Most people are just glory hunting when it comes to supporting another team. Its usually one of the top 4 in England or Barca or Real Madrid.
If someone has a genuine reason for liking another club then thats fine imo, like if its your local team or you had a family member that supported them or whatever. But ive got a mate who likes Madrid simply because Ronaldo plays for them.
Also I dont think you can support a team you chose with the same passion as you support Rangers, I am a life long fan who was brought up to be a bear, I was too young to remember my first Rangers game, its been a part of my life since before I remember. If I chose to support Man U or Chelsea or some other diddy team then it would never be the same as watching the Gers.
Well put mate.
Also, the term 'support' is subjective.
I've known folk who claim to 'support' some of the sides that you've mentioned, yet have never set foot within the stadium or even purchased the respective club merchandise. How this constitutes 'supporting' a side is beyond me.

Granted that some fans chose to leave early, many do have valid reasons. As an example: older supporters who aren't too stable on their feet and may require additional time to leave.

Update:
Unfortunately, I'm running approx 1 week behind schedule due to a material supply issue at the manufacturer's end.
That said, I've been assured that the relevant sample scarves have been posted to my home address. Hopefully I will be in a position to post these images tomorrow and give the go ahead for the full batch run to be commissioned.
-
When will the scarfs be posted?
Still awaiting the full batch to be sent to me.
I'll keep the thread updated when I have further info.
Cheers.

He'll be used as the ultimate motivational tool to ensure consistent performance... imagine telling one of the Barca stars that they've lost their place to Samaras.
Pretty embarrassing to say the least.
-
Thanks again Nacho
No bother.

Arguably the 2 - 0 game vs Dortmund in '99.

Yet people can fill their boots singing pro republican songs.
A Celtic fan who sang a pro-IRA song has been cleared in a landmark ruling that could have an effect on future cases where charges have been brought under the Offensive Behaviour at Football bill.

You couldn't make it up.

Any left or all gone now?
Thanks.
Handful of both designs still left. If you could drop me a PM with the number you require, I'll see what I can do.
Cheers.

The telegraph ran an article a few years ago entitled 'Ireland 'welcomed Hitler's henchmen.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1538969/Ireland-welcomed-Hitlers-henchmen.html
Similarly, the Irish paper ' The Independent' ran a story ' How Dev's Ireland became safe haven for fugitive Nazis'
http://www.independe...s-26443045.html
You don't need to look hard to find details of Ireland's fascist and anti-Semitic past.

Update:
Still awaiting delivery of the sample scarf.

I'll admit that I've sometimes been critical of McCoist, however for the man to take close to a 50% wage cut says a lot.
Well done Super Ally.
-
Did McCoist sanction his wage?
Did the CEO, Financial Director on any one else at the club come to McCoist re a wage cut?
Would you accept a masive wage cut whilst your boss continues to rake it in on the gravy train?
Whats the going rate for a manager of a club with 35000+ STs, average gate of well over 40 0dd thousand and supported world wide?
That is the question we must all answer honestly. Very few of us would opt to work for less money in our current roles.
-
It will be interesting to see what sort of salary reduction Super Ally takes.
For me this raises two questions:
1. what is an acceptable reduction given his now public £825'000 salary?
2. what level of reduction will actually occur?
Personally, I can't see his salary reduced by more than 10%.

Taking into account the quantified salaries, including bonus for first team players and directors / key personnel.
We're spending £5.146m on the remaining 157 employees. On average this works out at £32,777 approx per person...
It would have been interesting to find out the allocated wage resource on our coaching staff (bar Ally).
Edit: Happy to be proved wrong though!

On the whole, I think the accounts are probably par for the course.
A particular concern of mines would be the sugar coated use of first team wage : turnover ratio. On first impressions 42 to 43% doesn't sound too bad, however I'd have thought that total wages : turnover would have been a more relevant benchmark.
Considering total wages & salaries [15,855] : turnover [19,107], we're hitting 83% Unhealthy is probably an understatement.
I'm slightly pushed for time (nearing the end of my lunch), we can attribute:
£000s
First team salary 8022
Total Director Remuneration* 1589
Ally's salary 825
Imran Ahmed* 303
Total 10,739
By my reckoning this leaves circa £5.146 m being paid to all other (157!) staff members.
*including bonus

That is a quality post...
Spock's playing the flute and Tina Turner's giving it laldy.

Maybe this is what sectarian dancing looks like...
The lad in the middle is exuberantly 'performing' the bouncy whilst his fellow revelers sing a sectarian song.
Although his left hand is out of the picture, it is clearly painted red.

Seemingly the pics are from Hegre's 'Beauty and the Beast' collection.
It's not Mulgrew in the pics.
