  1. Most people are just glory hunting when it comes to supporting another team. Its usually one of the top 4 in England or Barca or Real Madrid.

If someone has a genuine reason for liking another club then thats fine imo, like if its your local team or you had a family member that supported them or whatever. But ive got a mate who likes Madrid simply because Ronaldo plays for them.

Also I dont think you can support a team you chose with the same passion as you support Rangers, I am a life long fan who was brought up to be a bear, I was too young to remember my first Rangers game, its been a part of my life since before I remember. If I chose to support Man U or Chelsea or some other diddy team then it would never be the same as watching the Gers.

    Well put mate.

Also, the term 'support' is subjective.

I've known folk who claim to 'support' some of the sides that you've mentioned, yet have never set foot within the stadium or even purchased the respective club merchandise. How this constitutes 'supporting' a side is beyond me.

  2. Did McCoist sanction his wage?

Did the CEO, Financial Director on any one else at the club come to McCoist re a wage cut?

Would you accept a masive wage cut whilst your boss continues to rake it in on the gravy train?

Whats the going rate for a manager of a club with 35000+ STs, average gate of well over 40 0dd thousand and supported world wide?

That is the question we must all answer honestly. Very few of us would opt to work for less money in our current roles.

  3. Taking into account the quantified salaries, including bonus for first team players and directors / key personnel.

We're spending £5.146m on the remaining 157 employees. On average this works out at £32,777 approx per person...

It would have been interesting to find out the allocated wage resource on our coaching staff (bar Ally).

Edit: Happy to be proved wrong though!

  4. On the whole, I think the accounts are probably par for the course.

A particular concern of mines would be the sugar coated use of first team wage : turnover ratio. On first impressions 42 to 43% doesn't sound too bad, however I'd have thought that total wages : turnover would have been a more relevant benchmark.

Considering total wages & salaries [15,855] : turnover [19,107], we're hitting 83% Unhealthy is probably an understatement.

I'm slightly pushed for time (nearing the end of my lunch), we can attribute:

    £000s

    First team salary 8022

    Total Director Remuneration* 1589

    Ally's salary 825

    Imran Ahmed* 303

    Total 10,739

By my reckoning this leaves circa £5.146 m being paid to all other (157!) staff members.

    *including bonus
