant for us when we were up against it, and Ally was a rock last season and this, but they're hardly what you'd call creative thinkers or visionaries.
-
Stranger things have happened, it's obvious that they want to get rid of the clubs below the div 1 level and that's exactly what it will stay as a div1
With the money and fans we pull in? Aye, very good.
-
So do people really believe that guys like Ally and Walter WOULDNT want all the positive stuff mentioned in this document? I can't understand why folk would think that?
Ally would be out of a job, basically. As would Durrant, McDowall and others. Could Walter survive being part of the board that sacked Ally et al?
I don't doubt their heart, just their implementation skills to get us anywhere near this. Smith's way of winning titles and running Rangers is over. Ally's time isn't exactly secure or long-term either.
-
Taken from twitter but - On the CG document - is anyone satisfied with the way we've been on-field this season? Does anyone see any positive team progress?
-
SFL have been good to us. Spoilt weans up in D1 kicking up fuck because they'd probably been banking on more cash.
Reconstruction happening now apparently
