  1. ALLY McCOIST will have to reshuffle his pack again with the loss of Lee McCulloch coming on the back of Steven Naismith's long term injury.

McCulloch picked up a calf strain in training yesterday and that will mean at least two changed to the midfield that lined up at Pittodrie last weekend.

McCoist has options in that area though with Kyle Bartley able to play in the middle of the park and Gregg Wylde ready to step back in to the side after a few weeks out of the starting XI.

McCoist said: "Lee McCulloch unfortunately has a wee strain in his calf so he won't make it tomorrow, but the good news is that we have Kyle Bartley back.

"So apart from Lee, Jamie Ness and of course Steven Naismith we are looking pretty sound with our squad. Slowly but surely we are getting back there."

Wylde has already spoken this week of his desire to try to fill Naismith's boots while the Scotland international is sidelined.

That's something that McCoist admits he is more than aware of and likes the positive attitude from his young winger.

He added: "Gregg's certainly not shy in putting himself forward and that's great. We've given him a bit of a rest for a couple of weeks and we know that he's more than ready to come in.

"We're delighted with his form in what is really his first full season so he'll certainly come in to our thoughts.

"We have a few left sided players. We have a good balance, but Gregg has actually put in some good performances on the right hand side and that's pleasing."

  2. Seen the advert thread by croatianbycicles and thought I'd give an article a bash, jotted down some notes from various websites and had a go. :)

Gregg Wylde believes Rangers will be able to manage without long term absentee Steven Naismith and declares he is prepared to up his play in order to fill the void left by The SPL’s top scorer so far this season (weighing in with nine league goals) who has already picked up The Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League September Player of The Month award along the way.

The youngster’s most prominent position is usually when deployed from the left hand side of midfield though he deems himself available to play on the right flank if called upon by manager Ally McCoist after learning of a possible nine month lay-off for highly influential winger Steven Naismith who was ruled out for the remainder of the season with cruciate ligament damage sustained during last weekend’s 2-1 triumph at bitter rivals Aberdeen. And he has full belief in his own abilities stating that he is more than willing to move to a less than comfortable spot on the right hand side in aid of covering for his injury struck team mate.

The Scotland under-21 player recognizes that without Naismith in the team, it releases a spot which he is eager to grip firmly with both hands after being omitted from the starting line up in the last two league matches, McCoist instead sticking with his newly formed left-sided duo Sasa Papac and Lee Wallace. Meanwhile the young winger claims he was glad of the rest but is now invigorated and prepared to slot back into the starting line-up. He recognizes the loss of an important first-team member though sees no reason why Rangers title push should be disrupted.

Next on the fixture list for the current league leaders is the visit of struggling Dundee United on Saturday as they target a 12 point lead over nearest rivals Motherwell.

  3. David Templeton was born in Glasgow on 7 January 1989. His father, ex-professional footballer Henry Templeton, who at the time of David's birth was playing for ex-Scotland manager, Ally MacLeod, at Ayr United. Henry's hero was Rangers and Scotland winger Davie Cooper and named his son after his hero. Henry was a small, skilful, tricky attacking player and this seems to have been passed on to David.

In an interview with The Scotsman, Templeton said of his childhood, "My dad left and I went to my mum's side who were all C*ltic fans so I ended up following them. I grew up as a C*ltic fan but I loved watching Brian Laudrup because of the way he played."

He would defo come to us imo, follow in the foosteps of his hero.

Only problem is, I can see this article being a whole load of made up shite.
