  1. Update:

Thanks to everyone for their kind words, it certainly means a lot to me.

I greatly appreciate the offer that many have made regarding donations, handing back scarves etc but I'll politely decline.

Everyone who has paid for a scarf is fully entitled to have their order fulfilled and I have / will ensure that everyone receives what is due to them.

All orders of quantities 1- 4 scarves have been posted and should either have been delivered (or on their way to your home address).

A very limited number of large quantity orders are outstanding, but these will be fulfilled tomorrow afternoon (when I buy the big boxes to ship them).

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who has been supportive at this testing time.

    Kind regards,

    Jon

  2. Update:

The majority of scarves have now been sent out.

Whilst a small residual amount is still to be packaged, I will pass these on to the post office first thing tomorrow.

Additionally I have taken measures with the post office to obtain bulk post sender confirmations - essentially these are certified statements confirming the address details of each individual that I have sent a scarf to.

I really appreciate the kind words passed on by RM members in this thread. However would hope that no one gets banned as a result of previous comments.

As I've said before, the lack of recent updates could have understandably upset people - and without knowing the nature of my absence may have assumed the worst. I do not think that anyone would have made such comments if they had known the circumstances.

I think this forum prides itself on openness and freedom of speech. With this in mind, people are entitled to say what they like (be it positive or negative towards myself). I think if we start requesting bans for this reason, then it would be to the detriment of the site.

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, messages and (now given the circumstances) their understanding.

    All the best,

    Jon

  3. Glad too see you back mate sorry to hear you have had personal issues and shame on anybody whos given you abuse for any delays.

Thanks mate, I can fully accept that people might have been pissed off with a delay in posting a section of the scarves, similarly I can appreciate that an update wouldn't have gone a miss either. For these I hold my hands up.

However, when you experience e.g a loss, sometimes priorities of sending out scarves do get put on the back burner.

  4. Hi all,

Apologies for not being able to provide an update sooner but i've had a few personal matters to attend with (I'd rather not go into the extent of these).

Having just caught up with the progress of this thread, I can appreciate the frustration that this may have caused. The last of these scarves will be sent out tomorrow.

To put everyone in the picture, there really is little profit margin on these scarf and as such the extent of these offerings was to provide a facility to the forum (that would not have been otherwise feasible).

Between meeting the MOQ set by the supplier, postage cost and packaging: a nominal profit of a few hundred would exist. That said, I have lost money on both scarf offerings: both in terms of personal time and the extent of unpaid leave that I've had to schedule in. Clearly was a personal choice that I had made.

Having read a few relatively offensive PMs and emails - quoting sale of goods act and the like. I can safely say that once I've posted the last 100 scarves I will refrain from getting involved in any further scarf offerings.

To reiterate, the final scarves will be sent out tomorrow.

I'd like to thank those who realised that sometimes unplanned and unfortunate events do occur.

  5. GB,

As per my recent PM. I'd like to contribute 20 - 30 scarves (original design) to the RM Erskine appeal.

Perhaps these could be raffled off to help fund future hospitality events, or even as a gift to some of servicemen who attend these.

Either way, I cannot think of a better use for these additional scarves - best to discuss over a pint though

    All the best,

    Jon.

    P.S

If raffled at 10 quid a piece, you'd be raising around 300 which could be used to sponsor another Erskine Veteran lunch.

  6. How many people have bought these?

Approx 207 of the new design have been purchased (a total of 225 were produced). An intentional surplus exists to address any quality issues i.e. replacements.

Similarly, 32 out of 75 (original design) have been sold.

I am reluctant to sell any more scarves until I've issued all existing orders. This ensures that each member receives a quality scarf(s).

  7. Update:

Unfortunately I am still awaiting delivery of the bulk order.

However, based on assurances given to me. I can confirm that these will be sent out to everyone next week.

I will try to work around my limited schedule (bearing in mind that I took 2 days off last week to organise the mass scarf mailing - which never actually arrived).

I can appreciate that this may cause some frustration amongst a few of the forum members, that said I have sacrificed 2 days holiday for effectively nothing so I'm equally frustrated.

    Cheers,

    Jon.

  8. Ffs Nacho you're designing scarves organising polls to decide on the design setting up a method of payment that the thickest of us can use on our own, you collate the addresses, you order the scarves, have them delivered, sort them out per order, pack them and post them to us, who, have hit a couple of buttons on our computers and sat back and done... Well fuck all to be honest and yet you feel the need to apologise because they're a couple of days behind your schedule. Behave yourself man and take a bow

    :praise:

    Thanks mate.

There is a lot of work required but when I see a fellow bear with one of the scarves on, it makes it all worth while.

Hopefully we can organise another 'post pics of your scarf' thread once they've all been delivered.

  9. Don't think I paid thru Paypal.

I would have listed my address somehow(really can't recall how). Can you double check you have an address for me,mate?(I know this sounds dense but I can't even remember how I paid............and I was feckin sober!!

As ForeverBlue_Since91 says, you must have paid through paypal.

If you can drop me a PM with your full name, I'll search the transaction history and confirm the address that you've used.

    Cheers.
